National Handicapped Finance and Development Corporation (NHFDC), for and on behalf of Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Govt, of India, invites applications from Students with Disabilities for award of Scholarship under the following two Scholarship Schemes :-

1. Scholarship Scheme (Trust Fund) :-
• Under this scheme, 1000 Scholarships will be awarded to eligible students with disabilities for degree and post graduate level professional and technical courses from recognized institutions in India.
• 30% scholarships will be reserved for girls, which will be transferable to male students in case of nonavailability of female candidates.
• Applicants may apply at any time in academic year for scholarship under this scheme. Scholarships will be awarded quarterly basis for the applications received in preceding quarter Under this scheme, an advance copy of application should also be submitted online (www.nhfdc.nlc.ln) b/the candidate.
• Reimbursement of Non-Refundable fees restricted to the limit of fee of similar courses in Government/ Government -aided institutions. Maintenance allowance will be paid to the students for 10 months @ Rs. 2500/ per month for Professional Graduate Courses and Rs.3000/- per month for Professional Post-Graduate Courses in one academic year. , -
• Books/Stationery allowance will be paid to students pursuing Professional Graduate Courses @ Rs.6,000/ per annum and Rs.10,000/- per annum for pursuing Professional Post-Graduate Courses.
• Visual and hearing differently-abled students in addition will be provided financial assistance for purchase of aids & appliances (only once during life time).
• Monthly income of the beneficiary/parent or guardian should not be more than Rs.25,000/- (Rs. 3.00 Lakh p.a.) from all sources. Family income includes income of parent/guardian.
• A Scholarship holder under this scheme will not avail any other scholarship/ stipend for pursuing the course.

2. Scholarship Scheme (National Fund):-
• Under this scheme, 500 Scholarships will be awarded to eligible students with disabilities for pursuing higher academic/professional or technical qualification.
• Applicant has to apply online (www.nhfdc.nic.in)  for scholarship before 30.09.2012 and scholarship shall be awarded once in a academic year under this scheme.
• Scholarship of Rs.l000/-p.m. for hostellers and Rs.700/-p.m. for day scholars studying in professional courses at graduation and above level, and Rs.700/-p.m. for hostellers and Rs.400/-p.m. for day scholars pursuing Diploma/Certificate level professional courses. Course fee reimbursed upto ceiling of Rs.10,000/-peryear.
• Financial assistance can be given for computer with editing software for blind/deaf graduate and post graduate students pursuing professional courses and for support access software for cerebral palsy students.
• Monthly income of the beneficiary/parent or guardian should not be more than Rs.15,000/ - (Rs. 1.80 Lakh : p.a.) from all sources. Family income includes income of parent/guardian.
• Scholarship holder under this scheme will not concurrently hold any other scholarship/stipend

In supersession of the Commission's notice dated 01.10.2011 notifying the above examination for the year 2009 which was postponed, a Combined Limited Departmental Competitive Examination for additions in the Select Lists for the Section Officers' Grade and Stenographers' Grade B/Grade I of some selected Services for the years 2009, 2010 and 2011 will be held by the Union Public Service Commission commencing on 15lh December, 2012 at Chennai, Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai and Nagpur (except for candidates who will compete for Stenographers Gr. I category, whose examination centre will be Delhi only) in accordance with the Rules to be published by the Department of Personnel and Training in the Gazette of India dated the 15lh September, 2012.

2. How to apply/Last Date
The applicants are required to fill in the application form online on the UPSC's website www.upsc.gov.in.  The online application form can be filled from 15th September, 2012 to 15th October, 2012 after which the link will be disabled. Candidates are also required to forward a printed copy of online-submitted application through proper channel by 29th October, 2012 to the Commission.

3. e-Admission Certificates of the admitted candidates to this examination will be uploaded in the UPSC website www.upsc.gov.in  two weeks before the date of examination and can be downloaded by the eligible candidates. No paper Admission Certificate will be issued by the Commission.

Notification and Guidelines

1.Introduction
The Indira Gandhi National Open University announces a scheme of awarding 100 Research Fellowships (IGNOU –RF) to full-time research (Ph.D) students who are enrolled with IGNOU.

2. Objective:
            The objective of the IGNOU-RF scheme is to provide opportunities to full time research (Ph.D) students who have no other financial support  to undertake research leading to Ph.D degree in the disciplines offered by the IGNOU.

3. Eligibility:
            The scheme is available to meritorious student who have secured at least 55% marks in Post-graduation (relaxation as per Govt. of India rules for reserved Categories will be applicable) and who are willing to be registered in IGNOU’s Ph.D program as a full time research scholar. For the current cycle, the Scheme is available only to those candidates who are already pursuing Ph.D. with IGNOU on full time basis..  

4. Nature of Assistance available under the scheme:
            The tenure of IGNOU-RF is initially for a period of two years from the date of award.  Upon completion of this period, the work of the fellow will be evaluated by the Doctoral Committee of the respective Discipline.  If the research work is found satisfactory,  fellowship for an additional year will be awarded to the candidate.  The total period of IGNOU-RF is three years with no further provision of extension.
a)      IGNOU-RF (Honorarium):
      @Rs.5000/- pm. during the period of the award. No other grant or allowance e.g. contingent grant, house rent allowance etc. will be admissible to the candidate.
b)     Medical :
      No separate medical assistance or allowance is provided.  However the RF may avail of the medical facilities at the campus medical unit.
c)      Leave:
      i)    IGNOU-RFs are entitled for a maximum period of 30 days of leave in a calendar year in addition to public holidays.  They are not entitled to any other leave or vacation.  Women candidates are eligible for maternity leave for 135 days at full rates of fellowships once during the tenure of their award.

ii)   In special cases IGNOU –RFs may be allowed leave without fellowship by the university upto one academic year during the entire tenure of the award for acceptance of teaching assignments on a temporary basis.  The period of leave without fellowship will be counted towards the tenure of the award.  

5. Procedure for applying for the scheme:

IGNOU-RF applications should reach the Research unit latest by 10TH September, 2012.  Applications received after this date will not be considered for award of fellowship.

6. Procedure for the award of IGNOU-RF:
a)      The applications will be scrutinized by a Committee and candidates will be short listed for an interview.
b)      All short listed candidates will be interviewed by a Selection Committee whose recommendation will be sent to Vice Chancellor for approval. The same will be ratified in the next meeting of the RCSC/RC.
c)      IGNOU-RF will be made available to the selected candidates on annual basis beginning July-2011.  
d)      Government of India policy on reservation will be strictly adhered to in selection of candidates for awards.
e)      Two fellowships, one each for male & female candidates are reserved for the children of economically weaker section (EWS as per GOI rules) of IGNOU employees pursuing Ph.D degree on full time basis. However, if there are no candidates in this category the fellowships will be made open and decision of award will be made accordingly by the Selection Committee.

7. Procedure for Monitoring the progress of IGNOU-RF:
a)      The award of IGNOU-RF will be governed by the Research Ordinance and Guidelines issued from time to time.  Her/his progress will be monitored in the same manner as is done in the case of other Ph.D students.
b)      The RF may assist the Discipline / School etc in its academic work, which includes assisting in the preparation of course materials, editing, assignment preparation, invigilation, corporate life of the University etc. 

8. Cancellation of IGNOU-RF Award:
            The fellowship is liable to cancellation in case of:
·         Misconduct
·         Unsatisfactory progress of research work/ failure to complete the course work, if any related to Ph.D.
·         The candidate found ineligible later.

Tenure           
This is purely a temporary time-bound position, and must not be considered in any way as a permanent cadre of the Institute.
The fellowship is offered initially for a period of one (1) year, and may be extended for another year based on review of the contributions made by the Fellow.

Responsibility           
The Fellow will be required to participate in the teaching and research activities of the Institute including mentoring young undergraduates and post-graduate students. The Fellow shall also carry out any other assignments related to academics as given by the Institute.

Eligibility       
Consistently good academic record followed by a Ph.D. degree in the relevant fields in Engineering/Science/Humanities. Only those candidates, who have received the Ph. D. degree within the past two years, will be considered.

Fellow Programme in Management (FPM) Admission Notice 2013-2014

The Fellow Programme in Management (FPM) is a full time, residential doctoral programme of Indian Institute of Management Tiruchirappalli (IIMT).The FPM at IIMT is globally recognized, and is a premier source of rigorous, and inter-disciplinary research in all areas of business management and public policy. The programme is committed to training individuals who will excel in their areas of research through creation of quality knowledge of international standard. FPM students will specialize in the following disciplines -
•             Finance and Accounting
•             Marketing
•             Economics
•             Quantitative Techniques
•             Operations Management

 The Mission of the FPM at IIMT is to:
•        Provide rigorous, world-class, inter-disciplinary training in all areas of business management and public policy that will equip students with the ability to conduct cutting- edge research.

•        To meet the growing manpower needs of academic institutions in India and abroad for quality management teachers

Duration of the Programme

•        Students are expected to complete the programme within 5 years. It is possible to complete the programme within 4 years also.
•        The maximum duration of the programme is 8 years.

Eligibility
Candidates should have
1)     An MBA Degree or a PGDM from IIM
 (OR)
         A Professional qualification like CA, ICWA, CS or other equivalent qualification from India or abroad
 (OR)
         First Class B.E/B.Tech/B.Arch with at least 21 months work experience as of June 15, 2013
         (OR)
         A Master’s Degree in any discipline other than management with at least 21 months work experience as of June15, 2013
         (OR)
         M.B.B.S Degree
AND
2)    Have a valid score of CAT 2012 or GATE or GMAT or GRE. Scores of GATE /GMAT/GRE should be from tests taken during 2012.              

Condition

The Master's degree or equivalent qualification / Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification should be: (a) from any of the Universities incorporated by an act of the central or state legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under section 3 of UGC Act, 1956; or (b) recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India. The Bachelor's Degree or equivalent qualification obtained by the candidate must entail a minimum of three years of education after completing higher secondary schooling (10+2) or equivalent.
 Candidates who are in the final year of their MBA/PGDM Programmes that would make them eligible can also apply. Such candidates, if selected, will be allowed to join the programme provisionally only if they submit a certificate latest by June 30, 2013 from the Principal / Head of the Department/Registrar or Director of the university/institute (issued on or before June 30, 2013) stating that they have appeared for the examinations (including practical examinations) in all the subjects required for obtaining the Master's/Bachelor's degree/equivalent qualification. Their admission will be confirmed only when they submit the mark sheet and a certificate of having passed the Master's / Bachelor's degree/equivalent qualification referred to in the certificate issued by Principal / Registrar of their college/institute. The deadline for submission of mark sheet and the certificate is December 31, 2013. Non fulfillment of these conditions will automatically result in the cancellation of the provisional admission.
Common Admission Test:

All applicants are required to appear in one of the following tests and provide a valid score
    i.            CAT of IIMs conducted during 2012
    ii.           GATE(2012)
    iii.          GMAT (2012)
    iv.          GRE (2012)

Relaxation: Candidates possessing PGDM of IIMs with a minimum CGPA of 2.5 out of 4.33 or equivalent will be eligible for applying directly, without again taking a qualifying examination.
Selection

Shortlisted candidates will be called to Tiruchirappalli for a Research proposal presentation on a research topic followed by an interview. Selection will be based on the applicant’s performance in CAT/GMAT/GATE/GRE as applicable, past academic performance, work experience, aptitude for research and performance during the research proposal presentation and the Personal Interview.To and fro travel expenses between the railway station at the place of residence (as given in the application form) and Tiruchirappalli, limited to III AC train fare, will be reimbursed by the Institute. Candidates are required to make their own arrangements for their stay for attending the Interview and candidates need to bear  the expenses related to their food and stay.


How to Apply

Candidates will be required to down load the application form and the recommendation letter. These recommendation letter will have to be completed by two referees and attached with the print out of the completed application form and should be sent to IIMT along with a DD for Rs.500/- favouring Indian Institute of Management Tiruchirappalli and payable at Trichy.
