A Practical Test will be conducted by the University for admission to seats reserved for Children of Agriculturists.

Reservation of Seats:
Excluding the All India quota under ICAR, New Delhi, reservation of seats for various categories will be made in accordance with the existing reservation policy of Government of Karnataka. The Kerala Christian Professional College Managements’ Federation has invited applications for admission to the MBBS/BDS courses at the member institutions for 2011-12.

Applications have been invited for the MBBS courses at

(i) Amala Institute of Medical Sciences, Amala Nagar, Thrisuur

(ii) Jubilee Mission Medical College and Research Institute, Thrisuur

(iii) Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church Medical College, Kolencherry, Ernakulam and

Each Medical College has an intake of 100 while the lone Dental College has an intake of 50.

For MBBS, the total seats available for admission other than those for the children / dependents of NRIs, as per this notification is 340 of which, 130 are under Open merit which is inclusive of 20 seats reserved for SC/ST. The remaining 210 seats are reserved for various Categories under Community merit which includes 131 seats open to all Christians, 20 to Syro Malabar Catholics, 12 to Latin Catholics, 12 to Arch Diocese of Thrissur, 10 to Malankara Orthodox (1 seat for Dalit Orthodox), 8 for Syro Malabar, 7 for Dalit Christians, 7 for Priests / Nuns, 3 for Alumni of CMI +2 School (Devamatha Province).

For BDS, there are 16 Open merit seats inclusive of 3 seats reserved for SC/ST. The remaining 26 seats are reserved for various Categories under Community merit which includes 12 seats open to all Christians, 10 to Malankara Catholics, 1 for Priests/Nuns, 1 for Dalit Christians, 2 for Latin Catholics.

Applicants should be Indian Citizens and should have passed the Higher Secondary Examination of the Board of Higher Secondary Education of Kerala or an examination recognized equivalent thereto with at least 50% marks in Biology separately and 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/equivalent subjects put together. SC / ST / OBC applicants will be eligible for relaxations in minimum marks as per MCI / DCI norms.

Applicant should be in the Medical Rank list prepared by the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, Kerala on the basis of CET 2011 and should have scored at least 50% marks for he CET (40% for SC/ST/OBC).

Admissions will be based on Inter-se Merit determined by adding marks obtained in the entrance examination conducted by the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations and marks obtained for Physics, Chemistry and Biology / equivalent subjects in the qualifying examination apportioned in the ratio 50:50. The marks obtained in the qualifying examination will be subjected to Normalization. The process will be done taking into consideration only the marks of those candidates who apply for the courses based on this notification. Details of the process of Normalization are available under Clause 4.1 of the Prospectus.

Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR) has invited proposals for financial support through Fellowships General (Post Doctoral), Senior (Senior Social Scientist) & doctoral fellowships for the year 2011-12.

A. General & Senior Fellowships:
The research proposals may belong to any one of the social science disciplines or may be interdisciplinary in nature. The recognized disciplines are : (i) Economics / Commerce /Management / Business Administration
(ii) Sociology and Social Anthropology / Social Work/Demography / Gender Studies / Criminology;
(iii) Political Science / International Relations / Geography / Public Administration;
(iv) Psychology / Education; (v) Linguistics / Law & Other.

ELIGIBILITY:
For Senior & General fellowships a scholar must have Ph.D. Degree and good number of publication and the CV must indicate capability of independent research;
Age: For General Fellowship-50 years, and for Senior Fellowship-there is no age bar

VALUE AND DURATION:
The value of the Senior Fellowship is Rs.20,000/- p.m. and Rs.50,000/- as contingency grant per annum. In case of employed scholar, salary will be protected.
The value of the General Fellowship is Rs.18,000/- p.m. and Rs.30,000/- as contingency grant per annum. In case of employed scholar, salary will be protected. Maximum duration of a Senior and General Fellowships is two years.

B. Doctoral fellowships: Open category & North East Category
The broad disciplines recognized for such support are; Economics, Commerce, Management, Business Administration, Education, Psychology, Political Science, International Relations, Public Administration, Sociology, Social Work, Criminology and Social Science aspects of Anthropology, Demography, Geography, Law and Linguistics. The priority areas for consideration are: (Health, Education, Environment and Sustainable Development, Information/Communication Technology, Gender Studies, Centre-State Relations and National Security).

Eligibility for Centrally Administered Doctoral Fellowships:
a. Postgraduate in Social Sciences with at least 55% marks.
b. The candidate should have cleared National Eligibility Test (NET for JRF/Lecturership)/M.Phil/ or two research articles published in reputed social sciences journals (reprints to be attached).
c. The applicant must be registered for Ph.D.

Age:
The upper age limit for a doctoral fellow is below 35 years as on 1st July 2011 (relaxable by 5 years in case of SC/ST). For teachers and professional staff of research institutes holding regular posts the upper age limit would be 45 years. In exceptional cases, where a candidate is found to have outstanding ability, the age limit may be relaxed marginally at the discretion of ICSSR.

Value:
The selected candidates will be paid a fellowship amount of Rs.12,000/ per month for two years extendable by one year in exceptional cases only, plus Rs.10,000/ per annum as contingency grant.

Submission of Application Form:
There will be two stages for the submission of application, both of which are mandatory. Candidates shall complete / fulfill both the stages as per the time schedule, which will be notified through the website/media.

Stage I
Online Registration of personal data and submission of Application form (Printout) of the candidates.

Stage II
Forwarding of downloaded Academic facing Sheet duly signed in along with attested copies of mark list(s).

The candidate must visit the website www.lbscentre.org or www.lbskerala.com and perform online registration using his / her Application Number, Security Key and soft copy of the recently taken Passport Size photo in JPEG format with size not more than 20 KB. The candidate must click the link “Admission to Professional Degree Courses 2011 in Nursing, Pharmacy and Paramedical streams”.

He / She will have to initially login to the web site using the ‘Application Number’ and ‘Security Key’. The candidate will have to create and submit a ‘Password’ which must be made up of numerals or alphabets or a combination of both. On successful submission of the password, the candidate will be taken to a Home page. Then he / she has to upload softcopy of his / her Photograph and then enter and ‘SAVE’ the personal data. A ‘Registration ID’ will be generated by the computer on completing the online registration. On completion of online registration, the candidate has to take a printout which is the Application form.

This Application form, along with attested copies of certificates to prove all personal claims and copy of Hall ticket of Higher Secondary / equivalent examination (for appeared candidates) /mark list(s) of Higher Secondary/equivalent examination (if passed), shall be sent to The Director, LBS Centre for Science & Technology, Extra Police Road, Nandavanam, Palayam, Thiruvananthapuram – 695033, Kerala

Selection Process
1. Written Joint Entrance Test

Applicants shall be called for an objective type multiple choice as well as subjective type test which shall be held in Delhi.

The written examination is designed to test the aptitude of the candidates to pursue the B.A. (Hons.) Journalism course. There is no prescribed syllabus or format for the entrance examination. The following areas have been usually included in the entrance examination in the past.

The test shall be of 2:30 hours duration, extra time will be given to the candidates for filling up details on test booklet and answer sheet, marking attendance, verification of candidates’ documents, distribution, and collection of test material etc.

The candidate should report at their respective examination centres latest by 9 am on the day of the test. The examination will start at 9:30 am and the booklet will be collected at 12:00 noon.

The test booklet will have both the subjective and objective questions. There will be space specified in the booklet itself to answer the subjective questions. Since the candidates will have to answer the objective questions on the OMR sheet they should bring pencils and erasers with themselves and follow the instructions accordingly. The scheme of examination may be changed on the recommendation of the admission committee.

2. Interview

Candidates shall be called for the interview based on the performance in the written test and Class XII marks.

3. Final selection

Final Selection will be made for all categories on the following basis:

Written Exam: 50%
XII Result: 35%
Interview: 15%

4. Counseling and Admission of candidates

The candidates shall be allotted the respective colleges as per their merit and the choice of preference given at the time of counseling.

The price of the form for SC/ ST/ PD applicants will be Rs. 100.

Application forms can also be downloaded from the website of the University (www.aud.ac.in ). There is no provision for online submission of applications.

Completed application forms that have been downloaded from the website will have to be submitted along with Rs. 200. For SC/ ST/ PD candidates the amount will be Rs. 100.

However, outstanding candidates with Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering with an excellent academic record and aptitude for research may be considered for direct admission to the Ph.D. Programme. Candidates with Master’s Degree in basic science subjects and Humanities must be NET qualified (JRF) to be considered for the Ph.D. programme.

Age Limit: Applicant should be below 28 years as on 6th June 2011. Age relaxation is applicable as per Government Rules.

Eligibility
For B.Sc. in Nursing:
Pre university examination conducted by the department of Pre University OR
Higher Secondary School Certificate Examination (12 years course) OR
Senior School Certificate Examination, Pre degree Examination (10+2) OR
An equivalent with 12 years of schooling from a recognized Board or University

For B.Sc. in Radiology:
Pre university examination conducted by the department of Pre University OR
An equivalent Examination recognized by NIMHANS, Bangalore OR
Job oriented Diploma Courses from recognized Board with Diagnostic Radiography as vocational subject or equivalent.

For B.Sc. in Anaesthesia Technology:

For PC B.Sc. in Nursing:
The candidates seeking admission to this course must

Hold a diploma in General Nursing & Midwifery (GNM)
Be a registered nurse
Having a minimum of 2 years experience in hospital or community health nursing
Have passed PUC examination in Arts / Science / Commerce
Have working knowledge in English
Shall be medically fit
Have good personal & professional record.

Age Limit: The age of candidates for all the B.Sc. courses should be between minimum of 17 and maximum of 25 years as on 01.08.2011.

For PC B.Sc. candidates who is over 48 year of age as on 31st December 2011 shall not be eligible.
