Admission to the M.Sc. Nursing Programme of this college is made according to the rules and regulations of Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot, Punjab, Indian Nursing Council, New Delhi and of the Government as may be applicable to this college. These are subject to alterations, amendments and modifications as may be necessary from time to time by the authority concerned. All admissions are subject to the approval of the Baba Farid University of Health Sciences.
COURSE OF STUDY and ALLOCATION OF SEATS
The following courses for the degree of Master of Science in Nursing are offered at the college of Nursing of the Christian Medical College Ludhiana Society, a Christian Minority institution. The Post graduate seats for M.Sc. Nursing are distributed as per the following categories; Category 1 - Open Category and Category 2-Society Sponsored. Further, Subject wise distribution is as follows.
1. Mental Health ( Psychiatric) Nursing (Category 1: 2 Category 2: 2)
2. Medical Surgical Nursing (Category 1: 3 Category 2: 2)
3. Community Health Nursing (Category 1: 3 Category 2: 2)
4. Obstetric and Gynaecological Nursing (Category 1: 2 Category 2: 3)
5. Child Health ( Paediatric ) Nursing (Category 1: 2 Category 2: 3)
Each course runs for two years. The course commences as per the Calendar of Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot.
NUMBER OF SEATS
There are 24 seats for men and women. Foreign Nationals may apply but application must be through Govt. of India as per rules.
Any seat falling vacant in category 2 will be filled from the category 1 and vice versa.
All admissions are made on merit secured in the Admission Test ,Viva Voce and additional marks if any.
*SPONSORED CANDIDATES :
All applicants eligible as per due service and desirous of sponsorship may apply to one of the sponsoring agencies of the Christian Medical College Ludhiana Society. The list of members is given in the annexure. Such Candidates will be sponsored after minimum of 2 years of service in CMC or related Mission Hospitals of the society. A Sponsored Christian Candidate is required to submit photocopies of the following certificates along with the application to be considered in this category:
i) Baptism Certificate
ii) Confirmation Certificate (if applicable)
iii) Letter from the Pastor regarding Church Membership, with date and denomination of the Church with address.(in the prescribed format-Annexure-I)
iv) Sponsorship Letter from church/body
REQUIREMENTS
Age: No applicant older than 55 years (born before 31.12.1957) may apply for the M.Sc. Nursing Programme.
ACADEMIC
In order to be eligible to apply for admission to the M.Sc.Nursing course of this college, an applicant must have passed one of the following examinations obtaining at least 55% marks in the aggregate.
a) Post-Basic B.Sc. Nursing examination of Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot / Panjab University, Chandigarh.
OR
b) B.Sc. Nursing examination of Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot /Panjab University, Chandigarh.
OR
c) Any other B.Sc. Nursing examination recognised by the Syndicate of Baba Farid University of Health Sciences as equivalent to (a) or (b) above. An applicant shall apply to the Registrar, Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Kotkapura Road, Faridkot-151 203, Punjab for an eligibility certificate, if applicable.
d) Post Basic B.Sc.(IGNOU) only from Centers recognized by the Indian Nursing Council
HEALTH :
If selected and found medically unfit by Staff & Student Health Services, Christian Medical College, Ludhiana, the candidate will not be allowed to continue.
REGISTRATION :
Must be a Registered Nurse & Registered Midwife recognized by Nursing Council of India. Candidate who is not Registered Midwife must have short course certificate recognized by INC.
EXPERIENCE :
Minimum one year work experience in Bed side Nursing / Public Health nursing / Teaching after declaration of Final result of B.Sc. Nursing or prior to or after Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing before 26.07.2012 (date of Counselling)
NO OBJECTION CERTIFICATE :
If a candidate is currently employed, a No Objection Certificate from the employer will be required.
PHOTOGRAPHS
Each applicant must provide three copies of his/her recent photograph, taken in a photo-studio, passport size, which must clearly show full face, head and shoulder only.
i) One photograph should be pasted on the Application Form.
ii) Two photographs should have the applicant’s name written clearly in English on the back of each photograph to be attached to the form.
HOW TO APPLY
Prospectus and Application Form etc. for M.Sc. Nursing programme for July 2012 may be obtained at the counter of the Accounts office of the C.M.C. Hospital on cash payment of Rs. 1100/- (Rupees One thousand One Hundred only) from 25th May 2012 to 4th July 2012 and by post – (Speed post / Registered post) up to 30th June 2012 by sending crossed bank draft for Rs. 1200/- (Rupees Twelve Hundred only). Draft should be made payable to “Christian Medical College Ludhiana Society” drawn on any scheduled bank, payable at Ludhiana. Money Order, Postal Order and Cheques are not acceptable.
Applicant should send the draft to the Registrar, Christian Medical College, Ludhiana-141 008, Punjab along with a covering letter stating the complete address of the applicant including pin code and mobile / phone number.

APPLICATION FEE FOR M.Sc. NURSING COURSE
The application fee is Rs.1500/- (Rupees One Thousand five hundred only) to be paid in Bank Demand Draft payable to Christian Medical College, Ludhiana Society drawn on any scheduled bank, payable at Ludhiana.
The Application Fee Once Paid is not refundable.
HOW TO SUBMIT APPLICATION
A complete application contains the following:
1. Application form completed in block letters with a photograph attached and signed by the applicant.
2. Bank Demand Draft for application fee Rs.1500/-.
3. Two copies of recent photograph of the applicant, passport size, full face, head and shoulders only. Applicant’s name should be written clearly in English on the back of each photograph not on front.
Photo Copies of:
6. Matriculation / 10th Class certificate containing date of birth & Detailed Marks Sheet.
7. B.Sc. Nursing Post-Basic/Basic or equivalent degree certificate, detail marks sheets of the whole course.
8. Migration certificate from those applicants who have their qualifying certificates from Universities other than Baba Farid University of Health Sciences
9. Eligibility certificate for candidates from Universities out of India
10. One year experience certificate in Bed-side Nursing and/or Community Health Nursing
teaching experience before 26th July 2012.
11. Registration certificate as
i) Registered Nurse and
ii) Registered Midwife or short Course Certificate in lieu of Midwifery
12. Recent Domicile certificate
13. No Objection Certificate from the Employer (if applicable).
14 . Baptism Certificate, Confirmation Certificate (if applicable) and letter from the Pastor about Church membership. Denomination of Church with address, sponsorship letter from church/body (for Sponsored Candidates only).
(These photo copies will not be returned).15. TNAI membership card Place application form and all the enclosures in the envelope provided and submit the sealed envelope to the Office of the Registrar or send it by registered post/speed post to the Registrar, Christian Medical College, Ludhiana-141 008, Punjab.
Proof of Posting will not be accepted as proof of delivery or receipt. No alterations can be made to any of the information provided on application form once it has been submitted.
If the application is submitted to the Registrar’s Office by hand or courier service, a receipt should be obtained from the office of the Registrar.
ADMISSION TEST
This will consist of:
a) Written test : objective type and multiple choice questions based on B.Sc. Nursing Syllabus prescribed by Nursing Council of India for maximum of 180 marks.
An applicant should obtain at least 45% marks in written test in order to beeligible to be considered for admission, which will be as per the merit in the final result. The merit list will be on the total marks of 200 including the additional marks as given below.
