ENTRANCE EXAMINATION FOR MBBS MANAGEMENT SEATS 2012


Kerala Private Medical College Management Association has invited applications for Entrance Test for admission to the 35% Management seats for MBBS for 2012 in the Member-Colleges of the Association.

Colleges: 
(i) Malabar Medical College, Kozhikode (ii) K.M.C.T Medical College, Kozhikode (iii) MES Medical College, Malappuram (iv) Sree Narayana Institute of Medical Sciences, Ernakulam (v) Azeezia Medical College, Kollam (vi) Travancore Medical College, Kollam (vii) Sree Gokulam Medical College, Thiruvananthapuram (viii) SUT Academy of Medical Sciences, Thiruvananthapuram and (ix) Dr.Somervell Memorial C.S.I. Medical College, Thiruvananthapuram.

Eligibility: Applicant should be a citizen of India and should complete 17 years of age on or before 31st December, 2012. No relaxation in age will be allowed. Applicant must have passed in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English individually and must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology at the qualifying examination as mentioned in Clause(2) Regulation 4 of the  MCI and in addition must have come in the merit list prepared as a result of competitive entrance examination by securing not less than 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together in the competitive entrance  examination conducted by the Association.

Scheduled castes, Scheduled Tribes or Other Backward Classes, need only 40% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology together in qualifying examination and competitive entrance examination. Rounding off of the percentage of marks to the nearest whole number is not permitted. Those who have passed their qualifying examination from authorities other than the State of Kerala should produce the certificate of recognition and equivalency of the qualifying examination from the Kerala University of Health Sciences.

Applicants should possess certificate of good conduct and character issued from the Institution last studied.

Admission Test: Selection to the Programme will be based on the merit in an entrance examination to be held on 31.5.2012 at notified centres. The examination will have two papers, each of 75 minutes duration. Paper I to be held from 9.30 am to 10.45 am, will have 50 questions from Biology while Paper II to be held from 11.30 am to 12.45 pm, will have 50 questions from Chemistry (30 questions) and Physics (20 questions). The examination will be objective type and based on single response. For each question, four answers will be suggested of which only one will be the most appropriate response. The candidate will have to mark the bubble corresponding to the most appropriate answer.

For each correct response, three marks will be awarded. For each incorrect response, one mark will be deducted. More than one answer indicated against a question will be deemed as incorrect response. The standard of the written Examination will be that of Higher Secondary or equivalent examination.

Application: Application can be submitted only Online at the official website of the Association www.kpmcma.net. If a candidate submits more than one application his/her candidature is liable to be cancelled.

Application Fee: Application fee of Rs.200/- can be paid by way of Demand Draft (DD) drawn on a Nationalized/Scheduled Bank, in favour of ‘KPMCMA’ and payable at Calicut.

Submission of filled application: The Print out of the completed Application thus obtained, duly signed and photo affixed along with relevant documents to be submitted with the application as per Clause 3.4 of the Prospectus and DD for Rs.200/- towards application fee, should reach ‘The Controller of Examination, Kerala Private Medical College Management Association, Malabar Medical College Campus, Modakkallur: P.O, Atholi, Calicut-673315’ by Hand Delivery/Registered Post/Speed Post latest by 4 pm on  29.05.2012 (Tuesday),  .

Admit Card: The Admit Cards for entrance examination in respect of applicants who submitted valid application on time can be downloaded from the website www.kpmcma.net from   25th May 2012. The printout of the admit card thus obtained duly filled up signed will have to be produced at the time of examination. Admit Cards will not be sent by post.

The Entrance Examinations and allotments will be based on the various provisions laid down in the Prospectus. The details related to the member colleges are available in the prospectus.

Reservation: Reservation of seats to candidates belonging to specified categories and to the community/ group will be as laid down in the relevant column in Annexure I series related to the college concerned. Those applicants eligible for such seats in an institution in terms of the stipulations in Annexure I series of the college concerned have to enter the same in the relevant column of the application and produce certificate/ proof in support of his/her claim as required therein. Those who fail to produce the required certificate/proof along with the application will not get the benefit.

The annual tuition fee proposed is Rs.6,50,000/- with an interest free refundable deposit of Rs.5,00,000/-
