The national university of educational planning and administration (NUEPA), a premier organization of its kind in South Asia, is engaged in capacity building and research in educational policy, planning and administration.

NUEPA, which is fully maintained by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, govt of India, offers M.Phil., fulltime, Ph.D. and part-time Ph.D. programmes in educational policy, planning and administration from a broader interdisciplinary social science perspective

The research programmes of NUEPA cover all levels and types of education from both national and international development perspectives

NUEPA invites applications from eligible candidates for admission to its M.Phil., Ph.D. and part-time Ph.D. programmes for the year 2010-11

While selecting the candidates for admission, NUEPA will follow all mandatory provisions in the reservation policy of the Government of India. Admissions to M.Phil., Ph.D. and part-time Ph.D programmes will be made purely on the basis of merit following the prescribed criteria of the University

Fellowship: Candidates admitted for M.Phil., full-time Ph.D. will be provided fellowship by the University. The NET qualified candidates, who have been awarded junior research fellowships by the UGC and who fulfill the required qualifications, are encouraged to apply

Eligibility criteria

Full-time programmes: A candidate seeking admission to the M.Phil., Ph.D. programmes shall have a minimum of 55% marks (50% marks for SC/ST candidates and persons with disabilities) or its equivalent grade in Master's degree in education, social sciences and allied disciplines from a recognized university. Candidates possessing Master's degree in other areas may also be considered if he/she has proven record of work/publication in the area of educational policy, planning and administration

A candidate seeking admission to Ph.D. programme shall have an M.Phil. degree in an area closely related to educational planning and administration and/or exceptionally brilliant academic record coupled with publications of high quality

M.Phil. graduates of NUEPA will be eligible for admission to the Ph.D. programme after due scrutiny by a selection/ admission committee, if they obtain a FGPA of 6 or above on the ten point scale. This will be applicable for all admissions from 2008 onwards

Part-time programme: Candidate seeking admission to part-time Ph.D. programme is required to meet the following criteria (i) should possess the educational qualifications as required; (ii) currently, should be in full-time employment; (iii) should be a senior level educational functionary with a minimum of five years work experience in teaching, educational planning and administration

Mode of selection: University reserves the right to decide the number of seats to be filled in the year 2010-11; the criteria for screening of applications; and the selection procedure of candidates for admission to its M.Phil., Ph.D. programmes. The mode of selection of candidates will be as under

(i) Initial short-listing of applications will be carried out on the basis of relevance and quality of the brief write-up (in the prescribed format) in the proposed area of research to be submitted along with the application form;

(ii) Short-listed candidates will be subjected to second level of screening through which the University will assess their motivation and potential.

How to apply: Candidates may apply in the prescribed form for admission to M.Phil., Ph.D. programmes of the University along with three copies of the brief write-up (in the prescribed format) on the proposed research topic of a contemporary issue within the broad framework of educational policy, planning and administration.

A special fellowship of Rs. 15000/- per month is also available for outstanding candidates in each of the following subjects (i) Statistics, (ii) Mathematics, (iii) Computer Science, (iv) Quantitative Economics and (v) Quality, Reliability and Operations Research.

Selection of candidates is based on academic record, written tests and interviews conducted by the Institute. Due consideration is given to SC/ST/OBC/Physically Challenged candidates for all programmes from 1 to 8 above (i.e., excluding Junior Research Fellowship programme). Eligibility
Minimum requirements:The minimum qualification for admission to any of the programs at IIIT-B is a first-class four-year bachelor's degree in engineering (i.e. B.E., B.Tech., or equivalent). First class degree holders in 3-year undergraduate programs followed by masters degree with first class in any of the physical sciences, or an MCA degree with first class, can also apply. Final-year students expecting to graduate by August 2010 may also apply. First class or equivalent is required in 10th and 12th (or equivalent) grades as well.

Selection procedure: Admission to the M.Tech. program is on the basis of prior academic performance (at the high school level and beyond), performance in the IIIT-B's online admissions test and an admission interview. Applicants with good scores in the GATE examination and GRE examination may be eligible for waiver of entrance examination.

Entrance exam waiver

Candidates with GATE scores:Applicants having valid GATE scores from selected disciplines are welcome to apply for the M.Tech. program. Such applicants may qualify for waiver of the entrance examination.

Candidates with GRE scores

Applicants who meet the minimum requirements and have valid GRE general test scores are welcome to apply for the M.Tech. program. Such applicants may also qualify for waiver of the entrance examination.

International students

Foreign nationals (FNs) and non-resident Indians (NRIs) are welcome to apply for the M.Tech. program. Such applicants can obtain a waiver of the entrance examination with valid GRE and TOEFL scores. Only those students whose undergraduate education was in an Anglophone country (i.e. Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Singapore, UK, and the US) are exempt from TOEFL. FNs and NRIs who are short listed for the interview, can also seek waiver of the interview by submitting three letters of recommendation.

Working professionals

Working professionals applying for the M.Tech. program must get leave for the duration of the M.Tech. program. Such applications have to be sent through the employer (or accompanied by a letter from a supervisor or other authorized representative of the employer stating that there is no objection to the applicant's joining IIIT-B as a student). Working students will also need sponsorship from the employer, or obtain support from other sources to meet their costs, as scholarships and other financial support are not available to working students.

How to apply: Applicants may either apply online at our website or apply offline by requesting for a paper-based application form.

The following fees are applicable

Application fee - Rs. 250/-, online entrance exam fee - Rs. 750/-

The application fee together with the entrance exam fee (a total of Rs. 1000/-) is payable by all the candidates who do not wish to apply for entrance exam waiver. However, candidates who wish to apply for entrance exam waiver can do so by entering the GATE or GRE scores in the application form. Such candidates have to pay only the application fee of Rs. 250/- at the time of registration. Notification of waiver of entrance exam will happen by 26th March 2010. Candidates who do not obtain waiver of entrance exam but wish to appear in the entrance exam may do so by paying the entrance exam fee of Rs. 750/- by 2nd April 2010.

For those who are seeking entrance exam waiver through GATE/GRE scores, only the application fee of Rs 250/- is payable at the time of submitting the application. For these candidates, the online entrance exam fee of Rs. 750/- is payable only if they do not waivers for the entrance exam.

Do not send the exam fee to the institute. This should be sent only to the address mentioned in the application form.

Scholarships: The Institute has offered about 25 scholarships (out of the 140+ students admitted in 2009) to meritorious students joining the M.Tech Program. The institute expects to offer a similar number of industry-funded scholarships in 2010 as well. The scholarship amount covers almost all student expenses over the duration of their M.Tech. The selection for these scholarships is carried out by the industry representatives along with IIIT-B faculty. 2010 scholarship sponsors include; Intel, Infosys, ABB, Siemens, AMD, HP and EMC.

NITAT 2010 - National IT Aptitude Test


The National IT Aptitude Test (NITAT), which enables students and graduates to gauge their aptitude and potential for a career in the booming IT industry, will be conducted in 160 cities across the country on 21th February, 2010

The country's largest aptitude test is conducted by NIIT, country's largest trainer. NITAT 2010 (IT aptitude test) will be simultaneously conducted by NIIT in over 160 cities in the country on 21th February, 2010

Those desirous of taking the test should register online on or at the nearest NIIT centres.

The test will comprise of objective type test of reasoning, comprehension, data interpretation skills and behavioural traits. Every student who takes the test will receive a scorecard with their interpretation, along with his nationwide and zonal ranking. The assessment is expected to be of particular benefit to graduating engineers in deciding the careers that they should take up. The test is aimed at enabling students to gauge their aptitude for a career in the IT sector, identify skills further required, if any, and thus systematically charter their career into the IT industry.


According to an NIIT press release, special recognition certificates to toppers will be invited to attend a special placement fair at several locations across the country.

M.Sc (Economics): This is a two-year programme commencing August 2010

Eligibility
Minimum qualifications: B.A./B.Sc in Economics/B.Com/B.Stat/B.Sc (Physics or mathematics)/B.Tech/B.E with at least a second division for Economics discipline and first division for other disciplines. The applicant must have studied mathematics at the higher secondary level or should be able to demonstrate equivalent mathematical ability

Some need-based scholarships are available to Masters students as per institute's norms. The second year Masters students are eligible to express interest to work as graduate assistants and depending upon the availability and norms, might be awarded such assistantships

M.Phil/Ph.D (development studies): These are interdisciplinary programmes commencing August 2010. The duration of M.Phil programme is two years and that of Ph.D programme is four years

Eligibility
Minimum qualification: M.A./M.Sc in Economics/M.Stat/M.SC (physics or mathematics or environmental science or operations research)/MBA/M.Tech/M.E./B.Tech/B.E with at least 55% aggregate marks for Economics discipline and 60% aggregate marks for other disciplines. The applicant must have studied mathematics at the higher secondary level or should be able to demonstrate equivalent mathematical ability

Stipend: M.Phil/Ph.D students receive a monthly stipend of Rs 12,000/- in the first two years. Those students, who fulfill the terms and conditions for Ph.D registration, would receive a monthly stipend of Rs 18,000/- after Ph.D registration in the third year.

Selection procedure: Candidates will be selected on the basis of their performance in a written test and an interview. The written test emphasizes general aptitude, analytical ability and mathetical skills.

The test will be held on Sunday, April 25, 2010 at the following centres, Ahmedabad, Allahabad, Chandigarh, Bangalore, Bhopal, Bhubaneshwar, Chennai, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, New Delhi, Thiruvananthapuram

The test venue will be notified in the call letter. Based on the performance in the written test, short listed candidates will be called for an interview at IGIDR around the first week of July 2010. (2) Candidates with B.E/B.Tech or equivalent degree who may not have qualified in any of the above mentioned national entrance tests will also be considered for the Ph.D program in Engineering. Short listing for interview of such candidates is based on their academic performance in the qualifying degree (upto 3rd year in B.E/B.Tech), and their performance in 10th and 12th /PUC examinations.

iii. Integrated Ph.D program

Biological, Chemical, Physical and Mathematical Sciences

Eligibility: First-class in B.Sc degree under 10+2+3 years system as indicated below for the various disciplines.

Biological sciences: B.Sc degree or equivalent in Physical, Chemical or Biological sciences (including Pharmaceutical, Veterinary and Agricultural sciences)

Chemical sciences: B.Sc degree or equivalent with Chemistry as one of the main subjects associated with Mathematics at PUC (Plus 2) level.

Physical sciences: B.Sc degree or equivalent with Physics as a main subject.

Mathematical sciences: B.Sc degree or equivalent with Mathematics as one of the subjects or Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Technology.

All the candidates should qualify in IISc entrance test scheduled for 25th April 2010. The short-listing of candidates for interview is based on performance in the IISc Entrance Test.

iv. External registration program (Ph.D only)

It is a sponsored research program for working professionals from (1) R&D organizations/ Industries and (2) for faculty members from engineering, Agricultural, Pharmaceutical, Veterinary, Medical colleges/ Universities, recognized  by the appropriate government agencies.

Ph D in science: All the science departments as indicated in (i) except High Energy Physics and Solid State and Structural Chemistry.

Ph.D in engineering: All the engineering departments as indicated in (i).

Eligibility: Qualifications remain the same as for the regular candidates. Apart from that the candidates should have two years of continuous service in a permanent position in the current organization

Age: Not higher than 40 years as on 01.04.2010.

Desirable: Qualifying in one of the tests; IISc entrance test, CSIR-UGC NET for JRF, UGC-NET for JRF, DBT JRF, ICMR JRF, GATE, NBHM, etc.

Selection is based on individual's performance in the interview to be conducted at the IISc.

Reservation for SC/ST/PH and Kashmiri-Migrant candidates: As per the govt of India regulations. (Grade/class of qualifying examination is relaxed to a pass class for SC/ST candidates).

The Institute accepts the scores received at the any of the "Accepted Qualifying Examinations" namely, CET/ ATMA / CAT / GATE / MAT / GMAT / GRE / XAT written anytime during the 24 months preceding July 1, 2008 as an additional weight age.

It is not mandatory that applicant must have valid score of "Accepted Qualifying Examinations". However, those applicants who have valid scores in any of the above qualifying examinations will be awarded additional points while computing the merit list.

Application procedure: All students who would like to apply for any of the Advanced Postgraduate Programs would have to register and apply online (www.isquareit.ac.in)

Before applying online they are requested to make a demand draft of Rs. 1500/- (Rupees One Thousand Five Hundred only) drawn in favour of International Institute of Information Technology payable at Pune towards a non-refundable registration fee. AIIMS Entrance Examination for MBBS - 2010

Applications are invited in the prescribed form for admission to MBBS Course commencing on 1st August, 2010. Entrance Examination will be held on 01.06.2010 (Tuseday). Application forms, complete in all respects, must reach AIIMS, New Delhi latest by 5.00 PM on 25.03.2010.
 
Eligibility:
1.      Candidates who have passed 12th class examination under 10+2 system or an equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English securing a minimum of 60% marks (50% in case of Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe candidates) aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English or whose results of Class-XII are likely to be declared by 7th July, 2010 are eligible to apply.
2.      The candidate should have attained the age of 17 (seventeen) years as on 31st December, 2010.

The Bank Draft should be valid up to July/August 2010. The name of the course applied for must be written on reverse of the Demand Draft along with candidate's name. The request must reach the Assistant Controller of Examinations, All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Ansari Nagar, New Delhi – 110608 on or before 15.03.2010. Money Order/Cheque/Postal Order/Cash or any other form of payment will NOT be accepted for postal sale. The words "REQUEST FOR APPLICATION FORM FOR MBBS ENTRANCE EXAMINATION 2010" should be written on the envelope containing request for application form, and also on top of the request letter. The address at which Application Form is required should be written clearly in CAPITAL LETTERS with PIN code. AIIMS will not be responsible for delay in/non-receipt of Application Form caused by illegible or incomplete address.

1. Those making payment through Challan Form must submit Counter Foil of challan form meant for AIIMS in original along with hard copy of Application Form failing which application form will not be considered and no correspondence in this regard will be entertained.

Applications are invited for MAH-MCA-CET 2010 for admission to First Year of three-year Full Time Post Graduate Degree Course in MCA in the Government, Govt. Aided, University Managed, University Departments and Unaided Institutes in the Maharashtra State.
 
Eligibility Criteria for appearing to MAH-MCA-CET 2010:
The basic qualification mentioned at rule no. 2.1 of the information brochure for the academic year 2010-2011 is modified as follows:

To be read as
"2.1 Basic Qualification: In order to secure admission to first year of three-year full time MCA course, the candidate should fulfill the following eligibility criteria;

Passed with minimum of 45% marks in aggregate (40% in case of candidates of backward class categories belonging to Maharashtra State only) in any Bachelor's degree of minimum three years duration in any discipline recognized by the Association of Indian Universities and having studied Mathematics or Statistics as one of the subjects at 10+2 level or higher level examination.

OR

Appeared for the final year examination of any Bachelor's degree of minimum three years duration in any discipline recognised by the Association of Indian Universities. Such candidates can be considered for provisional admission subject to passing the Degree exam with minimum of 45% marks in aggregate (40% in case of candidates of backward class categories belonging to Maharashtra State only) and having studied Mathematics or Statistics as one of the subjects at 10+2 level or higher level examination.
 
OR

Passed with any Bachelor's degree of minimum three years duration in any discipline AND passed in any Post Graduate degree course of minimum two years duration recognized by the Association of Indian Universities in any discipline with minimum 45% marks in aggregate (40% in case of candidates of backward class categories belonging to Maharashtra State only) and having studied Mathematics or Statistics as one of the subjects at 10+2 level or higher level examination.

OR

Passed with any Bachelor's degree of minimum three years duration in any discipline AND Appeared for the final year examination of any Post Graduate degree of minimum two years duration in any discipline recognised by the Association of Indian Universities. Such candidates can be considered for provisional admission subject to passing the Post Graduate Degree exam with minimum of 45% marks in aggregate (40% in case of candidates of backward class categories belonging to Maharashtra State only) and having studied Mathematics or Statistics as one of the subjects at 10+2 level or higher level examination."

The eligibility criteria mentioned at rule no 2.1 of information brochure for the academic year 2010-2011 will be applicable for the academic year 2011-2012.

How To Apply: Availability of Information Brochure along with Application Kit:

 

The Director of Technical Education, Maharashtra State, Mumbai continues the system of online receipt of application form for MCA for the year 2010-11.
Information brochure along with the Application Kit for the aspiring candidates will be available at the select post offices mentioned below only during working hours of the respective post offices from 08/02/2010 to 19/02/2010 (excluding Public Holidays) against the payment of the application form processing fees.
It is mandatory to procure the information brochure and go through it carefully. The CET that will be conducted in pursuance of this advertisement is subject to the rules and regulations set out in this information brochure. The further admission process, especially in respect of Private Unaided Institutes will be in terms of the clarification read with aforesaid rules and regulations.
Submission of the application form in response to this notification will amount to accepting the afore said rules & regulations unequivocally by the applicant and upon such submission it will be presumed that the applicant agrees and accepts these rules & regulations as legal, valid and correct. It will not be open for any applicant, once having submitted the application form to question the legality, validity and correctness of these rules & regulations.
The Centralized Admission Process will consist of first 2 rounds of allotment and the third (ie last) round of counseling. Candidates are instructed to carefully read the Annexure-I of the Information Brochure to understand the eligibility criteria for participating in each round.
 NRI candidates are eligible to apply for admission against Institute level seats in Private Unaided Management Institutes. Please refer information Brochure for details.
Application form processing fees as stated below is to be paid at the identified post offices, in cash only. No other mode of payment shall be permitted.

 

For Open Category Candidates from Maharashtra State, Outside Maharashtra State (OMS), J & K Migrant candidates and NRI/Foreign National/Foreign Students/ PIO/Children of Indian Workers in the Gulf Countries Candidates  Rs 750/-
For Candidates of Backward Class Categories [SC, ST, VJDT NT(A), NT(B), NT(C), NT(D), OBC, SBC] belonging to Maharashtra State only.  Rs 550/-
J & K Migrant candidates who wish to apply against J & K Migrant quota and also against OMS quota are required to pay total fee of Rs. 1500/- (Two separate receipts of Rs.750/- each). Such candidates will be required to register as both J&K and OMS candidate and one Hall ticket will be generated after confirmation of online application form.
 This fee is non-refundable and non-transferable under any circumstances.

Submission and Confirmation of Online Application Form:
Aspiring candidates will be able to submit and confirm the Online Application form through the www.dte.org.in/mca through any computer connected to Internet.
For the submission and confirmation of the online Application Form the candidates are required to use the Application ID and Password provided in the Application Kit. Candidates are also required to upload his/her photo with signature as per the instructions given in the Application Kit. Candidates are advised to preserve the Application Kit carefully and not to disclose the Application ID & Password to others to avoid impersonation.
In order to take the printout of the Online submitted Application form and the printout of the Hall Ticket for the CET, it is mandatory for all the candidates to confirm the Online submitted Application form and such confirmed applications only will be considered valid for further processing.
Applications sent by Post/Courier etc. to ARCs/DTE office will be rejected and no communication in this regard will be done with the candidates.
 It should be noted that no documents are required to be submitted at this stage. Candidates are advised to keep the necessary documents ready at the time of Document verification stage scheduled in the month of May/June 2010.
