COURSE DETAILS
M.Sc. in Biopolymer Science is a Four semester regular course ( 2years ) offered by Centre for Biopolymer Science & Technology-CBPST, Cochin - in collaboration with CUSAT. Biopolymers is an emerging area, which is gaining attention due to its sustainability and environment friendly characteristics.

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS

Eligibility 
1. Candidates for admission to the Master of Science in Biopolymer Science Degree Course shall be required to have passed the B.Sc. Degree examination  with Chemistry as one of the subjects  ( Main or one of the subsidiary subjects ) of any University / Institution approved by UGC. The candidate should have passed the qualifying examination with a minimum of 50% Marks in the main and subsidiary subjects taken together.  Communal reservation of seats shall be as per existing rules of the University. 

2. Candidates, who have completed the course or have appeared for the final qualifying examination, can apply for the said Course. Such candidates shall attain eligibility before taking admission to the Course and shall submit Provisional Certificate and all marklists of the qualifying examination as a proof of fulfilling eligibility criteria.     

Selection of Candidates 
Candidates for this course  will be selected based on Departmental Admission Test
( DAT ) / Interview , jointly conducted by Department of Polymer Science & Technology, 
CUSAT and CBPST , Cochin.

Eligibility 
The eligibility for admission to MBA full time degree course under the University of Kerala  is a pass in BA, B.Sc, B.Com with 50% marks in aggregate in Part III and for all other degree 50% marks in aggregate. The degree shall be one recognized by the University of Kerala.

Scope
National Folklore Support Centre’s Tata Fellowships in Folklore are meant for M.Phil level students/ scholars residing in the geographical areas of participating Universities/colleges. This program facilitates an M.Phil level scholar belonging to one community to work collaboratively with another community’s elder or an artist to document the community elder/ artist’s folklore/tradition for a year-long period. Each fellowship will carry an award of Rs.9450/- per month for the scholar and another Rs.9450/- per month for the community elder or artist. In addition to the monthly award each fellowship carries a contingency of Rs.50,000/- per annum to cover travel and documentation expenses. National Folklore Support Centre will coordinate with the departments of the participating Universities/colleges to select and eventually archive the audiovisual documentation resulting out of this program. National Folklore Support Centre will also use the documentation for its teaching program. The application must be sent by the scholar along with the consent letter of the community elder/artist.

• The specific cultural tradition of the community elder/artist you seek to research and document
• The research questions that are central to your project
• The research and documentation methods you seek to follow
• Description of what you consider important in the collaborative undertaking between you and the other community elder/ artist
• A monthly work plan for a period of one year starting from September 2012 to August 2013
• The proposed outcomes of the project including how the documentation can be used in teaching programs.

• Supporting material to show your experience in undertaking this research and documentation project

• Your postal address, telephone/fax numbers, and email address
• Consent letter from the other community elder/artist to collaboratively work with you for a period of one year to facilitate the research and documentation process.

Selection Procedure
• The concerned professors would advertise the fellowship announcement in the geographical areas of their University/college
• Out of the all application received the concerned professors would shortlist five applications and send them to NFSC
• NFSC would further shortlist three out of five applications from each participating University/college.
• Two out of three applicants from each participating institution will be chosen in an interview with the selection committee.

Total Number of Fellowships for the second round of fellowships in the year 2012-2013: 20 (Twenty):- Two per participating institution.

Eligibility
You are eligible to apply if you are an Indian national living in the geographical area of the participating Universities/colleges. Senior scholars above the age 55 and retired scholars are NOT eligible for this fellowship.

Important Dates

The shortlisted applications from the professors should reach NFSC on or before July 20, 2012.

Interview and training
The interview for shortlisted candidates will take place on August 10, 2012 at the Central University of Jharkhand, Brambe, Ranchi, Jharkhand.

Development of multimedia-based web environment facilitates effective communication that support decision-making. There is, therefore, a need to expose these to the scientists, faculty of ICAR/SAUs and programme coordinators of KVKs and the NAIP consortia members who are involved in information development, teaching and technology transfer as well  as agribusiness. Considering these needs the programme is designed to enhance the skills in Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) for Agriculture Knowledge Management.  

Objectives
• To sensitize the participants on the ICT models in agriculture using traditional and modern ICT tools for information sharing and agri business 
• To orient the participants on the latest content management practices, Database management Technologies and enhance their skills in making use of these tools  
• To expose the participants on Participatory Geographic information Systems (PGIS) for decision support, and, e-learning modules 
• To facilitate the participants in generation of web based and multimedia based information modules. 

Course Content  
ICTs application for content modules development in agriculture education, research and technology transfer in  regular and web based environments, ICT models in agriculture using traditional and modern ICT tools, content capturing practices, Knowledge sharing in web based mode, Database management, PGIS, Reusable learning objects (RLOs) and ICTs for Agribusiness.  

Participants 
Senior and Middle level Scientists and Faculty in ICAR institutes, SAUs KVKs and NAIP Consortia members involved in Education, Research, Training & Technology Transfer activities.  Basic knowledge of computers is essential. Participants are advised to bring the background material, relevant graphics and data for developing web based and multimedia based modules. 

Duration 
October 3-17, 2012 (both days inclusive). Participants are expected to arrive latest by evening of October 2, 2012, and can leave after 1600 hrs on October 17, 2012. 

TA/DA
The Traveling cost, boarding etc. of the selected participants will be met out of the grant from the Learning and Capacity Building Project of NAIP. All participants will be reimbursed to and fro travel fare for the journey to Hyderabad by rail or bus or other means of transport used, on production of certificate for travel by the shortest route. 


The TA is restricted to the maximum of AC II tier train fare. Participants are required to produce a Photostat copy of the rail/bus ticket (only by public transport) for reimbursing the travel expenditure.  DA will be paid as per NAIP/ICAR rules. Local participants will be provided lunch and inter session tea.   Participants are requested not to bring any family members along with them. Accommodation and boarding will be provided by the institute organizing the training. 


Board and Lodging 
The programme is fully residential. Accommodation will be provided with singleseated and furnished rooms. Bed tea, breakfast, lunch, evening tea and dinner will be served in the hostel.  


Travel  
Hyderabad is well connected by air, rail, and road. Participants travelling by train should alight at Secunderabad or Hyderabad railway station. City transport service is available to reach the Academy. Bus route No.95R from Koti opposite to Osmania Medical College is the most convenient service as it plies through the Academy Campus. Other routes 94R, 94H  from Koti can be used to reach Rajendranagar bus stop (about a kilometer away from NAARM) from where auto can be hired to reach the Halls of Residence. The participants may also hire auto directly from the Railway Station. Participants are advised to make their return journey reservations at their end before leaving for Hyderabad.

Institute is affiliated to the University of Mumbai for the award of Ph.D. degree in Applied Biology, Biochemistry, Life Sciences and Biotechnology. Who can apply:
Candidates with M.Sc. in Biological Sciences/ M.Pharm./ M.V.Sc. or M.B.B.S. (securing not less than 60% marks for general category candidates and not less than 55% for SC/ST candidates in all major examinations from higher secondary (10 + 2) onwards), and willing to take up challenges in modern biology through Ph.D. programme of the Institute may submit their application in the prescribed format. Candidates who have qualified in the Ph.D. entrance test conducted by the University of Mumbai OR qualified in the fellowship examination conducted by CSIR/UGC/ICAR/ICMR/DBT only are eligible to apply.

Upper age limit is 28 years as on 10 th August 2012 (the deadline for submission of application) and it is relaxable for SC/ST/OBC/Physically handicapped persons as well as women candidates as per Government of India rules in this regard.

Printed copy of the filled application form should be submitted alongwith a Demand Draft for Rs 300/- (no application fee for SC/ST/PH candidates provided they submit supporting document) drawn in favour of “Director, NIRRH Mumbai” to In-charge, Post Graduate Studies, National Institute for Research in Reproductive Health, Jehangir Merwanji Street, Parel, Mumbai 400012, so as to reach on or before 10 th August 2012. Envelope should be marked as “NIRRH Ph.D. 2012”. Incomplete applications and applications received after the closing date will be disqualified.

Selection Procedure:
The names of the short listed candidates to be called for interview will be displayed on the NIRRH website along with Date and Time of interview (candidates have to note that individual letters regarding date and time of interview will not be sent).

The selected candidates, who have passed CSIR/UGC/ICMR/DBT examination will be preferred and avail fellowship as per the rules of these agencies. Other selected candidates will initially be paid Rs 8000/- per month for two years and encouraged to seek fellowship from other funding agencies. Reservation for various category candidates will be as per University of Mumbai guidelines.

NIRRH reserves the right to change the minimum eligibility requirements in case of receipt of large number of applications. The decision of the Admission Committee will be final and binding and no correspondence will be entertained in this regard. Canvassing in any form and/or bringing in any influence will be treated as disqualification. No traveling allowance shall be provided by the Institute and outstation candidates appearing for interview should make their own arrangements for their stay in Mumbai.

The Tata Memorial Centre (Tata Memorial Hospital) announces a Certificate Course for Medical Secretary for 01 (one) year commencing from 03.09.2012 in the department of Medical Administration, TMH.
