Applications are invited from eligible candidates for admission to the following postgraduate degree/diploma courses of Ranchi University and conducted at this Institute, commencing from May 2, 2011.

GROUP A
1. M.D. (Psychiatry) .. 5 seats (UR-4, OBC-1)
Duration .. 3 years (exemption of one year is granted to those who have passed Diploma of 2 years duration in the same subject).
Qualification .. M.B.B.S. degree of any University recognized by Medical Council of India, with one year rotating Internship completed by February, 15, 2011.
2. Diploma in Psychological Medicine .. 9 seats (UR- 6, OBC-2, SC-1)
Duration .. 2 years
Qualification .. M.B.B.S. degree of any University recognized by Medical Council of India, with one year rotating Internship completed by February, 15, 2011.

GROUP B
3. Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology .. 4 seats (UR-4)
Duration .. 3 years for M.A./M.Sc.(Psychology) degree holders and 2 years after M.Phil in Medical & Social Psychology/
Clinical Psychology
Qualification .. First Class Master’s degree in Psychology regular course
Or M.Phil in Medical & Social Psychology/ Clinical Psychology of any recognized University, for 3 years and 2 years course respectively.
4. M.Phil in Medical & Social Psychology .. 18 seats (UR-9, OBC-5, SC-3, ST-1)
Duration .. 2 years
Qualification .. M.A./M.Sc. in Psychology regular course of a recognized University with minimum 50% marks in the aggregate.

GROUP C
5. M.Phil in Psychiatric Social Work .. 12 seats (UR-7, OBC-3, SC-1, ST-1)
Duration .. 2 years
Qualification .. M.A. in Sociology or Social Work regular course of a recognized University with minimum 50% marks in the aggregate.

GROUP D
6. Diploma in Psychiatric Nursing .. 18 seats (UR-9, OBC-5, SC-3, ST-1)
Duration .. One year
Qualification .. ‘A’ Grade Certificate or Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery.
Experience .. Two years experience as Staff Nurse.
02 seats are reserved for Physically Handicapped candidates.


Group A: For MD(Psychiatry) and D.P.M.:- Selected candidates may be considered for Residency Scheme as applicable to the Central Government Institutions. The residency scheme is limited and may not be available to some candidates joining the course on seats reserved for OBC candidates. However, it may be provided subject to sanctioning of the same by the Government.

Group B & C: Selected candidates may be considered for scholarship of Rs. 8000/- per month in the first and second year, and Rs. 9000/- per month in the third year. The scholarships is limited and may not be available to some candidates joining the course on seats reserved for OBC candidates. However, it may be provided subject to sanctioning of the same by the Government.

Group D: Selected candidates may be considered for scholarship of Rs. 2500/- per month.

The scholarships is limited and may not be available to some candidates joining the course on seats reserved for OBC candidates. However, it may be provided subject to sanctioning of the same by the Government.

Selection procedure for M.D. and D.P.M. course
The selection will depend upon marks obtained in the entrance examination. The entrance test will be of MCQ type consisting of 100 questions to be answered in 60 minutes. There will be 0.25 negative marking for each wrong answer. The test will have questions of MBBS standard in the following approximate distribution:
20% from Psychiatry and allied behavioural sciences
15% from Neurology
30% from General Medicine
35% from rest of Medical subjects

For Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology, M.Phil in Medical and Social Psychology and M.Phil in Psychiatric Social Work courses also the entrance test will be of MCQ type consisting of 100 questions to be answered in 60 minutes. The test will have questions of M.A. /M.Sc. standard. There will be 0.25 negative marking for each wrong answer.

For Diploma in Psychiatric nursing course there shall not be a written entrance examination. However, there will be an interview for the selection of the candidates.

Note:
Candidates applying for both M.D. and D.P.M. and for both Ph.D. (Clinical Psychology) and M.Phil in Medical and Social Psychology courses starting from May 2, 2011 need to submit only one application each. They should clearly mention the names of the course applied for, in order of preference.
For MD (Psychiatry 3 Years Course) and Diploma in Psychological Medicine (DPM):- One year Rotating Internship to be completed by 15.02.2011
For MD (Post DPM, 2 Years Course), Ph.D.(Clinical Psychology, Post M.Phil 2 Years course) :- Certificate of passing DPM, M.Phil (M&SP/Clinical Psychology) on or before 31.5.2011.
For M.Phil (M&SP), M.Phil (PSW):- M.A./M.Sc. in Psychology, Sociology & Social Work and results declared on or before 15.02.2011.
For the D.P.N.:- 2 years working experience certificate as a staff nurse on or before 15.02.2011.

The candidates who do not fulfill above criteria need not apply.
The number of seats in each discipline is subject to change without assigning any reason.

15%, 7 ½% and 27% seats are reserved for Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe and OBC candidates respectively, subject to availability of such candidates. There shall also be reservation of 3% horizontal reservation for physically-handicapped persons { only for locomotory disabilities of lower limbs between 50% to 70% or as per the Govt. of India Rules in this regard} subject to availability of such candidates.

If suitable candidates are not available under the reserved categories, seats will be filled up by General category candidates. There is no reservation in Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology course.

Attested/Xeroxed copies of all certificates, mark sheets, testimonials, Caste Certificate/Disability certificate if applicable etc., should be attached with the application.

Details of research experience, if any, in the form of research publications in peerreviewed journals or research papers presented in scientific conferences may be attached on separate sheet(s) of paper. Reprints of research papers may also be attached.

The application form is to be submitted electronically by internet to CIP website: www.cipranchi.nic.in. and a hard copy of the same application form printed on A4 size bond paper complete in all respect along with a Demand Draft of Rs.400/- for General candidate and Rs.300/- for SC/ST/OBC candidates(non-refundable) in favour of Director, CIP, Ranchi payable at Ranchi should reach the Director, Central Institute of Psychiatry, Kanke, Ranchi-834006 (Jharkhand) by December 9, 2010. The hard copy of the application form must be duly signed by the candidate and his/her photograph pasted in appropriate place. Incomplete applications not accompanied with Demand Draft, attested photocopies of all certificates, mark sheets, testimonials, Caste Certificate/Disability certificate if applicable or applications received after due date , i.e., December 9, 2010, shall not be considered. The admit card and a covering letter having necessary instructions will be made available on the CIP website (www.cipranchi.nic.in).

The admit card and the covering letter are to be downloaded and printed by the candidates and the same to be brought with them to the examination centre. Examinee will not be allowed to enter the examination hall with any electronic communication gadgets, viz., Mobile Phones, pager etc. Examinees, who come to the examination centre, with any such gadget, he/she has to make his/her own arrangements for keeping these outside the examination centre and if found, he/she may be expelled from the examination. This should be strictly complied with.

From the pool of applicants suitable candidates would be asked to appear for a written examination and interview/counseling at this institute, which shall be between February 20–26, 2011. The last date for joining the courses is 31st March, 2011. The candidates are strongly advised to visit the C.I.P. website from time to time for relevant information and instructions. Admission to Post Graduate Programme in Global Business Operations

Admission Batch 2011-2013

Shri Ram College of Commerce offers admission to two-year full-time post-graduate programme in Global Business Operations of the University of Delhi for the academic batch of 2011-2013.

The brief details of the course and admission procedure is as follows:

1. Course : Post-graduate programme in Global Business Operations.
2. Duration : Two-year (full-time)
3. Medium of Instruction : English
4. Number of Seats : 62
5. Reservation available : SC 15% (9), ST 7.5% (5), OBC 27% (17), Physically Challenged 3% (2 supernumerary )
6. Minimum Eligibility for Admission : Bachelor’s Degree with 50% marks from a recognised University. Final year students may also apply. 5% relaxation in marks is available to candidates belonging to SC/ST/PwD category.
7. Course Fee : About Rs. 49,300/- (apppox) per year.

8. Admission Procedure : On the basis of following :-

(b) Group Discussion and Personal Interview (GDPI)
Each candidate would be required to appear for a written entrance test. Limited number of candidates would be invited for the GDPI in order of merit under each category. Final admission list would be drawn category-wise on merit basis taking aggregate marks secured in entrance test and GDPI.
A separate waiting list would also be drawn on merit basis to fill the vacancies, in case exists in future.
9. Entrance Test Date : Sunday, 23rd January, 2011.
Timings : 10.00 a.m. to 12.00 noon.
10. Entrance test venues : Ahmedabad, Amritsar, Bangalore, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Chandigarh, Dehradun, Delhi, Guwahati, Jaipur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Patna, Mumbai, Nagpur, Hyderabad, & Trivendrum.
(The college can withdraw a test centre in case sufficient number of candidates do not opt any particular test centre. Such test centre would be shifted to nearest test centre.)

In Person : Prospectus containing Application Form can be purchased from the office of Section Officer (Admn.), Shri Ram College of Commerce, Maurice Nagar, Delhi – 110 007 between 9.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m. & 2.00 p.m. to 4.00 p.m. (Monday to Friday) on cash payment of Rs.1,000/- (Rs. 800/- for OBC/SC/ST/PwD candidates).

The amount of Rs.1,000/- and Rs.800/- includes examination fee and other incidental charges for selection process.

By Post : If required by Post in India, send a Bank Draft of Rs.1,050/- (Rs. 850/- for OBC/SC/ST/ PwD candidates). This includes Rs.50/- for dispatch charges of Prospectus.

The Draft should be drawn in favour of Principal, Shri Ram College of Commerce, payable at Delhi and should be send to The Principal, Shri Ram College of Commerce, Maurice Nagar, Delhi – 110 007.

14. How to fill application form, attach required documents and submit duly completed application form.
(A) How to fill Application Form and attach other documents:
(a). The Application Form, Admit Cards and other required enclosures are placed in the prospectus. Fill information in the form and other enclosures neatly & carefully. Avoid cuttings.
(b). Paste your latest colour passport size photograph at appropriate places – one in the Application Form and remaining two in the Admit Cards.
(c). Arrange & staple forms and other enclosures in the following sequence:
1. Application Form
2. A note about yourself
3. Photocopy of category certificate
(those who are applying any under any reserved category)
4. Address sticker slip
5. Envelope
6. Admission Tickets (Both the cards – 2A & 2B)
7. Acknowledgement Card

(B) How to submit Application Form :
In person : Do not attach Acknowledgement Card with the Application Form.

Submit Acknowledgement Card separately together with application form & other documents and obtain Receipt/Roll No. from the counter.

The application form can be deposited with the College between 9.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m. & 2.00 p.m. to 4.00 p.m. on all working days (Monday to Friday).

By post or courier : Insert application form and other required documents in 9 x 6 inch printed envelop provided with the prospectus.

Send application form and other enclosures preferably by registered post or through any reliable courier as per your choice. The college will not be responsible for non delivery of application by post or courier.

(C) Downloaded Application Form
The downloaded Application From must be accompanied with a draft of Rs.1,000/- (Rs.800/- in case of OBC, SC, ST & PwD candidates) towards examination fee and other incidental fee for selection process.
The Draft should be drawn in favour of Principal, Shri Ram College of Commerce, payable at Delhi.

The following must be attached with the downloaded application form(arranged & stapled in following sequence):
1. Duly filled in Application Form along with passport size photograph at appropriate place.
2. A write-up/note about yourself in your handwriting in about 200 words.

The National Institute of Rural Development (NIRD) is a premier national center of excellence in rural development. Supported by the Ministry of Rural Development, Govt of India, it builds capacities of the rural development functionaries, elected representatives, academicians and young students through inter-related activities of teaching, training, research, action research and consultancy. The NIRD faculty comprises experienced academicians and development practitioners. The Institute has functional networks with national and international organisations. The NIRD announces its fourth fully residential One-year ‘Post Graduate Diploma in Rural Development Management (PGDRDM)’ with an aim to create a committed and competent cadre of Rural Development professionals in the country. While laying the theoretical foundations of rural development, the programme seeks to impart management techniques that will enhance the understanding of the paradigm and practice of rural development.

Eligibility:
Graduation in any discipline from a recognised University. Students who are in the final year and expect to complete all the requirements of graduation before 1st August, 2011 may also apply. Some seats are reserved for the Indian in-service candidates and international in-service candidates sponsored by regional development organizations such as AARDO and CIRDAP. Indian in-service candidates should possess at least two years of work experience in rural development and allied sectors, and are required to apply through their employers. The international candidates should apply through the Secretariats of the respective regional organisations viz, AARDO, CIRDAP. Organisational Sponsorship for all the in-service candidates is essential. In-service Indian candidates are required to appear for the Entrance Test along with the general students. However, a separate merit list will be prepared for them for admissions. The eligibility parameters for international students are placed on the NIRD’s website.

SELECTION PROCEDURE:
Selection of candidates will be made through a process of All-India Entrance Test which will test the verbal, quantitative and analytical competencies of the students including written English Language Skills. Group Discussion and Personal Interviews will be conducted for the short-listed students.

NO OF SEATS: 60 (may undergo some changes depending upon the availability of infrastructure. Of these, up to 15 seats may be allotted to the in-service Indian and international candidates).

DURATION: (One year) August, 2011 to July, 2012

FEE: Indian Students Rs 1.60 lakh; International Students: US $ 6500

Board and Lodging: The annual board and lodging expenses will be approximately Rs 1, 00,000 for Indian students and US $ 4500 for international students. Accommodation will be given to the students in the NIRD hostels/campus.

Caution Deposit: A refundable Caution Deposit of Rs 10,000 for Indian students and US $ 200 for International students (Mess Deposit, Library Deposit and Hostel Deposit) is a requirement.

Registration Fee: Upon selection, a non-refundable Seat Registration Fee of Rs 16,000 should be paid by the Indian students. This amount will be adjusted against the first trimester fee.

SCHOLARSHIPS: Merit and need based scholarships will be made available to deserving Indian students. The North Eastern Council, Shillong, has fully funded the North Eastern students selected for the PGDRDM in the past. Similar financial support to the admitted students domiciled in the North Eastern region is likely for the current year as well. Study loans will also be facilitated by the NIRD for the needy Indian students.

RESERVATION: Reservations for the students of the SC/ST/OBC (Non-creamy layer) and Persons with Disability (PWD) will be made as per Government of India’s policies.

PLACEMENTS: NIRD will endeavour to make placements on successful completion of the PGDRDM, but does not guarantee. However, all the students of the previous batches of the PGDRDM were placed with State and Central government agencies, public sector banks and non-governmental organizations. The same trend is expected this year as well.

Eligibility
1. Date of birth
For GE and OBC categories, only those candidates whose date of birth falls on or after October 1, 1986 are eligible to appear in JEE-2011. SC, ST, and PD candidates who are born on or after October 1, 1981 are eligible to appear in JEE-2011.

The date of birth as recorded in the high school/first Board/Pre-University certificate will be accepted. If the certificate does not mention the date of birth, a candidate must submit, an authenticated document indicating the date of birth.

2. Year of passing Qualifying Examination (QE)

A candidate must have passed the QE for the first time, on or after October 1, 2009 or will be appearing in 2011.

Those who are going to appear in the QE later than October 1, 2011 are not eligible to apply for JEE-2011.

The qualifying examinations (QEs) are listed below:
The final examination of the 10+2 system, conducted by any recognized central / state Board, such as Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi; Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations, New Delhi; etc.

Intermediate or two-year Pre-University examination conducted by a recognized Board / University.

Final examination of the two-year course of the Joint Services Wing of the National Defence Academy.

General Certificate Education (GCE) examination (London / Cambridge / Sri Lanka) at the Advanced (A) level.

High School Certificate Examination of the Cambridge University or International Baccalaureate Diploma of the International Baccalaureate Office, Geneva.

Any Public School/Board/University examination in India or in any foreign country recognized as equivalent to the 10+2 system by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).

H.S.C. vocational examination.

Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Institute of Open Schooling with a minimum of five subjects.
3 year Diploma recognized by AICTE or a state Board of technical education.

In case the relevant qualifying examination is not a public examination, the candidate must have passed at least one public (Board or Pre-University) examination at an earlier level.

3. Minimum percentage of marks in QE

Candidates belonging to GE and OBC categories must secure at least 60% marks in aggregate in their QE. SC, ST and PD candidates must secure at least 55% marks in aggregate in their QE.

The percentage of marks awarded by the Board will be treated as final. If the Board does not award the percentage of marks, it will be calculated based on the marks obtained in all subjects listed in the mark sheet. If any Board awards only letter grades without providing an equivalent percentage of marks on the grade sheet, the candidate should obtain a certificate from the Board specifying the equivalent marks, and submit it at the time of counselling / admission. In case such a certificate is not provided then the final decision rests with the Joint Implementation Committee of JEE-2011.

The envelope containing the completed OMR application form and enclosures should be sent to the zonal IIT (both examination cities chosen by you belong to this zone).

The envelope must be sent by Registered Post/Speed Post ONLY. Do not send it through ordinary post or private courier services. Please keep the postal receipt for future reference.

A candidate can buy an application form with Information Brochure from any one of the designated branches of banks by paying Rs. 500/- for SC /ST / PD / Female candidates (light YELLOW Envelope) or Rs. 1000/- for all other candidates (WHITE envelope). Applications have been invited for Commercial Diving Course being conducted at Diving School, Kochi by Indian Navy commencing on 31 January 2011.

Eligibility conditions: Male Indian citizens between 18 and 28 years of age.

Educational Qualifications:
(a) Candidates passing 12th class examination of Central/State Education Board and securing 50% or more marks in matriculation are eligible.
(b) Candidates must be fluent either in Hindi or in English.

Medical Standards:
The applicants are required to attach a medical certificate from a registered medical practitioner certifying that the applicant is medically fit to under take strenuous physical activities and is not suffering from the under-mentioned disorders:
(a) Inability of clear the ears via enustachian tubes.
(b) Perforated ear drum, chronic otitis media.
(c) Chronic sinusitis, nasal obstruction.
(d) Obesity-should not be obese.
(e) Dental caries, loss of incisor, artifical dentures.
(f) Any chronic lung disease, past or present and history of thoracic surgery, diabetes.
(g) Any functional or organic cardiovascular disease, essential hypertension, diabetes.
(h) Proven peptic ulcer, chronic diarrhoea, history of extensive abdominal surgery, evidence of hernia or tendency thereto, varicose venis or haemorrhoids unless already successfully treated.
(i) Chronic or recurrent disease of genitor urinary system.
(j) Post history of fits, psychiatric illness, repeated headaches, blackouts, severe concussion or cranial surgery.
(k) Addiction to alcohol and drugs.
(l) Stammering
(m) Skeletal or arthritic disability.
(n) Chronic skin conditions.
(p) STD and AIDS.

Mode of Selection:
(a) Vetting of applications: The applications received from the candidates are vetted at Headquarters, Southern Naval Command, Kochi and the call up letters are sent to shortlisted candidates who are required to report to Diving School, Kochi for aptitude test, screening and training. The preference of selection of candidates in order of priority is as follows. Percentage of marks obtained in 12th class examination of Central/ State Board. Age factor (younger candidates are given preference) and due weightage is given for the same.

Aptitude Test and Screening:

Candidates are required to qualify an aptitude test diving and physical fitness. This test is to assess the candidate's suitability for diving. Candidates who qualify the aptitude test undergo screening in diving skills and physical fitness. On completion of the screening, twenty candidates are selected to undergo the course.

Cost of Training: The cost of training is borne by the individual candidates as follows:
(a) ADM & Screening -            Rs.  9,600/-
(b) Training Charges -              Rs. 2,85,730/-
(c)  Medical Charges -             Rs. 2,000/-
(d)I MCA Certification Charge - Rs.     10,000/-

Selection ProcedureSelection will be based on a written test followed by an interview.

1. Candidates will be short-listed based on Academic records and other relevant criteria like research experience, National Eligibility Tests, etc.

2. All short-listed candidates will be required to appear for a written test in their relevant areas (Aerospace Engineering / Mechanical Engineering / Electrical Engineering / Computer Science / Control System / Physics / Chemistry / Polymer Technology/ Mathematics / Atmospheric Sciences / Remote Sensing).

3. Written test of two hours duration will be conducted at IIST, Trivandrum during 3rd / 4th week of December 2010.

4. The written test will aim to evaluate the basic understanding of the relevant subject area. The test may contain both descriptive and objective questions.

5. Candidates qualified in the written test will be required to appear for an interview the following day.

6. List of candidates eligible for written test and the dates of written test / interview will be displayed in IIST website by 25th November 2010.

7. Selected candidates will be intimated within a week of the final interview. Results will also be displayed in our website.
