Common Entrance Exam - 07th JUNE 2009
The fashion industry is fast growing and has equally challenging opportunities as in various other sectors such as IT Engineering, thus even in this field, competitive and diligent manpower is required. Therefore, in order to serve the industry with industrious human resources, the S.N.D.T. University has acquired a system wherein the students will be selected based on and entrance examination, so that the most deserving candidates are selected and groomed to be focus fashion professionals of tomorrow. The examination will be conducted in almost 16 different cities of the country on 07th JUNE 2009.
Final admission based on the Merit List of C.E.T. with the further condition of minimum passing in H.S.C. or equivalent exam.
The students will be given preferences of the colleges on the basis of merit List of the common entrance test.
First preference will be considered up to the given strength of the college and then the second preference shall be considered. The S.N.D.T. common entrance test committee reserves the rights for any required changes.
Admissions for reservation category students as per S.N.D.T. women’s University / Govt. of Maharashtra, UP Rules.

ADMIT CARD:
On the basis of information given in the SNDTCET Application Form, Admit Card of provisionally eligible candidates will be issued so that the provisionally eligible candidates will receive their admit cards (as per the declared date in important dates).

The candidates are required to download the Admit Card from the SNDTCET website http://www.sndtcet.in on or after 2nd JUNE 2009 / the candidates may request one of the affiliated colleges to provide the same with the necessary charges, prescribed by Concern College.

The candidates are required to affix their photograph (similar to that affixed on the Application Form) on the downloaded Admit Card and get it attested for producing at the Examination Centre.

Candidate without the admit card or without the photograph on the downloaded admit card will NOT be permitted to appear in the written entrance examination.

Mobiles and other InfoTech gadgets are not allowed inside Examination Centre campuses.

Applicants are advised to keep a photocopy of Application Form for further reference, along with proof of dispatch, if any.

 

Written Entrance Examination on 07th June 2009 (Sunday)

1. All eligible candidates will have to appear for a written entrance examination at the Examination Centers opted by them. The written entrance examination is designed to test the knowledge, skill and aptitude of the candidates for the programme opted.
2. The written entrance examination will be conducted on 07th JUNE 2009 The candidate has to select only ONE city for the examination.

3. Please note that the request for change of Examination Centre will not be entertained.

3. The admission weightage to a P.G./ U.G. programme is- CET – 60%, Qualifying Exam - 20%, Portfolio and Interview - 20%

4.Successful CET candidates are eligible for admission will be required to attend the counseling/ Interview session on a specified date and time at their own expense at the preferred college campus. The schedule of the counseling for final allotment of courses would be displayed on the SNDTCET web site www.sndtcet.in . Candidates will also be invited through individual communication. Candidates whose names appear in the list put on the website but have not received the invitation for counseling should also appear for counseling on the counseling date(s) notified.

5.If the candidate remains absent on the date and time specified for the counseling session or does not deposit the fee through Bank Demand Draft, the candidature will be cancelled and the next candidate in the final merit will be called immediately.

6.A candidate who reports later than the date and time when her rank in the merit list required her to do so, she will be considered for admission against the seats that are available at that point of time in various programmes. She will not be eligible and will not be considered against a seat that would have ordinarily gone to her on the basis of merit.

7. The selected candidates will be required to submit migration certificate at time of counseling.

8. The candidates are advised to join the programme offered at the allotted college within ten days of commencement of the programme, failing which, their admission will stand cancelled without any intimation and the tuition fee paid shall be forfeited. The vacant seat shall be offered to the waitlisted candidates in the order of merit.

The result of the written entrance examination will be displayed at all Associate Colleges on the SNDTCET website in the month of JUNE 2009. Short listed candidates will also be informed separately by registered post about the dates of interviews. Maximum number of candidates called for interview is three times the number of the seats in the programme. All those called for the second phase are required to attend Interview TO complete the process of selection.

Candidates should have passed a Bachelor's (10+2+3) degree examination from a recognized University/Institution, securing 50% marks. Candidate appearing for their final examination in 2009 are also eligible to apply.

Fee Structure: The annual fees for the two year full time MBA programme will be Rs 225,000/- (Rupees Two Lakh Twenty Five Thousand) only. This fee includes tuition, hostel boarding and lodging charges.
In addition to the annual fees, students will have to deposit one-time refundable caution money of Rs 10000/- (Rupees Ten Thousand) only.

How To Apply:  Application for admission to the MBA programme is to be made in the prescribed form. The form complete in all respects should reach the Registrar on or before the specified date. The Programme is targeted at individuals with high potential for success in business and industry. Such individuals must have successfully completed a Bachelor's degree or equivalent (under 10+2+3 system) with at least 50% aggregate marks or equivalent CGPA in any discipline from a University recognized by Association of Indian Universities/AICTE.

Candidates appearing in the final year of their bachelor's degree are also eligible, provided they complete all formalities of their examination before June 30, 2009. Such candidates, on selection, will be allowed to join the programme only provisionally subject to successful passing & completion of the bachelor's degree examination by securing at least 50% aggregate marks or equivalent CGPA. The deadline for submission of mark sheet and the certificate is December 31, 2009.

Non-fulfillment of this condition will automatically result in cancellation of the provisional admission.

Selection Process: Admissions are made on the basis of merit, based on:

Valid Score in the written admission test – CAT/MAT/XAT/ATMA (GMAT for foreign students)

Past academic record/work experience, and Performance in Group Discussion and Personal Interview.

Note: Jaipuria Institute of Management, Noida uses CAT score for short-listing candidates, and IIMs have no role either in the selection process or in the conduct of the programme.

vi. Once the University confirmed registration of the student for the topic in which he/she wishes to undertake research work, no change in the topic shall be allowed without prior permission of the university

ELIGIBILITY:
The candidate shall possess recognized MBBS degree or equivalent qualifications and should have obtained permanent registration with the Medical Council of India or any of the State Medical Councils or should obtain the same within one month from the date of his admission failing which the admission of the candidate shall be cancelled. In the case of a foreign national, the Medical Council of India may on payment of the prescribed fee for registration, grant temporary registration for the duration of the postgraduate training restricted to the medical college/institution to which he is admitted for the time being exclusively for postgraduate studies. Temporary registration to such foreign national shall be subject to the condition that such a person is duly registered as medical practitioner in his own country from which he has obtained his basic medical qualification that his degree is recognized by the corresponding medical council or the concerned authority.

Common Proficiency Test (Paper-Pencil Mode) is open only to those students who register with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India for the said course on or before 1st April, 2009 and fulfill the requisite eligibility conditions.

Information Brochure containing the Applications form for admission to CPT (Paper-Pencil Mode) can be obtained from the Additional Secretary (Examinations), The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, ICAI Bhawan, Indraprastha Marg, New Delhi-110 002 on payment of Rs. 600/-. Those opting for Abu Dhabi, Duabi and Bahrain centres have to remit US $160 or its equivalent Indian Currency and those opting Kathmandu (Nepal) centre, INR.950/- or its equivalent foreign Currency. All remittances are inclusive of examination fee.

Common Proficiency Test application forms duly filled should reach Additional Secretary (Examinations), The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, ICAI Bhawan, Indraprastha Marg, New Delhi-110 002 latest by 27th April, 2009.  Applications will be received by hand delivery at the offices of Institute at New Delhi and at the Decentralised Offices of the Institute at Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Kanpur, Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Jaipur and Pune upto 27th April, 2009. 

Application can also be submitted online at  http://icaiexam.icai.org from 1000 hrs on 6th April, 2009 to 1730hrs on 27th April, 2009 and fee remitted online by using Credit card, either VISA or Master Card. ONLINE CPT: ICAI will hold the Common Proficiency Test (CPT) Online for the candidates who would be willing to take the Test Online. The Online CPT will be conducted at  Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi/New Delhi, Kanpur, Kolkata, Mumbai, Jaipur, Hyderabad, Nagpur, Pune, Vadodara, Chandigarh, Coimbatore, Ernakulam, Guntur, Indore, Lucknow, Raipur, Surat, Thiruvananthapuram, Udaipur and  Visakhapatnam on 25th and 26th April, 2009 and at Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi/New Delhi, Kanpur, Kolkata, Mumbai, Jaipur, Hyderabad, Nagpur , Pune  , Vadodara, Chandigarh, Coimbatore, Ernakulam, Guntur, Indore, Lucknow, Raipur, Surat, Thiruvananthapuram, Udaipur and  Visakhapatnam on 23rd and 24th May, 2009 .

Candidates intending to appear in Online CPT from the above cities will be required to fill up examination form Online at http://icaiexam.icai.org and option once exercised shall be treated as final and no change to Paper-Pencil mode Test will be allowed at a later stage under any circumstances. The medium of test for Online CPT would be English only.

The candidates intending to take the CPT Online Test shall be required to fill in the online examination application form with requisite fees as per the facility provided depending on the date of Registration for CPT Course.

Those who have registered for CPT Course or before 1.2.2009 are eligible for the Online Test of 25th/ 26th April, 2009. Commencement of online Registration for examination for them will begin at 1000 hrs on 13th March, 2009 and will continue till 1730 hrs on 3rd April, 2009 or till the seats are full.

Only those who have registered for CPT Course or before 1st March, 2009 are eligible for the Online Test of 23rd / 24th May, 2009. Commencement of online Registration for examination for these students will begin at 1000 hrs on 9th April, 2009 and will close at 1730 hrs on 29th April, 2009 or till the seats are full.

Four-year Bachelor of Fisheries Science (Nautical Science) course for 2009

The Central Institute of Fisheries, Nautical & Engineering Training (CIFNET) a Government of India Institution, located at Cochin, Kerala, has invited applications for admission to the four-year Bachelor of Fisheries Science (Nautical Science) course for 2009, commencing on 23rd July, 2009.

The course extending over 8 semesters is concerned with fish capturing techniques, nautical science and operation of fishing vessels. Applicant should have passed 10+2 with 50% marks in Mathematics, 50% marks in aggregate in other science subjects and 50% marks in English either at 10th or +2. Maximum age limit is 20 years as on 1st October 2009.

In case the candidate wishes to take up career on sea/vessel, he/she should pass the prescribed eye test conducted by Mercantile Marine Department, before admission.

Admission will be based on the performance in a Common Entrance Test (CET), Academic performance, and Interview with a weightage of 100, 90 and 10 marks respectively.

The CET will be conducted at CIFNET, Fine Arts Avenue, Kochi-682016, from 10 am on 7th June, 2009. It will be an objective type test covering Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English Language. One mark will be awarded for each correct answer and 0.25 marks will be deducted for a wrong answer.

Interview will be held on 20th July, 2009. 20 seats will be filled through CET. Reservation for SC/ST will be 15% and 7.5% respectively. One seat each is available under NRI and Foreign National Category. Details can be had from the Prospectus.

ACB is a six months, fulltime course consisting of thirteen modules and an industry relevant project. Continuous evaluation is a part of the course structure where in day to day work of the students would be evaluated based on the performance through assignments and tests. Daily session comprises of 3 hours of classroom lecture followed by 4 hours of lab work.

The Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology (IIIT), Delhi has invited applications for the full time collaborative PhD Programme in Biometrics, Data Management and Software Engineering. Applicant should have good programming expertise, solid foundations in CS/Mathematics and interest in pursuing research in one of the above mentioned areas.

Applicant should have graduated within the last two years with a BTech/BE/MTech/MS/ME in CS/IT/ECE/EE with a good academic record (at least a CGPA of 7.5 or equivalent in IITs/NITs, or in the top 10% in his/her CS/IT/ECE/EE batch from other institutions). Requirements may be relaxed for candidates with publications/ R&D/software development experience in their area of interest. MCA/MSc(CS/IT/ECE) students are also eligible to apply with the condition that in their UG Course (B.Sc) they should have Mathematics as one of the courses, obtained first division marks in it, and have keen interest/capability/commitment in pursuing research. Students in their final semester of BTech/BE/MTech/ME are eligible to apply. Students in Electronics branch are also eligible to apply

Interview for admission may be done jointly by IIITD and the partner group. The main supervisor will be from IIIT Delhi and a co-supervisor can be had from the partner group. After completing the course work and starting the research, the student may spend 3 months to 1 year with the co-supervisor at the partner group/institution.

Stipend in first year is Rs 20,000 per month. It can be up to Rs 25,000 per month from the second to the fourth year. While at the partner group or organization, the partner will pay the stipend as per the norms. Institute will provide financial support to present papers in National and International conferences
