Applicant should have a Bachelor's Degree (10 + 2 + 3 (4) system) with minimum 50% marks or an equivalent qualification, in any discipline recognized by the Association of Indian Universities. Those appearing for the final examination of a Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent) are also eligible to apply.

Students with demonstrable aptitude for expressing, assessing or conceiving ideas that move people to action and achieve business results, will stand better chances of being shortlisted.

The selection process for the PGDM (C) involves three stages.

Stage-1 is the requirement of CAT/GMAT. Applicant should have CAT 2009 score or GMAT score of 31.12.2007 or later. Indian students can also apply with GMAT scores. GMAT score of 600+ will be considered in lieu of CAT. However short-listing, will depend on the number of applications. (The CAT cut-off percentile for 2009-2011 was 90 percentile and above overall, with sectional cut off of 50 percentile and above in DI & QT and 60 percentile and above for Verbal Comprehension)

Stage-II is MICA Admissions Test (MICAT) for candidates short-listed from CAT/GMAT, to be held in February/March at Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Delhi, Kolkata, and Mumbai, designed to assess analytical and divergent thinking, written communication skills and familiarity with the Indian ethos. Indian Nationals below 30 years of age and possessing a Bachelor's Degree in Agriculture or allied Disciplines such as Horticulture/Veterinary & Animal Science/Dairy Science/ Dairy Technology/Food Science/Food Technology/ Agricultural Engineering/ Agro forestry/ Home Science/Fisheries etc., from any Agricultural University or Institution recognized by ICAR with minimum 60% marks (55% for SC/ST) are eligible to apply. For MD/MS/M.Ch (6 years)/MDS courses, applicant should have MBBS/BDS Degree of a University, recognised by the MCI/DCI with 55% aggregate marks in all MBBS/BDS Professional Examinations (50% for SC/ST) and must complete the required period of 12 months pre-registration internship from a  recognised hospital on or before 30th January,2010. Candidates who have already done/are pursuing MD/MS/MDS at the time of counselling are not eligible for MD/MS/MDS courses.

For DM/M.Ch courses, applicant should have a Degree in MD/MS or DNB from a University recognised by the MCI in the respective discipline, the details of which are given in the notification available at www.aiims.edu and www.aiims.ac.in

Those who are likely to complete 3 years requisite tenure and Degree by 30th January, 2010 may also apply.  The upper age limit for admission to DM/M.Ch courses is 35 years (SC/ST candidates will get a relaxation of 5 years and OBC candidates a relaxation of 3 years) as on 1st January, 2010. There is no age limit for sponsored candidates. 

For admission to Master of Hospital Administration Course, the eligibility for Medical Graduates is an MBBS or an equivalent Degree with not less than 55% aggregate marks with three years experience in a recognised hospital or 5 years experience in General Practice. For non-medical graduates (eligible for sponsored seats only), eligibility is a Bachelor's Degree of a recognised University in Arts or Science or Nursing or Business Administration or Commerce or Engineering or any technical subject with at least 60% marks and 7 years experience in a responsible administrative position.

For Doctor of Philosophy, applicant should have a Degree of M.Sc or Masters Degree in any subject allied to Bio Medical Sciences or Master's Degree in Nursing with at least 60% marks or MD/MS or any equivalent Degree or Diplomate of the National Board of Examinations or MBBS Degree with not less than 55 % marks.

Those who are likely to complete the requisite qualification and awarded the Degree by 30th January, 2010 may also apply. Selection will be based on an Entrance Examination.

The Entrance Examination for MD/MS/M.Ch (6 years)/MDS will be held at Chennai, Delhi, Kolkata and Mumbai on 15th November 2009. The Examination for DM/M.Ch/MHA will be held on 13th December 2009 at Delhi only. The Entrance Examination for Ph.D will be held at Delhi on 17th January, 2010.

Department of Biochemistry, Indian Institute of Science Bangalore, has invited Applications from Indian nationals for the award of 'DBT-Research Associateship' for pursuing Research in frontier areas of Biotechnology and Applied Biology.

The Associateship is tenable in Research Institutional Universities including non-profit R&D Institutions within India. The Associateships are awarded under a program sponsored by the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India.

Applicants preferably below 40 years of age (below 45 years in case of women candidates), should hold Ph.D in Science, Engineering or M.D. or M.S Degree in any area of Medicine with research interests in Biotechnology and Life Sciences and a good academic record. The Associateship can be availed within 3 years of the award of Ph.D/M.D/M.S Degree but relaxable in case of women (by 2 years) and in-service candidates.Those who have already submitted the Ph.D/M.D/M.S thesis are also eligible to apply. Persons already employed are also eligible to apply. However, their applications should be routed through their employers.

The Research Associateship is a purely temporary assignment and is tenable for a period of 2 years. ln exceptional cases, depending upon the progress of the research, the Associateship maybe extended up to 5 years. Each fellow would be entitled to a stipend in the range of Rs.16,000 to Rs.18,000 per month and a research contingency grant of Rs. 50,000 per year, payable to the host Institution. Candidates who are yet to be awarded Ph.D/M.D/M.S Degree, if selected, will be paid Rs. 14,000 per month till the award of Degree. The Associate would also be entitled to HRA and other benefits as per DST guidelines applicable to Research Associateship.

The Associateships normally are not availed at the same Institution where candidates earned their Ph.D/M.D/M.S. Candidates who are already in regular employment cannot avail the Associateship at their host institutions. However, there will be no restriction for them to receive the salary and other benefits while availing the Associateship in Institutions other than their parent Institutions.

Selection will be based on C.V. and performance in the interview. The interview will be held at the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore in November 2009. Those applicants called for interview will be paid ll Class Railway (Non-AC) / Bus fare by the shortest route from their home town. If the candidate accepts the Associateship, he/she must join the host Institution/University within a month`s time.

Candidates may submit their application on plain paper along with Bio-data, list of Publications (attaching reprints of 2 important papers), copies of certificates (B.Sc., M.Sc., Ph.D/M.D/M.S), One page synopsis of Ph.D/M.D/M.S thesis and 2 letters of recommendation (Academic).  Applicant is advised to propose his/her place of work, Name of the Supervisor, enclose one page synopsis of proposed research which must he compatible with the on-going research of the proposed supervisor and his/her consent for availing the Associateship. They should also enclose a declaration stating that if selected for the Associateship, he/she will complete the tenure of the Associateship. However, they may be allowed to relinquish the Associateship only if accepting permanent employment in India. Those who had applied previously need not apply.

The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) 2010 for admission to the Under Graduate Courses at the Indian Institute of Technology, Institute of Technology-Bnaras Hindu University, Varanasi and Indian School of Mines University, Dhanbad will be held on 11th April 2010 (Sunday).

The examination will have two papers.

Paper I will be from 9 am to 12 noon and Paper II will be from 2 pm to 5 pm on 11th April 2010 (Sunday).
 
Both papers will have separate sections in Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics with objective type questions, designed to test comprehension, reasoning and analytical ability of candidates. The syllabus for the examination will be available at the websites of all IITs.

Application can be submitted on-line or off-line. Applications can be submitted online from November 1, 2009 (Sunday) to December 7, 2009 (Monday).

Off-line application process will commence on November 16, 2009 (Monday) and will continue till December 15, 2009 (Tuesday).
 
The last date for receipt of completed hard copy of applications at IITs will be December 19, 2009 (Saturday).

The All India Post Graduate Medical/Dental Entrance Examination (AIPGMEE-2010)
 
The All India Post Graduate Medical/Dental Entrance Examination (AIPGMEE-2010) for admission under the 50% seats quota in MD/MS/Diploma and MDS Courses in Medical and Dental Colleges in the country run by Union of India, State Governments (except Government of Andhra Pradesh and J&K) and Municipal or other local authorities, to be conducted by All India Institute of Medical Sciences, will be held on 10th January (Sunday), 2010.

Only Indian Nationals are eligible to apply. Applicant must possess MBBS/BDS Degree from a recognized Medical/Dental College or a Foreign Degree included in the schedule to the IMC Act, 1955 and full Registration either from the Medical/Dental Council of India or State Medical/Dental Council after completing the Compulsory Rotating Internship. Applicants, who have obtained MBBS/BDS from Medical/Dental Colleges in Andhra Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir, are not eligible to apply. However, those who were nominated by the Government of India (Ministry of Health & Family Welfare/ DGHS New Delhi) to do MBBS/BDS from Medical/Dental Colleges in Andhra Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir are eligible to apply subject to submission of requisite documents specified in the Prospectus. Applicant should complete the required period of 12 months pre-registration internship from a recognized Hospital on or before 31.3.2010.

ELIGIBILITY:

The selection process for the PGDM (C) involves three stages.

Stage-1 is the requirement of CAT/GMAT. Applicant should have CAT 2009 score or GMAT score of 31.12.2007 or later. Indian students can also apply with GMAT scores. GMAT score of 600+ will be considered in lieu of CAT. However short-listing, will depend on the number of applications. (The CAT cut-off percentile for 2009-2011 was 90 percentile and above overall, with sectional cut off of 50 percentile and above in DI & QT and 60 percentile and above for Verbal Comprehension)

Stage-II is MICA Admissions Test (MICAT) for candidates short-listed from CAT/GMAT, to be held in February/March at Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Delhi, Kolkata, and Mumbai, designed to assess analytical and divergent thinking, written communication skills and familiarity with the Indian ethos. Stage-III includes Group Exercise (GE) and Personal Interview (PI). Those short-listed on the basis of MICAT will be invited for Group Exercise and Personal Interview later in March/April 2010.

DBT-Research Associateship

Department of Biochemistry, Indian Institute of Science Bangalore, has invited Applications from Indian nationals for the award of 'DBT-Research Associateship' for pursuing Research in frontier areas of Biotechnology and Applied Biology.

The Associateship is tenable in Research Institutional Universities including non-profit R&D Institutions within India. The Associateships are awarded under a program sponsored by the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India.

Applicants preferably below 40 years of age (below 45 years in case of women candidates), should hold Ph.D in Science, Engineering or M.D. or M.S Degree in any area of Medicine with research interests in Biotechnology and Life Sciences and a good academic record. The Associateship can be availed within 3 years of the award of Ph.D/M.D/M.S Degree but relaxable in case of women (by 2 years) and in-service candidates.Those who have already submitted the Ph.D/M.D/M.S thesis are also eligible to apply. Persons already employed are also eligible to apply. However, their applications should be routed through their employers.

The Research Associateship is a purely temporary assignment and is tenable for a period of 2 years. ln exceptional cases, depending upon the progress of the research, the Associateship maybe extended up to 5 years. Each fellow would be entitled to a stipend in the range of Rs.16,000 to Rs.18,000 per month and a research contingency grant of Rs. 50,000 per year, payable to the host Institution. Candidates who are yet to be awarded Ph.D/M.D/M.S Degree, if selected, will be paid Rs. 14,000 per month till the award of Degree. The Associate would also be entitled to HRA and other benefits as per DST guidelines applicable to Research Associateship.

The Associateships normally are not availed at the same Institution where candidates earned their Ph.D/M.D/M.S. Candidates who are already in regular employment cannot avail the Associateship at their host institutions. However, there will be no restriction for them to receive the salary and other benefits while availing the Associateship in Institutions other than their parent Institutions.

Selection will be based on C.V. and performance in the interview. The interview will be held at the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore in November 2009. Those applicants called for interview will be paid ll Class Railway (Non-AC) / Bus fare by the shortest route from their home town. If the candidate accepts the Associateship, he/she must join the host Institution/University within a month`s time.

Candidates may submit their application on plain paper along with Bio-data, list of Publications (attaching reprints of 2 important papers), copies of certificates (B.Sc., M.Sc., Ph.D/M.D/M.S), One page synopsis of Ph.D/M.D/M.S thesis and 2 letters of recommendation (Academic).  Applicant is advised to propose his/her place of work, Name of the Supervisor, enclose one page synopsis of proposed research which must he compatible with the on-going research of the proposed supervisor and his/her consent for availing the Associateship. They should also enclose a declaration stating that if selected for the Associateship, he/she will complete the tenure of the Associateship. However, they may be allowed to relinquish the Associateship only if accepting permanent employment in India. Those who had applied previously need not apply.

Candidates appearing in the final year Bachelor's examination are eligible to apply. Such Candidates, if selected, will be given provisional admission subject to their clearing graduation. The certification of the same has to be submitted before 1st Semester exams.

 

Selection Criteria:-

Admission to IIF programs is very rigorous. The admission to regular program is through written test (CAT (>65%)/XAT (>65%)/AIMAT (>650) /GMAT/GRE (700) (USA)), Group Discussion (GD) and Interview. Candidates who qualify for written test are called for GD and Interview.

 

Exemption from Written Test : Graduation / Post Graduation marks [> 85 %] for Engineering / Technical / Science streams & [> 70 %] for Commerce & Arts streams); NRIs, Top three University Toppers, First College Topper & Celebrities in Sports, Arts, Music, Dance & Modelling etc. Candidates exempted from written test are required to take GD and Interview.

 

The Grades are given on the basis of candidate's past academic records, other achievements, work experience, professional growth positioning and personal interview for all categories of candidates.

NRI/Foreign/Corporate sponsored candidates are exempt from written test. However, all such candidates are required to appear for GD and interview. There is no written test for candidates applying for EMBF and FBA Finance. However, the admission to EMBF & FBA is through interview and GPS.
