Successful candidates will be awarded the Master's Degree in Business Administration (MBA) in addition to the Post Graduate Programme in International Business Management from AMA. 

The Programme is of 24 months duration, spread over 6 academic terms including practical exposure and summer internship with Research Study, Seminar & Integrated Comprehensive project work during 4th, 5th, & 6th terms in the second year and has specialization offered in (i) International Finance and (ii) International Marketing.

The Programme is open to Graduate Degree holders from any discipline. Applicant must hold the first Graduation Degree with a minimum of 50% marks (45% for SC/ST) and should be below 35 years of age. Those with work experience are given priority. However, lack of such an experience will not be a disqualification.

Admissions will be offered on the basis of performance at (a) Under Graduate level studies (b) Graduation Degree and subsequent studies (c) achievements in extra curriculum activities (d) work experience and (e) Written Admission Test and Personal Interview to be held at AMA, Ahmedabad at 9 am on 7th June, 2009, with Group Discussion and Interview for short listed candidates to be held on the same day.

The written examination will be to test aptitude of the applicants in areas of English, Mathematics, General Awareness and Logical Reasoning. The maximum number of attempts taken to pass the qualifying examination is limited to three for SC/ST candidates and two for others. The improvement marks in HSC Examination of any year will not be considered for admission. There is no age limit for Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe candidates. For others, the age limit is 21 years as on 01.07.2009. No relaxation of age limit is permissible on any grounds.

Post Doctoral and Doctoral Programmes ( PDF, Ph. D): Applicants for Post Doctoral Fellow should hold a Ph.D Degree. For Ph.D, applicant should have Master Degree in appropriate branch of Engineering with minimum CGPA of 6.5 or 60 % from a recognized institute/University. First class Master Degree in Basic and Applied Sciences will also be considered. A valid GATE/NET score is necessary for scholarship for candidates without an M.Tech Degree.

Application may be sent on plain paper giving details of curriculum vitae including academic achievements and work experience. Applications are generally entertained twice in a year in the months of June and December. The Institute's main emphasis is on Materials Science, Metallurgical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Materials Processing Technology, Environmental Science & Engineering and Computational Materials Engineering. Master of Technology Courses: (M. Tech): Master of Technology course of 24 months (4- semester) duration is offered in the following areas, the eligibility being noted against each:

(d) Environmental Engineering: Bachelor's Degree in any branch of Engg or Master of Science in Physics/Chemistry/ Environmental Science (with Mathematics up to Bachelor level)

Minimum CGPA of 6.5 or 60 % aggregate marks is required for General and CGPA of 6.0 or 55 % aggregate marks for SC/ ST candidates. Selection of candidates will be on the basis of GATE score, marks obtained in last qualifying examinations and interview. Valid GATE score is mandatory for grant of scholarship (Rs. 8000/- per month at present). GATE score is not mandatory for sponsored / self financing candidates.

Advanced Diploma Courses (ADC): Advanced Diploma course of 18 months (3-semester) duration is offered in (a) Foundry Technology and (b) Forge Technology.

There is no negative marking for wrong answers. The final rank list is generated based on the scores in the Entrance Test for those who score 50% or more.

Applicant should have passed the Second year Pre-University/12th Standard/equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as optional subjects and English as one of the languages of study and obtained an aggregate minimum of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology put together. The results of the written part of Civil Services (Main) Examination,  2008 held by the Union Public Service Commission in October-November, 2008 and the interviews for Personality Test held in March-April, 2009, have been published.  A total number of 791 candidates have been recommended for appointment including 364 General , 236 Other Backward Classes , 130 Scheduled Castes  and 61 Scheduled Tribes candidates.

Appointment to the various services will be made according to the number of vacancies available with due consideration to the provisions contained in Rules 2 and 19 of the Rules of the Examination and subject to the final decision of the Supreme Court / High Court / C.A.Ts. on the S.L.Ps. / R.As/ W.Ps. O.As. pending therein, says a UPSC press note.

The number of vacancies reported by the Government for the Indian Administrative Service is 120 (60 General, 33 Other Backward Classes, 17 Scheduled Castes and 10  Scheduled Tribes); for the Indian Foreign Service is 26 (13 General, 08 Other Backward Classes, 04 Scheduled Castes and 01 Scheduled Tribe);  for the Indian Police Service is 130 (65 General, 36 Other Backward Classes, 20 Scheduled Castes and 09 Scheduled Tribes); for the Central Services Group 'A' is 546  (282 General, 146 Other Backward Classes, 81 Scheduled Castes and 37 Scheduled Tribes) and for Central Services Group 'B' is 59 ( 34 General, 13 Other Backward Classes, 08 Scheduled Castes and 04 Scheduled Tribes). The list of candidates recommended for appointment has been drawn pursuant to the ad-interim stay granted by the Supreme Court in SLP(Civil) No.13571-72/2008 dated 16.05.2008 filed by the Union of India on the judgment of the Madras High Court  in WP No.37196 of 2007 and related batch matters and therefore, this result is provisional subject to the final outcome of the Special Leave Petitions No.13571 -72/2008 and judgment/directions of the Hon'ble Supreme Court in the matter.

Applications have been invited by Rajasthan Ayurved University, Kadwad, Nagaur Road, Jodhpur, Rajasthan-342037, for admission to the Ayurved/Homoeopathic/Unani courses in State/Private Colleges in Rajasthan.

Admissions will be made through a Joint Entrance Test, 2009 to be held at Jodhpur, Jaipur, Udaipur, Ajmer, Bikaner, Kota, Sriganganagar, New Delhi & Lucknow on the 24th June, 2009 (Wednesday). The Examination Centres may also be located at Chennai, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Thiruvananthpuram, Kolkata, Mumbai, Bhopal and Guwahati. There will be two papers for the test. Each paper carrying 360 marks will have 120 objective type questions. First paper to be held from 8 am to 10 am will have 80 Questions from Physics in Section A and 40 Questions from Zoology in Section B. Paper 2 to be held from 11 am to 1 pm will have 80 questions from Chemistry (Section A) and 40 from Botany (Section B). Each correct answer will fetch 3 marks. For wrong answers, 1/2 mark shall be deducted. Merit position shall be determined on the basis of total marks obtained in both the papers.

Admissions for Ayurved course being run by the National Institute of Ayurveda, Jaipur and for the Homoeopathic & Unani Faculties will be made through Joint Entrance Test conducted at the National Level; for which the residents of all the States in India can apply for admissions. For admission to all the remaining Ayurved Colleges, bonafide Residents of Rajasthan may apply for the Joint Entrance Examination.
 
Applicant should complete 17 years of age on 31-12-09 and should have passed the 10+2 examination (Science Biology Group) of the Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education or equivalent there to. For admission to Ayurved & Unani Faculties, the candidate must have obtained at least 50% average marks in Physics, Chemistry & Biology. Those who have appeared this year at 10+2 examination with Science Biology may apply for admission subject to the submission of 10+2 mark sheet with requisite (50%) marks in Science- Biology Group as per the time schedule. 

For admission to Unani Faculty, applicant should have studied Urdu as a subject in 10th class or passed Adib, Adib-e-Mahir or Adib-e-Kamil from Jamia Hamdard, Aligarh along with above said 10+2 qualification.  Reservations as per Govt. Centre for Development Studies (CDS), Thiruvananthapuram has invited applications for admission to its full-time residential Programme leading to MPhil in Applied Economics of the Jawaharlal Nehru University, commencing on August 03, 2009.

Applicants can choose to be considered for provisional enrolment for PhD in Economics, either after the MPhil coursework or the full Programme, if meeting the requirements. The Programme has two-semester course-work and a dissertation.

Applicant should have a Master's Degree in Economics with at least 50% marks or in other Social Sciences, Humanities or Law with at least 55% marks or in Sciences, Technology or Life Sciences with at least 60% marks. SC/ST applicants and PH applicants with more than 40% disability are eligible irrespective of their percentage of marks.

The Programme follows an inter-disciplinary approach and those from non-Economics background are encouraged to apply. Those awaiting results of the Master's Programme can also apply, subject to the completion of the requirements of such Degree at the time of commencement of the Programme.

The Programme will have an annual intake of about 15 candidates. Two seats are available for officers deputed by the Government of Kerala. Journalists and Postgraduates in Journalism can utilize a fellowship of the Journalism Education Trust to undergo either the coursework or the full programme. Reservation is 15% for SC; 7.5% for ST and 3% for Physically Challenged candidates.

Applicants are first shortlisted for interview on the basis of their score for academic record (based on percentage of marks obtained in +2, Bachelor's and Master's Programmes) and score for Research proposal (average of three evaluations by CDS faculty), submitted with the application. The Research Proposal is the tool for evaluation of the applicant's interest and aptitude for undergoing this Programme and is a key element of the application. 

The Proposal can be in any field of study, but with an Applied Economics approach; should ideally be within 1500 words, neatly typed/ word-processed.

It should be the candidate's own work. The research Proposal should contain, A review of relevant literature on the chosen topic, A cogent exposition on the study problem, objectives of the study, Theoretical Framework, Methodology and sources of data, List of References.

Candidates shortlisted for interview to be held between  6th July and 8th July 2009, will be paid return sleeper class rail fare  to Trivandrum from the nearest railway station to the place given in the communication address in the application, if more than 50 km away from Trivandrum. The Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan, under the Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India, 56-57, Institutional Area, Janakpuri, New Delhi:-110058, will conduct the Pre-Shiksha Acharya Entrance Test (PSAT) for admission to Shiksha-Acharya Course (M.Ed) of the Sansthan and Pre- Research Test (PRT) 2009 for admission to Vidya Varidhi (Ph.D) Course 2009 of Sansthan on 20.6.2009 at the different campuses of the Sansthan.

The Pre-M.Ed Test (PSAT) will be held from 10 am to 12.35 pm and the Pre- Research Teat (PRT) from 2 pm to 5.05 pm at the same centre on 20.6.2009.

Applicants for the Pre- Shiksha Acharya Test should have passed Acharya /MA (Sanskrit) with at least 55% marks, B.Ed with at least 55% marks. (Minimum marks would be 50% in case of SC/ST applicants).

For Pre- Research Teat (PRT), eligibility is Acharya/MA Sanskrit with at least 55% marks.

Minimum age is 21 years as on 1.10.2009. Reservation for SC/ST PH for M.Ed will be given as per the rules of the Sansthan.

A candidate may appear for both the tests subject to eligibility. Separate Guidelines for both the Examinations along with Application forms can be obtained by hand from the Examination Branch, Rashtriyaa Sanskrti Sansthan, Janak Puri, New Delhi-110058, and also from the campuses of the Sansthan on payment of Rs.250/- by cash, till 30.5.2009.

Certificate in Accounting Technicians (CAT) Qualification

In view of heavy demand of Accountants at Junior level in India and also with the approval of Administrative Ministry, the Institute of Cost and Works Accountants of India (ICWAI) has introduced a Certificate in Accounting Technicians (CAT) Course of one year duration for 12th (10+2) passed students. It comprises of two parts- Foundation Course (Entry Level) and Competency Level. Also this course comprise of Examinations, Computer Training (60 Hours), Practical Training (6 Months) and Orientation Training Programme (15 Days). It will be in English and Hindi language. Study materials will also be available in English & Hindi as per choice of students. The papers covered under CAT Course are:-

A) Foundation Course (Entry Level) – Part-I
Paper 1: Organization and Management Fundamentals.
Paper 2: Accounting
Paper 3: Economics and Business Fundamentals
Paper 4: Business Mathematics and Statistics Fundamentals

B) Competency Level – Part-II
Paper 5: Financial Accounting
Paper 6: Applied Statutory Compliance

The Student who have passed/appearing 12th Class (10+2) examination are eligible to take admission in Foundation (Entry Level) Part-I of CAT Course. Graduates and Foundation Passed students of ICWAI & CAT are eligible to take direct admission in Competency Level (Part-II). It may please be noted that simultaneous appearing in Entry Level and Competency Level is not allowed for a CAT Course.

Course Fee
Fee for the complete Course is Rs. 8,600/-. Fee for ICWAI Foundation passed students and Graduates is Rs. 6,500/-. However, these students are required to pay exemption fee of Rs. 2000/- (Rs. 500 per paper). Course Fee includes Registration Fee, Tuition Fee, Computer Training Fee, Training Registration Fee and Study Material Cost.

It has been decided that there will be no postal coaching for CAT student. Only Oral Coaching mode will be followed, students eligibility for examination will be based on attendance (more than 70% of Classes attended).
Further, there will be no coaching completion Certificate for CAT Course.

Examination : Examination for CAT Course will be similar to ICWAI main Course with respect to date of Registration, validity of Registration, date of submission of Examination form, Examination date, Examination centres and passing marks etc.

Computer Training:- The Computer Training will be for sixty hours. The training will be in Accounting software, windows etc.

Practical Training:- The Practical Training will be for six months. The training can be taken from organizations prescribed under training scheme of CAT Course.

Orientation Training:- The Orientation Training will be for 15 days. After completion of Accounting Technicians course of both Part-I and Part-II and requisite practical Training of 6 months and Computer Training, a student needs to undergo Orientation Training Programme for 15 days at a Regional Council/ Chapter/ Oral Coaching Centre.

A candidate who has secured 80 percent or more marks in the aggregate of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in class XII from CBSE board or equivalent is eligible for appearing in the entrance test. (Those who have appeared in a Board whose results are not out by the last date of filling the form can apply if their AIEEE rank is less than or equal to 10000, provided they show their mark sheet of Class XII at the time of admission and must have obtained 80% in PCM). A candidate should also be less then 25 years of age on or before the first October 2009.

Note: No candidate without proof of 80% in PCM will be entertained for admission even if he/she qualifies the admission test

Relaxation in eligibility conditions Marks for Reserved Categories

Candidate belonging to the following categories, who apply for seats reserved for them, shall be allowed a concession in the minimum eligibility requirement as detailed below:

Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST). A relaxation of 10 percent marks in the minimum eligibility requirements for the seats reserved for them.

How To Apply:

Candidates seeking admission to IIIT-D will have to appear in the entrance test. Admission decision will be solely based on the merit in the entrance test, and all the seats will be filled through this test (that is, there is no "management quota"). The eligibility criterion on who can appear in the test is given below. Only students who satisfy the eligibility criteria are allowed to take the test and will be required to bring a attested copy of their mark sheet at the entrance test.

Application Procedure

Candidates who satisfy the eligibility criteria for the entrance test, can apply online (this is the only way to apply). They will have to print out their form, paste a recent passport size photograph, and send it with a draft for Rs 500 payable to "IIIT Delhi" as examination fee to at he following address (through speed post only). As the application form requires the bank draft no, a candidate must have the draft ready before filling the application form online.

Each candidate must keep a copy of this form, which is needed for appearing in the exam. The candidates who are selected through the entrance test will have to show, at the time of admission, original documents like mark sheet for class XII, proof of residency, etc. Anyonefound not satisfying the requirements or found having misrepresented the facts will be liable for cancellation of his/her candidature.

Admission to B. Pharmacy Course - 2009

Eligibility: (i) For admission to 85% State Quota Seats, the candidates) should be bonafide/ domicile of Himachal Pradesh. For admission to 15% All India Quota Seats, there is no such condition of bonafide /domicile of Himachal Pradesh.

(ii) Should have passed 10+2 examination from a recognized Board/ University with Physics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects along with one of the following subjects; Mathematics/ Biology Bio-Technology Computer Science.

Post Graduate Diploma In Management (PGDM)

An applicant should have a minimum of three-year Bachelor's Degree or equivalent with 50% marks in any discipline recognized by the Association of Indian Universities / AICTE. Candidates appearing for the final examination for the Bachelor's Degree can also apply, subject to furnishing evidence to that effect latest by 30th October 2009.

The course is of two years duration.

Applicants for PGDM program must have CAT/MAT/GMAT or ATMA or any other national level score to Apply. After applying shortlisting will be done on the basis of academics and CAT/MAT/ATMA/GMAT score. Only the shortlisted candidates will be called for the GD/PI session.

PGDM (Part-Time)
 
Fortune is launching its PGDM (International Business) Part Time Programme. The programme is approved by AICTE. For details contact Admission Director.

Admission Eligibility:
Bachelor's Degree with at least 50% marks from a recognized Indian or Foreign University/ Institute. Students from all disciplines are eligible to apply for PGDM programme. Students appearing in the final year examination of graduation in any stream expecting results by 31 October, 2009 are also eligible.

Eligible candidates appearing in the Combined Admission Test, CAT, are required to apply in the prescribed form available with the prospectus.

Admission Procedure:
Applicants will be short-listed for Group Discussion and Personal Interview to be conducted at Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Bangalore, Patna and/ or Lucknow on the basis of CAT score, academic qualification, experience and other academic or professional achievements.
