Second class Honours at +3 degree (Science or Social Science) or 50% aggregate marks for Pass subjects at +3 Degree level.
8) Public Administration:
Second class Honours in any subject.
9) Sociology:
Second class Honours in Sociology or 50% of marks in aggregate for candidates having Honours in Anthropology, Political Science, Economics or Psychology.
10) Philosophy:
Second class Honours in Philosophy or at least Second class Honours in other subjects with 50% marks in Philosophy as a pass subject at +3 Degree level. Pass candidates with 50% marks in aggregate having Philosophy as a core subject shall also be eligible for the said course,
11) Statistics:
Second class Honours in Statistics/ Mathematics or Second class Honours in any other subject with Statistics / Mathematics as a core subject. Pass candidates with 50% of marks in aggregate having Statistics / Mathematics as a core subject shall also be eligible.

B. Sponsored Courses:
1) PG Diploma in Remote Sensing and GIS. (Department of Geography):
Graduate preferably from Geography, Engineering, Business Management, Agriculture, Forestry, Life Sciences and other science graduates with at least 45% marks at graduate level are eligible. Arts graduates with science background at intermediate (+2) level are also eligible with 45% marks at graduation level.
2) Master of Rural Development (Department of Sociology) :
+3 Degree in Arts / Science / Commerce.
3) 3 year MBA Executive Programme (Department of Business Administration):
2 years of working experience at Supervisory level after graduation in reputed organizations. (Experience and no objection certificate to continue the course from the Employer must be attached to the form).
4) Master Degree of Human Consciousness & Yogic Science (Department of Sanskrit):
Any graduate from a recognized University with PG Diploma in Yoga (minimum one year course).
5) MA in Women Studies:
Graduation in any discipline
6) MSc Environmental Science (Department of Botany):
Any Graduate from Science / Engineering streams.
7) MSc Applied Microbiology (Department of Botany):
Any Science Graduate having Botany / Zoology / Microbiology / Biotechnology / Life Science / Agriculture / Forestry / Fishery / Horticulture / Environmental Science. Pass and Honours students of the above subjects with 50% marks in aggregate are eligible.
8) Master of Fishery Science (Department of Zoology):
At least 2nd class Honours in Fishery Science / Zoology / Life Science or Chemistry with Zoology / Fishery Science as pass subject or Botany with Zoology / Fishery Science as pass subject or BFSc or a pass student with minimum 50% aggregate having Fishery Science / Zoology / Life Science as core subject.
9) Master in Engineering Course in Computer Science and Engineering with specialization with Knowledge Engineering (Department of Computer Science):
BE / BTech in Computer Science / IT / Electrical / Electronics / MSc Computer Science, MCA with Physics and Mathematics / Statistics at BSc level. At least 60% marks or equivalent in the qualifying degree examination.
10) MTech in Information Technology (Department of Statistics):
Master's Degree in Computer Science / Information Technology / Computer Application / Statistics / Mathematics / Physics / Electronics / OR Bachelor's Degree in Engineering / Technology OR any other qualification considered equivalent (such as AMIE or DOEACC 'B' Level).

+2 Science with minimum 60% marks.

The application forms should accompany with an account payee Bank Draft for Rs.150/- (Rupees one hundred and fifty only) drawn in favour of the "Comptroller of Finance, Utkal University" payable at any Nationalized Bank located at Bhubaneswar and the entrance fee as noted below in favour of respective HOD/Course Coordinator in separate drafts.
ii. Forms can also be purchased at the counter of State Bank of India and Syndicate Bank, Utkal University Campus Branch, Vani Vihar on payment of Rs.150/- (Rupees one hundred and fifty) only in cash.

Eligibility for Admission
Academic Eligibility:
a. Candidates who have passed the Higher Secondary Examination of the Board of Higher Secondary Education, Kerala or examination recognized equivalent there to, with 50% marks in Biology separately, and 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology put together, are eligible for admission.
b. Candidates who have passed the BSc Degree (3 year course) examination with Physics, Chemistry, Zoology, Botany, or Biochemistry as Main, and
any one of the two of the above subjects as subsidiaries, with 50% marks for Main and Subsidiaries taken together, subject to the condition that they have passed Higher Secondary Examination, Kerala or examinations recognized as equivalent there to with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as optional subjects are eligible for admission to BSc Nursing.

Relaxation of marks :-
Candidates belonging to Socially and Educationally Backward Classes (as per G.O (P) No. 208/66/Edn dated 02/05/1966, G.O (MS) No. 95/08/SCSTDD dated 06/10/2008 and amendments thereof, with total annual family income not exceeding Rs.4.5 lakhs, will have a relaxation of 5% marks in the qualifying examination. They need only 45% marks in the case of Biology and 45 % marks in the case of Physics, Chemistry and Biology put together. The Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes candidates need only a pass in the qualifying examination. The relaxation of marks in the qualifying examination extended to SEBC candidates only will be applicable to OEC candidates.

Age
Applicants should have completed 17 years of age as on the 31st December 2011. No relaxation in the minimum age will be allowed. There is no upper age limit.

How to apply:
Merit seats are filled up by LBS list .There will be separate application forms for (i) Management seats (35%), (ii) NRI quota seats (5%) and (iii) Foreign students quota(10%). The candidates applying for Management quota /NRI quota/ Foreign students quota should apply to SI-MET, in the prescribed application form issued by the SI-MET. Separate application fee should be remitted for the application forms, for Management quota seats and for NRI seats.

AWARDS AND DETAILS:

1. Khosla National Award
Khosla National Award of Rs. 51,000/- is given annually to an eminent Engineer/Scientist/Technologist from various disciplines for lifetime achievements irrespective of their association with NT Roorkee. The award will also include a citation and a gold medal. The award will be open to Indian Nationals only, for original research work and/or application to real life problems for the work done in India.


2. A.S. Arya HTR Disaster Prevention Award
The award is made for outstanding contribution in the area of Disaster Prevention / Mitigation. The term disaster shall include ail types of Natural Disasters, Earthquakes, Cyclones, Floods, Land Slides, Forest Fires and Snow Avalanche. The Annual Award consists of a citation and a cash prize of Rs. 50,000/-.
• The award is open to citizens of India, Nepal, Bhutan and Bangladesh and will be given on the work done in one or more of these countries.
• He/She shall have distinguished himself/herself through outstanding work and internationally recognized action, going beyond the scope of his/her
normal functions in one or more of the following
The implementation at national or regional level, of activities designed to strengthen people's awareness of natural disasters.
The launching of scientific activities contributing to technological innovation facilitating disaster prediction.
The launching of scientific activities contributing to the strengthening disaster prevention and preparedness.
The promotion of activities which reduce the economic impact of disasters and which contribute to sustainable developments.
Other activities integrating disaster prevention and preparedness into development planning.
• The award may be given to an individual or a group of individuals for outstanding joint effort in the above areas.


3. Shamsher Prakash Research Award
The Annual Award is made for outstanding work in the field of Geotechnical and/or Geotechnical Earthquake Engineering. It consists of a citation and a cash prize of Rs. 50,000/ and is open to a renowned young Indian Engineer, Scientist or Researcher who has not completed 45 years of age on Jan 01, 2011. The award will be primarily based on the research work done in the past five calendar years


4. V. N. MM. Award
The Annual Award of Rs. 50,000/- and a citation is given to an eminent Engineerfor Innovative and Creative Work in the field of Engineering in India in any discipline to Indian National for this work done in India.


5. Mahesh Varma Construction Research Award
One biennial Award of Rs. 15,000/- is made for outstanding contribution by a young Engineer. Technologist or Scientist of Indian nationality through original research for innovations in the field of Construction Technology and Construction Management categorised by Theoretical Work or Applied Research done in India during the five years preceding the year of Award.


6. Gopal Ranjan Research Award
Gopal Ranjan Research Award of Rs. 55,000/- will be given to a deserving person on the basis of his/her 'Creative and Innovative Work' in the fields of Soil Characteristics/Foundation Engineering/ Ground Improvement / Soil Structure Interaction/Engineering Geology/Underground Structures/Rock Mechanics in India. The award shall be available to Indian National or alumni of IIT Roorkee (or its predecessor University of Roorkee) of any nationality


7. S.R. Mehra Memorial Award
Prof S.R. Mehra Memorial Award of the value of Rs. 20,000/- for research in Transportation Engg/ Soil Mechanics. This award is made once in every two years for outstanding contributions made by an Indian engineer, Technologist or scientist through original research in the field of transportation Engg./Soil Mechanics categorized by Theoretical work or applied research done in Indian during the five years preceding the year of award

ABOUT CBIP :
Central Board of Irrigation and Power was set up by the Government of India for monitoring of Irrigation & Power of our country in the pre-independence era. ABOUT THE COURSE :
A modular course of 26 weeks covering complete syllabus underthe provision of Indian Electricity Rules.

Why You Should Join ? :
The main aim of the course is to develop a pool of technically trained manpower readily available for recruitment to the Transmission and Distribution areas of Indian Power Sector. The course is also open for the sponsored candidates from SEBs/Power utilities.

Eligibility :
B.E. or equivalent in Elect. Engg. from a recognized Institution/University with minimum of 60% marks with I Class/ I Grade

Selection Criteria for Admission :
Based on the Merit of marks of 10th, 12th & Engineering degree

Age Limit : Non-sponsored candidates, 27 years as on 25.07.2011. No age limit for the sponsored candidates.

Fees : Rs. 90000.00 excluding the Lodging & Boarding charges.

Total Seats :
30(Thirty seats)(Provisional). 25% seats reserved for the candidates sponsored from Power utilities having more than one year experience and more than 60% marks in Graduation,

Placement CBIP maintains close linkages with all Power Utilities and reputed companies of Indian power Sector which will help for the placement of the students. However CBIP has no commitment for the same. Sponsored candidates will not be considered for any campus placement.
