M.Tech. Admission Notice 2012

Apply online on www.dtekerala.gov.in or www.cet.ac.in till May 31 for admission to all seats in M.Tech. programmes in government and government-aided engineering colleges and half the seats in self-financing colleges in the State.

After submitting the application, pay the application fee of Rs. 500 (Rs. 100 for those belonging to the Scheduled Castes or the Scheduled Tribes) at any specified branch of the State Bank of Travancore. The challan issued by the bank and a printout of the online application, along with copies of the required documents, should reach the Principal, College of Engineering, Sreekaryam, Thiruvananthapuram - 695 016 on or before June 7.

Applicants should be Indian citizens with an engineering degree with minimum 60 per cent aggregate marks. Those belonging to the Scheduled Castes or the Scheduled Tribes require only pass marks. Selection is based on the score in the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE). If a sufficient number of applicants with the score are unavailable, Keralite applicants without it will be considered for admission, using the aggregate marks till the sixth semester of the B.Tech. course. The rank list will be published on the two websites.

The first seat allotment will be made on June 22 and the fee will have to be paid between June 23 and 27. The second allotment will be made on July 4 and the fee will have to be paid from July 5 to 7. The third allotment is on July 13.

In government and government-aided engineering colleges, the admission fee is Rs. 150, special fee, Rs. 2,850, tuition fee, Rs. 4,500 a semester, and caution deposit, Rs. 1,500.
A scholarship of Rs. 8,000 a month will be paid to the students with a GATE score who join the course.
