Selection process for those satisfying the eligibility requirements, involves two stages, a Written Test (Stage 1) and Group Discussion and Personal Interview (Stage 2).

The Written Test will be conducted from 11 am to 1 pm on April 18, 2010 at Ahmedabad, Aurangabad, Bangaluru, Bhubaneshwar, Delhi, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Indore, Jaipur, Kolkata, Kozhikode, Leh, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, Patna, Portblair , Ranchi and Tuljapur.

The Written Test will be for 2 hours and will carry 100 Marks and is aimed at testing the knowledge of the candidates about Indian society, economy and polity, and to test comprehension. General knowledge will also be tested. There will be questions to assess the attitude of students towards social issues and the aptitude for social work.

General/PWD candidates need a minimum of 50% marks, OBC candidates, 47.5 % marks and SC/ST candidates, 45% marks in the Written Test to qualify for the Group Discussion and Personal Interview.

Pre-admission coaching for SC/ST/OBC Non-Creamy Layer)/Minority applicants will be organized on April 16 and 17, 2010, in the Tuljapur Campus of TISS. They can have their written test in Tuljapur Campus of TISS.

All India Pre-Veterinary Test (AIPVT)-2010

Veterinary Council of India, has notified the All India Pre-Veterinary Test (AIPVT)-2010 for filling up the 15% of total seats of the 1st year B.V.Sc & A.H course (spread over 5 academic years including compulsory rotating internship of six months), in Government Veterinary Colleges in India (except from Jammu & Kashmir State), for academic session 2010-11.

The Examination will be held from 2 pm to 5 pm on 8th May, 2010 (Saturday) at the Centres specified in the Information Bulletin.Students from the State of Jammu & Kashmir are not eligible to appear in this test, as that State has not adopted the provisions of the Indian Veterinary Council Act, 1984 in the State of Jammu & Kashmir. The details may be seen in the Information Bulletin/website.

Applicant should be an Indian National and should have passed Higher Secondary Examination or the Indian School Certificate Examination equivalent to 10+2 Higher/Senior Secondary Examination after a period of 12 years of study the last two years of study with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and any other elective subject with English at a level not less than the core course for English as prescribed by the National Council for Education Research and Training after the introduction of the 10+2+3 (years) educational structure as recommended by the National Committee on Education or the Intermediate Science examination in science from a recognized University/Board with Physics, Chemistry and Biology (which shall include a practical test in these subjects) and English, securing a minimum of 50% marks (General Category) in aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English at 10+2 /Intermediate Science Examination and should have passed these  subjects individually also. SC/ST/OBC applicants require 10% less marks than that prescribed for General Category.

Those taking the qualifying examination prior to the Entrance Examination, or whose result is awaited, can also apply for AIPVT. Their admission will be subject to their passing the qualifying examination with the required percentage of marks latest by 30th June, 2010 and submitting documentary proof during counseling, if selected.

Applicant should have attained or should attain the age of 17 years as on 31st December, 2010.

Tata Institute of Social Sciences  (TISS),  has invited applications for admission to M.A/M.Sc in Habitat Policy and Practice for 2010-12. The programme, focuses on policies and practice of policy in the Habitat Sector with substantive focus on urban sectors and urban issues. The total intake is 15.

Applicant should have a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Management, Physical Sciences, Geography, Planning, Law or Social Sciences with some inclination towards habitat-related issues/sectors. Professionals working in different sub-sectors of the habitat sector or the urban sector are also eligible, provided they possess the minimum academic qualifications. Apart from the minimum academic qualifications, proficiency in written and spoken English and basic capabilities in Mathematics would be desirable and helpful to students in making best of what the programme offers.

Those in the final year of Bachelor's Degree programme, but have not passed in all the courses (Main/Major/Subsidiary etc.) of first and second years (if the Degree is of 3 years duration) and first, second and third years (if the Degree is of 4 years duration) on the day of applying for the programme are not eligible to apply.

Those who have been declared as failed in the final year examination are also not eligible to apply, unless they pass their Bachelor's Degree examination on the day of applying for the programme.

Selection process will include a Written Test carrying 100 marks and a Personal Interview carrying 70 marks.The Written Test having Two Parts, will be held on 7th March, 2010, at Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Guwahati and Kolkata. Part I of the written test is an Objective Test of 45 minutes duration and will consist of 3 parts, namely (i) General awareness/Knowledge about Current/Contemporary Social issues (ii) Analytical/Logical reasoning and Quantitative ability and (iii) Verbal reasoning. Part II of the Written Test is the 'Programme-Based' test of 60 minutes duration is. The Written Test aims to assess Critical Analysis, Sensitivity to Social and Environmental Issues, General Awareness/Knowledge about Current/Contemporary Social Issues, Analytical/Logical Reasoning and Quantitative Ability and Verbal Reasoning. Those short-listed for the Personal Interview to be held at Mumbai Campus on 29th & 30th March, 2010/ 9th & 10th May, 2010 (actual date for a candidate will be put up on the TISS website and will also be intimated to the candidate through email), have to submit the Detailed Application Form online, which will be available at www.tiss.edu after declaration of the results of the Written Test on 15th March, 2010. They will also be required to bring a hard copy of the filled in Detailed Application Form along with photocopies of all documents and two passport-sized photographs while attending Personal Interview. The EFL is the  only All India English Language Testing Authority and  it will award a certificate of proficiency  to all successful candidates  above the age of 16. Test  fee  for General category is Rs. 1500/- for SC / ST  Rs. 750/-,  foreign nationals  Rs. 2000/-. Eligibility: Candidate should have Passed with minimum of 50% marks in aggregate* (45% in case of candidates of backward class categories belonging to Maharashtra State only) in any Full Time Bachelor's degree of minimum three years duration in any discipline recognised by the Association of Indian Universities.

Appeared for the final year examination of any Full Time Bachelor's degree of minimum three years duration in any discipline recognised by the Association of Indian Universities.

1. For the academic year 2010-11, both the Maharashtra State and OMS candidates who have appeared/appearing for the CAT 2009 are considered eligible for admission against the All India Seats subject to the fulfillment of eligibility criteria mentioned in the Information Brochure. Such candidates are also required to procure the Information Brochure along with Application kit and submit & confirm the Online Application form.
2. For admission to MBA/MMS/PGDBM/PGDM course, the candidate is required to score minimum 30 marks in MAH-MBA/MMS-CET 2010. Candidates seeking admission on the basis of CAT 2009 are required to obtain minimum equivalent score.

How To Apply: Availability of Information Brochure along with Application Kit: The Director of Technical Education, Maharashtra State, Mumbai continues the system of online receipt of application form for MBA/MMS/PGDBM/PGDM for the year 2010-11.
• Information brochure along with the Application Kit for the aspiring candidates will be available at the identified post offices mentioned below during contact hours from 18/01/2010 to 02/02/2010 (excluding Public Holidays) against the payment of the application form processing fees.
• It is mandatory to procure the information brochure and go through it carefully. The CET that will be conducted in pursuance of this advertisement is subject to the rules and regulations set out in this information brochure. The further admission process, especially in respect of Private Unaided Institutes will be in terms of the clarification read with aforesaid rules and regulations.
• Submission of the application form in response to this advertisement will amount to accepting the afore said rules & regulations unequivocally by the applicant and upon such submission it will be presumed that the applicant agrees and accepts these rules & regulations as legal, valid and  correct. It will not be open for any applicant, once having submitted the application form to question the legality, validity and correctness of these rules & regulations.
• The Centralized Admission Process will consist of first 3 rounds of allotment and the fourth (i.e. last) round of counseling. Candidates are instructed to carefully read the Annexure-I of the Information Brochure to understand the eligibility criteria for participating in each round.

Submission and Confirmation of Online Application Form:

• For the submission and confirmation of the online Application Form the candidates are required to use the Application ID and Password provided in the Application Kit. Candidates are also required to upload his/her photo and signature as per the instructions given in the Application Kit. Candidates are advised to preserve the Application Kit carefully and not to disclose the Application ID & Password to others to avoid impersonation.
• In order to take the printout of the online submitted Application form and the printout of the Hall Ticket for the CET, it is mandatory for all the candidates to confirm the Online submitted

Application form and such applications only will be considered valid for further processing.
• Applications sent by Post/Courier etc. to ARCs/DTE office will be rejected and no communication in this regard will be done with the candidates.
• It should be noted that no documents are required to be submitted at this stage. Candidates are advised keep the necessary documents ready at the time of Document verification stage scheduled in the month of May 2010.

ABOUT ASEE-2010
The Scholarships are available for all courses. For Post Graduate courses the value of scholarship is Rs. 1 lakh each (Rs. 48,000/ each in case of M.Sc. Chemistry) and for UG course, Rs. 72,000/ each . Students applying for management seats are not eligible for scholarship. Selection will be through a written test. Candidates, meeting the eligibility criteria, will be called for the written test held on 18th, April, 2010. Such successful candidates according to course and seats will be informed by post. If candidates secure same marks in the ASEE-2010, the selection will be based on their academic record. Written examination will be held in following cities namely Dehradun, Kanpur, Kolkata, and Hardoi (UP). Each candidate must indicate his/her preference for the centre in the application. No TA/DA will be paid to the candidates to attend the exam under any circumstances. The candidates appearing in the qualifying exam may also apply. The scholarship will be provided to the successful and eligible candidate after taking admission in the GCBMS Dehradun.

HOW TO APPLY
A. Application must be sent in the format for "Application Format ASEE-2010" which can be downloaded (Click here to Download Form) from our website http://www.gcbms.co.in or may be obtained from "Gayatri College of Biomedical science GMS Road, Ballupur Chowk, Dehradun-248001, UK, India."
B. Fill the application form very carefully. No column should be left blank. Write NA/NIL if no details are available. Do not attach copies of the certificates along with the application.
C. Two photographs duly signed by the applicant must be affixed on the space provided in the application format. Unsigned applications will be rejected (photograph as well as declaration).
D. Candidates should send application by speed post/ registered post.
E. If the application form is bought from the GCBMS office, no Demand Draft as exam fee is needed.
F. The application form along with a Demand Draft of Rs.500/ (for general candidates) or Rs.400/ (for SC/ ST/ OBC candidates) as entrance examination fee in favor of "Director, Gayatri College of Biomedical Science" payable at Dehradun should reach to the following address on or before 27/02/2010 through registered post/ speed post.

A Fellow participant is normally expected to complete the programme in 4 years. However, s/he can submit the draft thesis any time after the completion of 3 years. In a few special cases, the tenure of Fellow participants can be extended for six months but with reduced rate of fellowship.

Eligibility
• Academic Eligibility: One of the following qualifications will be required as basic eligibility.

a. Post-Graduate degree or equivalent in any discipline (including M.A, M.Sc., M.Com, MBA, MCA, M.Tech etc) with at least 55% marks or equivalent CGPA.

b. Professional qualifications of CA, ICWA and CS with at least 50% marks or equivalent.

c. Professional qualifications such as MBBS and LLB with at least 55% marks or equivalent CGPA *

d. Engineering degrees, viz., B.Tech and BE, with at least 60% marks or equivalent CGPA*

• for c & d above additional minimum 3 years relevant experience required for applying to Marketing Area.

Those appearing for the final exams can also apply; but, their final selection will be subject to successful completion of the requirement by June 30, 2010. Their admission will be provisional till they produce the required certificates of qualification before December 2010. All relevant qualifications mentioned above must be granted by appropriate bodies in India or abroad and recognized as equivalent.

Eligibility Criteria:

Admissions to the Distance Education diploma programmes are open to all those who fulfill prescribed qualifications without any discrimination of race, caste, creed, language, age or sex. Admissions are made strictly on the basis of merit. There is No Entrance Examination. The marks obtained by the applicants in their graduate examination (i.e., B.A. / B.Sc. / B.Com. / B.Lib.Sc. / B.E. / B.Tech. / M.A. / M.Sc. / M.Com. / MBA etc.) is the basis on which the merit list for admission is prepared for all courses. Therefore only students who have completed their courses/degree or at least have taken their final examinations (awaiting results) are eligible to apply for admission into these Post-Graduate Diploma Programmes. However, additional academic qualifications and professional experience are taken into consideration for all admissions. (For courses to be offered in 2010, only students who are graduated on or before 31-12-09 or have taken the final examination in September/October 2009 and are waiting for results are eligible to apply).

The target groups for these programmes are either in-service personnel looking to improve their skills and knowledge or fresh graduates wishing to acquire qualification and improve their employability. Students pursuing other full time or part-time courses in this University or other Universities / Institutions may also seek admission to these programmes provided they fulfill the eligibility criteria.

The University reserves the right to decide to conduct the course and also the exact number of students to be admitted in each programme, depending on the demand for the course and its course delivery capacity.

The eligibility of students passing their qualifying examinations from Universities following the letter-grading system/Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) will be determined on the basis of percentage equivalent to the letter grade/CGPA obtained by the students as per the conversion formula adopted by the University concerned. In the absence of any such formula, the decision of this University will be final in determining the percentage equivalence.

The application material can also be obtained by post from the office of the ASSISTANT REGISTRAR (ACADEMIC), I.S.M. by sending an A/c payee Demand Draft of Rs.600/-for SC/ST/PD applicants only and of Rs.1,150/-for all other categories of applicants, payable at Dhanbad and drawn in favour of the Registrar, I.S.M., Dhanbad, along with a self addressed unstamped envelope of A4 size.

Educational Qualification
