Eligibility
For MD/MS Clinical subjects, only those candidates who have not crossed the age of 30 years as on 31st December 2012 are eligible to apply. Date of birth as recorded in the 10th standard / school leaving certificate will be taken as authentic. Age relaxation will be considered for candidates with higher qualification in the concerned subject.

For MD/MS Non clinical and all Diploma courses age limit not applicable.

A candidate, who holds MBBS degree from a recognized Medical College included in the Schedules to the Indian Medical council Act, 1956 and has obtained full registration either from the Medical Council of India or any of the state Medical Council after completing compulsory rotating internship, shall be eligible to take this examination.

Candidates who, after passing the final qualifying examination (MBBS or the foreign medical degree recognized by MCI), if undergoing 12-month compulsory rotating internship /practical training and is likely to complete the same on or before 31st March 2012 can take up this examination, provided they can produce the full registration from the MCI or any State Medical Council within one month from the date of admission.

For MDS: A candidate, who holds BDS degree from a recognized Dental college and has obtained permanent registration from any of the state Dental Council, shall be eligible to appear for this examination provided the registration certificate shall be submitted before 30th April 2012.

For Nursing

The candidate should be a Registered Nurse and Registered Midwife with any State Nursing Council.

The candidate should have passed BSc Nursing or BSc Hons. Nursing or Post Basic BSc Nursing with minimum of 55% aggregate marks from an Institution recognized by INDIAN NURSING COUNCIL.

Candidates should be medically fit.

Minimum 1 Year of work experience after basic BSc Nursing or prior or after Post Basic BSc Nursing

University Grants Commission (UGC) has invited applications for the award of Post-Doctoral Fellowship to women candidates for the year 2011 -2012 (100 slots), from unemployed women, holding Ph.D degree in their respective subjects, to carry out advanced studies and research in sciences, engineering and technology, humanities and social sciences in Indian universities and colleges.

Applications on plain paper, as per prescribed format, are invited from Indian Nationals residing in India for the Commonwealth Scholarship for higher studies, research leading to Ph.D / Masters / Post Graduate Diploma Study in New Zealand.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

Applicants should have completed Bachelor’s Degree / Master’s Degree in the subject or allied fields with minimum 65% marks. Where percentage of marks is not available and grades are mentioned, the candidates must indicate the conversion formula adopted by the University / Institution and should also indicate equivalent percentage of marks.

AGE:
The candidate should not be more than 40 years of age as on 31.05.2012.

VALUE OF SCHOLARSHIPS:
(a) Travel: International, and New Zealand domestic, air travel at the start and end of the scholarship for awardee, and reimbursement of awardee’s visa costs. In addition, a reunion travel entitlement may be available to awardees who have left dependants in their home country.

(b) Tuition Fees and other compulsory institutional course costs.

(c) Postgraduate research and thesis allowance: An allowance of NZ$1,500 and a return economy airfare to awardee’s home country for overseas fieldwork, if research component is 50% or greater.

(d) Medical and Travel Insurance

(e) Establishment allowance: NZ$3,000 paid on arrival in New Zealand to meet text book costs and to assist with other set up costs in New Zealand. At the beginning of each additional study year NZ$1,000 will be paid to cover the full year.

(f) Living Allowance: The annual rate of NZ$21,580 (NZ$415 per week) is paid fortnightly and is a contribution to living costs for day-to-day expenses, including accommodation (rent or board), food costs, utility expenses (telephone, electricity etc.), transport, personal items and course-related costs (e.g. stationery, field trips, workshops etc.)

* No funding is available for dependants. Students who choose to have their immediate family members join them in New Zealand will be responsible for their financial support.

* The New Zealand Government has the right to amend the terms and conditions of the scholarships as needed.

General Eligibility Criteria:
Applicants for the scheme must satisfy the following general eligibility criteria and any pre-determined country or regional-specific selection criteria set by NZAID and the nominating authorities. At a minimum, to be eligible to apply for a scholarship, applicants must:
(i) Have citizenship of Commonwealth developing country.

(ii) Be residing in their home country for at least two years prior to application.

(iii) Not have citizenship or permanent residence status of New Zealand or Australia, or another development country, except where their country does not issue passports and they hold a New Zealand passport.

(iv) Not be married or engaged to be married to a person who holds, or who is eligible to hold, citizenship or permanent residence status of New Zealand, Australia or another developed country, except where their country does not issue passports and they hold a New Zealand passport.

(v) Be applying to commence a new qualification and not be seeking funding for one already commenced at the PhD or Masters level.

(vi) Satisfy the admission requirements of the New Zealand education institution I which the qualification is to be undertaken, including English language criteria.

(vii) Have been working in their country of citizenship, preferably for at least two years prior to application.

(viii) Hold a first class standard (or above); or a first class degree and a relevant postgraduate qualification, which will normally be a Master’s degree.

(ix) Be available to commence their academic studies in New Zealand by the start of the New Zealand academic year in February 2013.

(x) Have already secured admission to their preferred New Zealand university; evidence of admission (eg. A letter of offer) is required with the application form; a conditional letter of offer from a New Zealand university is sufficient to allow an application to be accepted; (To be produced at the time of interview)

(xi) Have a planned programme start date (in the letter of offer) not earlier than February 2013.

Important Note:
Information on the New Zealand Commonwealth Scholarship scheme, including the list of participating New Zealand educational institutions, is available on the scholarships pages of the New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the New Zealand Aid Programme website: www.aid.govt.nz/scholarships/ .

Applicants cannot: (a) be studying full-time at post-secondary level.

(b) be transferring from another tertiary scholarship to a Commonwealth Scholarship.

(d) have been terminated from a New Zealand or Australian Government scholarship previously.

TENURE OF AWARDS:
1. Awards for Ph.D study will be made for three years in the first instance with provision for an extension of upto one further year. Each award will be made on the understanding that it will be continued for the period of the programme of study or research for which it is granted, provided that the scholar’s progress and conduct are satisfactory, but no award shall last for more than four years.

2. Each application must be accompanied by attested copies of (a) certificate of age (b) mark-sheets of the qualifying examination (c) all degrees/diplomas/certificates (d) Plan of Study for Ph.D students and (e) Name of 3 referees (Recommendation letters from the referees to be submitted at the time of interview)

3. Candidates who have already been abroad for study/training/specialization either on scholarship or on their own for a period exceeding six months are eligible to apply only if they have been in India for at least two consecutive years after returning from abroad as on 31.5.2012.

4. Applications in subject fields other than those specified above will not be considered.

5. Applications of candidates who are abroad will not be considered.

6. For research students, a statement of 500 words outlining the applicant’s proposed research topic, including research question and objectives, proposed methodology, timeline and justification for home-located research. The statement should also identify the significance and application of the proposed research topic to the development of the applicant’s home country.

7. Those who have already completed Ph.D. in India or abroad need not apply.

8. Candidates who do not possess the requisite qualifications need not apply.

9. Candidates should have adequate knowledge of geographical situation, cultural heritage of India and the donor country.

10. Documents submitted alongwith the applications will not be returned. Hence, candidates are advised to send only the photocopies of the certificates etc. duly attested by competent authority. Self attested certificates will not be accepted.

11. Since these scholarships are offered by Foreign Government, applications should invariably be submitted in English only.

12. Experience has to be supported by documentary evidence.

13. Candidates must have good knowledge of written and spoken English (The donor country reserves the right to request evidence of having passed an accredited English language test).

14. Applicants are required to be of sound health and awards are subject to successful candidates’ satisfying a prescribed medical examination by donor country.

15. Employed candidates must send their application through their employers with a "No Objection Certificate". They will not be called for interview unless the certificate is forwarded with the application.

16. Mere fulfillment of requirements as laid down in the advertisement does not qualify a candidate for interview. Interview letters in a particular subject are sent only to the best candidates after their applications are judged by a duly constituted Selection Committee of Experts.

17. Applications not in the prescribed proforma and application received after the prescribed date and incomplete applications will not be considered.

18. Canvassing in any form will be a disqualification.

19. The Selection committee’s decision about candidates for interview or selecting a candidate for nomination will be final. NO REPRESENTATIONS IN THIS REGARD WILL BE ENTERTAINED.

School of Medical Science and Technology (SMST), Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kharagpur has invited applications from MBBS graduates for admission to 3 years' post-graduate program - Masters in Medical Science and Technology (MMST) for the Academic Year 2012.

ELIGIBILITY:
The eligibility criterion for admission to MMST students is MBBS Degree (recognised by Medical Council of India) with a minimum of 55% marks in aggregate and having studied mathematics at +2 level (even as additional subject) or from any recognized Open University. Seats are reserved for SC/ST/OBC(Non creamy layer) candidates and persons with disability as per Govt. of India rules.

SELECTION:
The selection is strictly based on the performance of the candidates in an objective type of written test of 2 hours duration. The candidate needs to answer 120 questions out of which 75 questions are assigned to the MBBS syllabi. The remaining questions are equally distributed to cover the syllabi of +2 level Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Each correct answer carries one mark and each wrong answer carries negative 0.25 marks. Candidates qualifying in the admission test will be called for counseling at IIT Kharagpur before final selection.

ADMISSION TEST:
The admission test is of objective type to identify the aptitude of the candidates for a program like MMST. The test is of two hours duration and held between 10:00 AM to 12:00 Noon on Sunday, 29 April 2012.

MMST 2012 application is to be submitted only by an ONLINE process (internet based) by accessing: http://gate.iitkgp.ac.in/mmst/ol/ from 23 January 2012 till 9 March 2012.

The candidate should first pay the Application Fee of Rs. 1000/- for General Category and Rs. 500/- for SC/ST/PD Category by obtaining a Demand Draft drawn in favour of IIT Kharagpur on any nationalised bank payable at Kharagpur, West Bengal.

The draft details are required while filling up the ONLINE application form after successful submission of data. The printed form, with candidate's signature and photograph pasted at appropriate place, and the Demand Draft must be sent by speed post so as to reach by 15 March 2012 to The Chairman, GATE, IIT Kharagpur, Kharagpur - 721302.

Christian Medical College (CMC), Ludhiana has invited applications for admission to MDS courses of Academic Year 2012.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENT:
(1) Academic:
(a) Applicants must have passed the Final Professional BDS Examination of a recognized university and have completed 12 months paid compulsory rotating
internship program (as prescribed and approved by Dental Council of India) by 31st March 2012.
(b) An Indian national studying in Foreign University/ School must produce an eligibility certificate recognizing the qualifying examination as equivalent
to BDS as recognized by the Baba Farid University of Health Sciences and Dental Council of India. This may be obtained from the Registrar, Baba Farid University
of Health Sciences, Faridkot-151 203 Punjab, and the Secretary, Dental Council of India, Aiwan–E-Galib Marg, Kotla Road, New Delhi 110 002.

(2) Registration:
Applicants must be registered with the State Dental Council /Dental Council of India.

(3) Nationality:
Applicants must be Indian Nationals.

(4) Rotating Internship Program:
An applicant must have completed 12 months paid compulsory rotating internship by 31st March 2012. A certificate to this effect must be submitted along with application form from the Principal of the concerned Dental College.

For availing by Post, Applicant should send the draft to the Registrar, Christian Medical College, Ludhiana 141008, Punjab along with a covering letter stating the course for which prospectus and application form are required and mentioning the complete postal address of the applicant including pin code.

ENTRANCE EXAMINATION FOR ADMISSION TO POST GRADUATE
COURSES IN DENTAL SURGERY (MDS), KERALA – 2012

1. Applications are invited for the Entrance Examination for admission to MDS courses for the
year 2012 in the Government Dental Colleges at Thiruvananthapuram, Kottayam and
Kozhikode and self financing colleges which have agreed for seat sharing with Government.
2. Eligibility for Admission:
(i) Nativity: Applicant should have satisfied any of the following conditions.
(a) Indian citizen of Kerala Origin.
(b) Have passed the BDS Degree from any of the Dental Colleges in Kerala.

(ii) Academic Qualifications: BDS Degree from any of the Universities in Kerala or of any
other University recognized by any of the Universities in Kerala as equivalent thereto with
eligibility for full registration in respect of all courses. Applicants who will complete one
year Compulsory Rotating Resident Internship on or before 15.04.2012 are eligible to apply
for the Entrance Examination, subject to the condition that the admission will be given only
after obtaining registration of Kerala Dental Council.

(iii) Age: Upper age limit for General Merit Candidates shall be 45 years and that for service
candidates is 47 years as on 30.04.2012.
3. Entrance Examination: All Candidates seeking admission to MDS Courses will have to qualify
by securing a minimum of 50% marks (40% marks for SC / ST/ SEBC candidates) in the
Entrance Examination to be conducted by the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations
(CEE). The Entrance Examination will be conducted on 19-02-2012 (Sunday) at
Thiruvananthapuram. The Entrance Examination will consist of one paper of three hours
duration and having 200 objective type (multiple choice) questions.

4. Application Form & Application Fees: All candidates seeking admission to the course shall
apply online through the website www.cee.kerala.gov.in from 10-01-2012 (Tuesday)
onwards. Prospectus also can be downloaded from this website. Separate applications have
to be submitted by General Quota and Service Quota candidates. The application forms and
Prospectus will not be available from the colleges or from the Office of the Commissioner
for Entrance Examinations. Candidate should take a printout of the online application
submitted, put the signature wherever necessary and should affix a photograph self
attested by the candidate.
The application fee is Rs.1000/- for General Quota only and Rs.1000/- for Service
Quota only. Candidate applying for both General and Service Quota will have to remit
Rs.2000/-. The application fee for SC / ST candidates is Rs.500/- and if applying for service
quota too, Rs. 1500/-. The application fee can be remitted in any branch of State Bank of
Travancore using the Bank Chalan available with the printout of the application submitted
online. Candidates outside Kerala can remit the required fee by way of Demand Draft drawn
from any nationalized bank in favour of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations,
Thiruvananthapuram, payable at Thiruvananthapuram. The application fee once remitted
will not be refunded on any account.
5. Last Date and Time for Submission of Applications: All candidates including service
candidates who seek admission under General / Service Quota should forward the print out
of the application submitted online along with all the required documents mentioned in
clause X (C) of the Prospectus and Bank Chalan [or DD] to the Commissioner for Entrance
Examinations, Housing Board Buildings, Santhinagar, Thiruvananthapuram – 695 001,
either by Registered post / Speed post / Hand delivery so as to reach him before 5 pm on
21-01-2012 (Saturday).

However, the service candidates seeking admission under Service Quota should forward a
copy of the application along with all required documents mentioned in clause X (C) of the
Prospectus to the Controlling Officer concerned (DME / DHS / DIMS ) so as to reach them
before 5 pm on 21-01-2012 (Saturday).
6. Late applications including those brought after 5 pm on 21-01-2012 will not be accepted.
The Commissioner for Entrance Examinations will not be responsible for any postal delay.
Incomplete, defective and wrongly addressed applications will be summarily rejected and
no correspondence will be undertaken in this regard.
7. Issue of Admit Cards: The Admit Cards for all the candidates appearing for the Entrance
Examination will be available online in the website www.cee.kerala.gov.in from
12.02.2012 onwards. The candidates may take the printout of the Admit Card which can be
used for identification of the candidate in the examination hall.
8. The candidates must note that they have to obtain the required certificates in the body of
the application form itself, wherever specified. The certificates that are attached
separately along with the application form will not be considered. Candidates will neither
be allowed to include any information in the application form nor to submit any certificates
/ documents claiming reservation or any other benefits, after the submission of the
application, under any circumstances.
9. The Commissioner for Entrance Examinations will conduct the Entrance Examination,
prepare and publish the rank list of candidates who qualify in the Entrance Examination and
forward the list to the Director of Medical Education (DME). The CEE will also prepare a
separate list of Service candidates who qualify in the Entrance Examination and forward the
same to the DME.

10. The Selection, admission and allotment of seats including those under Service Quota will be
made by the DME, based on various provisions laid down in the Prospectus for admission to
M.D.S – 2012 approved by the Government of Kerala. Candidates may go through the
various provisions of the prospectus available in the website www.ceee.kerala.gov.in
before submitting the application forms.

Commissioner for Entrance Examinations (CEE), Kerala has notified the Admission to the Medical, Fisheries, Veterinary, Agriculture, Engineering and Architecture courses for 2012.

According to the Prospectus issued by the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations in this regard, the Sale of Security Cards along with the Prospectus through selected Post Offices and submission of Online Application will commence on 19th January, 2012 and will continue till 14th February, 2012. Online submission of application, can be done till 5 pm on that day.

The last date for receipt of Printout of the online application along with supporting documents at the office of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations will be 15th February, 2012.

Facility for downloading of the Admit cards for the Entrance Examination will be activated on 24th March, 2012.

Dates of Examinations: The Engineering Entrance Examination (For admission to engineering courses except Architecture) will be held from 10 am to 12.30 noon (IST) on 23rd and 24th April, 2012. Paper-I (Physics & Chemistry) will be held on 23rd April (Monday) and Paper-II (Mathematics), on 24th April (Tuesday).

Paper-I, Chemistry & Physics of the Medical Entrance Examination will be held from 10 am to 12.30 noon (IST) on 25.04.2012 (Wednesday) and Paper-II: Biology will be held from 10 am to 12.30 pm on 26.04.2012 (Thursday).

Examination Centres: The Entrance Examinations will be held at selected venues in all the Districts in Kerala, New Delhi and Dubai (UAE).

Results: The results of the Medical Entrance Examination are expected to be announced on or before 25th May, 2012 and that of Engineering, on or before 25th June, 2012.


Eligibility

Nationality: Applicant should be an Indian citizen. Persons of Indian Origin (PIO)/Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) will be treated on par with Indian citizens for the limited purpose of admission. However, PIO/OCI candidates are not eligible for any kind of reservation.

Nativity: Applicant should be a Kerlaite or Non-Kerlaite. Applicants are considered for admission to various types of seats allotted by the CEE, based on their Nativity status.

Kerlaite: Applicants of Kerala origin will be categorized as ‘Keralites’. Others will be categorized as ‘Non-Keralites’. Children of All India Service (AIS) Officers allotted to Kerala cadre will be deemed as ‘Keralites’. However, such candidates will not be eligible for any Communal/Special/Persons with Disability reservation.

An applicant will be considered as a ’Keralite’, for the limited purpose of eligibility for admission, if (a) he/she or his/her father/mother was born in Kerala OR (b) he/she has been a resident of Kerala for a period of 5 years within a period of 12 years OR (c) he/she has undergone his/her school studies from Standards VIII to XII in educational institution(s) in Kerala, subject to the submission of the relevant certificates in the application form as prescribed in Clause 6.1.1 of the Prospectus. Applicants who are children of All India Service (AIS) officers allotted to Kerala cadre, claiming Keralite Status, should produce a certificate from the competent authority showing that the parent of the candidate is an AIS officer allotted to Kerala cadre.

Non-Keralites: Non-Keralites are classified as ‘Non-Keralite Category-I’ and ‘Non-Keralite Category-II’. ‘Non-Keralite Category-I’ candidates are those who have undergone the qualifying course in Kerala, and who are the sons/daughters of Employees of the Government of India and Defense personnel posted to Kerala OR employees who are serving in connection with the affairs of the Government of Kerala, subject to the condition that, all categories of the employees mentioned, should have served in Kerala for a minimum period of 2 years or should have served in connection with the affairs of the Government of Kerala for a minimum period of 2 years. Such candidates will be eligible for admission to the ‘State Merit’ seats only, for all the courses.

Candidates who do not belong to the ‘Keralite’ or ‘Non-Keralite Category-I’ will be treated as ‘Non-Keralite Category-II'. They are eligible for admission only to the Management Quota seats in Government Controlled Self-financing Engineering Colleges and Government seats in the Private Self-financing Engineering Colleges in the State and in the. Non-Keralite candidates will not be considered for admission against reserved seats.


Admission Criterion:

Engineering: Admission to Engineering courses will be based on the rank list prepared by giving equal weightage for the marks in the Engineering Entrance Examination and the grade/mark obtained in the final year of the qualifying examination for Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry/Computer Science/ Biotechnology/Biology after effecting the standardization procedure prescribed in the Prospectus.

Courses in the Engineering stream include the B.Tech Courses in Engineering Colleges and the B.Tech in Agricultural Engg and Food Engineering under the Kerala Agricultural University and B Tech Dairy Science & Technology under Kerala Veterinary & Animal Sciences University.

Medical: Admission to the Medical, Agriculture and Veterinary courses will be based on the rank in the Medical Entrance Examination to be prepared on the basis of total marks in the Medical Entrance Examination.

Courses in the Medical/Agriculture/Veterinary stream include (i) MBBS (ii) BDS (iii) BHMS (iv) BAMS (v) BSMS (vi) BSc. Hons. (Agriculture) (vii) BFSc. (Fisheries) (viii) BSc. Hons. (Forestry) and (ix) BVSc & AH

Architecture: Admission to the Architecture course will be based on the rank list prepared by giving equal weightage for the marks in the National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) and the marks in the qualifying Examination. No Entrance Examination will be conducted by the CEE for admission to B.Arch. course. Those desirous of seeking admission to B.Arch course should compulsorily appear and qualify the National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) conducted by the National Institute of Advanced Studies in Architecture (NIASA) and also apply separately to the CEE as in the case of those taking the Engineering/Medical Entrance Examinations.


Application Forms

Only one application need be submitted for admission to one or more of Medical/Agriculture/Veterinary, Engineering and Architecture courses.

Application can be submitted only online at www.cee.kerala.gov.in Even though there is no Entrance Examination for Architecture, conducted by the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, those desirous of being considered for B Arch admissions have to apply as per this Notification.

Application Fee: Application Fee is Rs.700/- for General category and Rs.350/-, for SC/ST category. Scheduled Tribe (ST) candidates whose annual family income is below Rs.40,000/- are exempted from payment of Application fee on condition that they produce Income Certificate and Caste Certificate from Revenue Authorities .

Those applicant s who choose Dubai as Centre will have to remit an additional fee of Rs.10,000/- by way of a Demand Draft taken in favour of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, from a Nationalized Bank and payable at Thiruvananthapuram along with the application printout.

Application fee can be paid either by remitting the amount in cash at one of the notified Post Offices or by way of Demand Draft taken in favour of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, from a Nationalized/Scheduled Bank and payable at Thiruvananthapuram.

Sale of Security Card: Application can be submitted after procuring the Security Card. Security card needed for online submission of Application along with the Prospectus can be obtained from 19th January 2012 till 14th February, 2012, through selected Post offices in the state on payment of the required fee. The list of outlets will be available at the appropriate link at http://www.cee-kerala.org / and www.cee.kerala.gov.in

The Security Card will consist of a Key Number inside the Security panel on the card and will also have a serial number. The two are unique to each applicant and will be needed for online submission of application.

Online Application: Application can be submitted online at www.cee.kerala.gov.in till 5 pm on 14th February, 2012 at the link ‘KEAM-2012-Online Application’. Online submission of application includes Candidate Registration, Candidate login, filling up of the Application, Final Submission of Application, Payment of Application Fee, taking Printout of the Application and Sending the printout and supporting documents to the Office of the CEE to reach there within the stipulated date. The detailed procedure with respect to each activity is given in the Prospectus (Page 20).

Last Date: The Printout of the Online Application along with all the required documents as per the Prospectus and the Demand Draft (if applicable), should reach ‘The Commissioner for Entrance Examinations Housing Board Buildings, Santhi Nagar, Thiruvananthapuram-695001’ by 15th February, 2012.

Admit Cards: Facility will be provided to download the Admit Card from www.cee.kerala.gov.in from 24th March 2012. Those who nare unable to download their Admit card and take a printout of the same can get an Identification Certificate from Notified centres between 9 am and 1 pm 22.4.2012. Details are given in Clause 9.6.2 of the Prospectus.

Scheme of the Examination: The Entrance examination for Medical and Engineering streams will be objective type with Multiple Choice Questions and based on single response. Against each question, five suggested answers would be given, from which the candidate will have to select and mark the alphabet (A,B,C,D or E) corresponding to the ‘most appropriate response’ in the OMR Answer Sheet.

Each Paper will have 120 questions to be answered in 150 minutes. In Engineering Entrance Examination, Paper I will have 72 questions from Physics and 48 from Chemistry. Paper II will have 120 questions from Mathematics. In Medical Entrance Examination, Paper I will have 72 questions from Chemistry and 48 from Physics. Paper II will have 120 questions from Biology.

Syllabus: The detailed syllabus for the Entrance Examination is available in the Prospectus.

Scoring: For each correct response the candidates will be awarded 4 marks, and for each incorrect response, one mark will be deducted from the total score.

Minimum mark: A candidate has to score a minimum of 10 marks in each of Paper I and Paper II to be eligible to be considered for ranking. For SC/ST applicants, there is no minimum mark stipulated to qualify in the Entrance Examinations except for the courses specified.

Minimum mark for MBBS/BDS Admissions: For admission to MBBS/BDS courses, only those who score a minimum of 50% marks in the entrance examination will be considered for ranking. SC/ST candidates and SEBC candidates satisfying the income criterion specified need only 40% marks in the entrance examination to be considered for MBBS/BDS admissions. Candidates with Locomotory disability of lower limbs between 40% and 70%, should score 45% marks in the Medical Entrance Examination to be considered for admission to MBBS/BDS courses.

Minimum marks for Architecture admission: For NATA minimum mark needed to qualify is 40% (80 out of 200).

Who is eligible?
Bachelor’s or Post Graduate Degree or its equivalent in any discipline with a minimum of 50% marks.
Final Year Degree students may also apply, subject to completion of the degree requirements with minimum 50% marks by July 2012.
CAT 2011 Scores are used for shortlisting candidates who apply for admission to BIM.
All applicants to BIM should take CAT Online Test (Conducted by IIMs from 22nd October to 18th November 2011)
(IIMs have no role either in the selection process or in the conduct of program)

How to apply?
Prospectus and Applications can be obtained by any of the following ways:
By sending a Demand Draft for Rs.1400/- (SC/ST Rs.920/-) along with two self-addressed slips by regular mail to the BIM address given below.
By online registration at www.bim.edu with an option to pay by Demand Draft/Credit Card/Debit Card/Net Banking.
For payments through Credit card/Debit card/ Net Banking an amount of Rs.1,450/- should be paid instead of Rs.1400/- and (for SC/ST Rs.950/- should be paid instead of Rs.920/-)
Demand Draft should be drawn in favour of Bharathidasan Institute of Management payable at Tiruchirappalli.
(Note: Application money paid will neither be refunded nor transferred to another candidate under any circumstances. SC/ST candidates must send their community certificate photo copy along with the requisition and DD to get the application form. SC/ST candidates can register through online or they can get the form directly from BIM.)

Common Admission Test Window * 22nd October to 18th November 2011
Last date for issue and submission of BIM application forms is 30th January 2012 (changes will be announced later)
