INTRODUCTION
Every wireless application requires an antenna that resonates at its desired frequency band. With a multitude of applications available; we can expect a large number of antennas for each specific application. In order to reduce down the number of antennas, our job is to design a single wide - multiband antenna which can cover multiple applications. As the size of antenna is a limiting factor, it is preferable to design a wideband microstrip antenna because of its small size, light-weight, low fabrication cost and can be easily integrated with microwave integrated circuits.

The goal of this STC is to develop a comprehensive understanding of the microstrip antennas, their designing, understanding new trends, techniques and other emerging wireless technologies in 4G. The participants will develop an understanding of the tools used in MSA design like CST Microwave Studio, HFSS, IE3D and antenna ptimization algorithms.

COURSE CONTENTS
1. Basics of Wireless Communication Systems
2. Introduction to Antennas and their related parameters
3. Antenna Design for Microwave and Recent Wireless Technologies
