1. Course
Master of Education (Regular) Comprising of Two Semesters.
2. Duration of the Course:
210 Working days (Two Semester of 105 days each).1 YEAR
3. Number of Seats:
The total number of intake will be 35.
4. Reservation:
Reservation rules specifically applicable for SC/ST/OBC/OEC and Physically Handicapped candidates for admission to various courses of studies in the University Teaching Departments will be applicable for M. Ed. (Regular) course also.
5. Eligibility for Admission:
B. Ed. Degree of the Kannur University or a B. Ed. Degree recognized by Kannur University as equivalent thereto with not less than 55% marks. Relaxation in marks will be given to SEBC/OBC/OEC and SC/ST candidates as per the University Admission Rules for Master’s Degree Course.
6. Application Procedure:
The completed application form shall accompany an Entrance Examination fee of ì. 250/- (ì 100/-for SC/ST applicants) as DD /Chelan obtained from any branch of SBT drawn in favor of the Finance Officer, Kannur University payable at SBT, Kannur University Campus Branch and with attested copies of relevant documents should reach the Director, School of Pedagogical Sciences, Dharmasala, Kannur University Campus P.O.,, PIN – 670 567 on or before the last date notified by the University. Late and incomplete applications will summarily be rejected.
7. Selection:
The selection shall be from the rank list prepared on the basis of the following criteria:
a) Entrance Examination conducted by the University : 50% of Entrance Exam.
(Objective type items only)
b) Qualifying Degree (B. Ed.) - % of Marks Scored in
the B. Ed. Degree by the Candidate : 40%
c) B. Ed. Degree from Kannur University : 5 marks
d) Teaching Service (recognized teaching service in Govt./Private aided Schools). : 1 mark for each
completed year subject subject to a maximum of 5 marks
The M. Ed. Entrance Examination will be of 100 marks for 1 ½ hours duration consists of objective type of questions. The question paper will be based on the syllabus of the General Papers at the B.Ed. Level.
8. Fee:
Selected candidates should remit Rs. 36,000/- (Rupees thirty-six thousand only) towards tuition fee and other fees fixed by University by way of DD drawn in favor of The Finance Officer, Kannur University. (SC/ST candidates are exempted from the payment of tuition fee)
9. Attendance:
80% of attendance is compulsory for each semester failing which the candidate shall not be permitted to appear for the examination.
10. Other details:
The list of selected candidates will be displayed on the Notice Board of the School of Pedagogical Sciences, Dharmasala. The selected candidates are to appear for an interview at the School of Pedagogical Sciences, wherein the original of their certificates and other documents will be verified. Candidates selected are to remit the fees and submit all the original documents at the time of admission. Candidates who have not been selected will not be intimated.The school of Pedagogical Sciences will not be responsible for non-receipt of communication due to postal delay. Candidates are requested to verify the date of interview which will be published through press release and also on the Notice Board of the School of Pedagogical Sciences at Dharmasala. Candidates who report after the prescribed time and date of interview will forfeit all claims for admission.The Director, School of Pedagogical Sciences, reserves all the rights to reject any application or deny admission to any selected candidate if he/she is found to be unsuitable for the course.
