Inter University Accelerator Centre is an Inter University user facility under UGC for accelerator based research mainly in areas of Nuclear Physics, Material Science, Atomic Physics, Radiation Biology, BioMaterials, Radiation Physics and Accelerator Physics. Details of the facilities are available in web site www.iuac.res.in.  

A walk in interview is being arranged for CSIRUGC NET (JRF) qualified students (2011 or later) with M. Sc in Physics/Biology/Life Science (2011 or later) at Inter University Accelerator Centre on 3rd November, 2012 at 10:00 AM. The candidates must bring a copy of his/her biodata along with copies of mark sheets and the letter regarding NET qualification.

The selected students will be required to join immediately in the Ph.D. Programme in Nuclear Physics, Atomic Physics, Material Science, Radiation Biology, BioMaterials, Radiation Physics and Accelerator Physics. The Students is expected to finish Ph.D with in four years from the date of joining. Selected candidates will be provided free hostel accommodation and fellowship as per CSIR/UGC norms.

IUAC also invites applications for appointment of one JRF for a period of three years leading to Ph.D under a DST funded experimental research project “Optical Spectroscopy of ionatom/molecules/solid/collisions relevant to astrophysics”. Besides the above qualifications NET/LS candidates are also eligible under project JRF.

DISTANCE COURSES  OFFERED
Courses: The following Courses are offered under distance mode.

(i) International Post Graduate Diploma in Life Insurance(IPGDLI)

(ii) International Post Graduate Diploma in General Insurance(IPGDGI)

(iii) International Post Graduate Diploma in Risk Management (IPGDRM)

Duration : of each of the above three Courses is one year – Two Semesters, each of about 16 weeks duration.

Eligibility: (i) Employed professionals with minimum Graduate Degree in any discipline (including Engg and Management) from a  recognised university/Institute with at least 50% marks. Candidates with professional qualifications like CA, ICWAI, CS are also eligible.

(ii)  Self employed  Graduates of any discipline (with minimum 50% marks) and  aged 30 years and above may also be considered for admission

(iii)   Employment is an essential criteria for admission. Employed   candidates will be considered only if their applications are   forwarded by their Employers.

Note: A. Those having Post-graduate qualification or additional degree with more than 50% will be considered even if such candidates secure less than 50% in the first degree.

B. In case of Sponsored candidates and those working in financial sector (like Banks, Mutual funds, insurance companies) the restriction of acquiring 50% in Graduation is waived.

Study Material: Every student admitted to a Course is provided with study material for each Subject. In addition a list of reference books may also be suggested.

Contact Classes: Students will be provided with opportunity of contact classes on the dates notified  for the subjects offered during that Semester. For this purpose students have to register their names in advance  Outstation students have to make their own arrangements for their stay and travel.

Examinations: Held at the end of each semester at Hyderabad. Duration of each paper is 3 hours

Maximum Period for Completion of Course: A student who is admitted to a distance course should pass all subjects and obtain Diploma  within a period of three years, counting from the year of his enrolment, after which his admission gets automatically lapsed.

Jurisdiction: All disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of the courts at Hyderabad.

ADMISSION PROCEDURE
Step 1: Admissions are open into IPGD Distance Learning programme with effect from 1st September 2012. Candidates desirous of getting admitted to the distance Courses of the Institute are advised to go through the information provided on the website and satisfy themselves before applying for admission. They  have to download the Application from the Institute’s website: www.iirmworld.org.in  / Distance learning. No separate application will be provided by the office.

Step 2:Completed Applications are to be duly  forwarded by their Employers (this is not required for self employed category of candidates) or without diluting the stipulation, the candidates can produce satisfactory proof of employment which may be accepted by IIRM, to the Institute  by courier / registered post with copies of all certificates and Demand Draft for Rs. 337/- (application fee Rs.300/- and Rs.37/- towards service tax @ 12.36%) on or before November 30th , 2012. Applications received after the due date and incomplete / defective applications without registration fees will not be entertained. Foreign / NRI candidates have to obtain Demand Draft for US $ 34/- (application fee USD.30/- and USD.4/- towards service tax) on or before November 30th , 2012 towards Registration Fee.

Step 3: Candidates selected based on their educational qualifications and experience will be informed normally within 10 days after the closing date.

Application Procedure

4. The filled in application form will have to be printed, signed and sent to Associate Dean, Aptitude Testing, 2nd floor, OPD Block,Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences, Punjagutta, Hyderabad 500 082 on or before 5.00 PM on 25‐10‐2012 along with a) candidate’s passport size photograph , b) all the documents mentioned in the annexure I and c) a demand draft (see para 5 below).
5. A demand draft for Rs.2,000/‐ (Rupees two thousand only) drawn in favour of the Director, Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences and dated between 04‐10‐2012 to 25‐10‐2012 or a NIMS cash receipt for the same amount will have to be submitted simultaneously along with the filled‐in application. The candidate must write his/her name and the course applied for on the back side of Bank Draft/NIMS cash receipt. Application fee is non‐refundable even if the application is rejected.
6. The filled in applications received after the prescribed date and time shall not be considered. The institute will not be responsible for non‐receipt of applications or delay in postal transit.
7. An acknowledgement along with registration number will be sent to the respective candidate through e‐mail after the application is processed.
8. The in‐service candidates must be sponsored by their parent department. Applications should be forwarded by the appointing authority. The in‐service candidates are required to submit “No Objection Certificate” in original from the appointing authority at the time submission of application.

Interview:
1.The eligible candidates are required to attend interview at the time and date specified.
2.Call letters for interview will be sent to the candidates through e‐mail or will be issued in person
3.Candidate appearing for the Interview will not be paid any traveling allowance.
4.Candidate appearing for the interview shall bring Bio‐data and all original certificates.

Method of Selection
1.Selection will be made based on the performance of the candidates at the Interview.
2.In the event of two or more candidates securing equal marks in the interview, their inter se merit in the descending order shall be determined as follows:
i.Candidate securing higher aggregate marks in Final MBBS examination (Part I and Part II) followed by
ii.Candidate senior in age will be considered
3.The minimum percentage of marks in the interview for admission to
post graduate certificate course shall be 50% for general category candidates and 40% for the candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and other Backward Classes.
4.The marks obtained by the candidates in the interview and merit list along with the names of candidates selected for admission will be displayed on the notice board of the Institute/website http://www.nimsedu.in  on the date specified. In case the candidate fails to report for admission he/she forfeits the right to admission.
5.Candidates have to report for admission on the date specified in person. No request for postponing the date of admission or request to appear at an earlier date shall be entertained. In case, a candidate fails to report for admission at the date and time specified, he/she forfeits the right to admission and the seat shall be offered to the next candidate in the merit list.

Admission
1. All those candidates who have been allotted the seat have to pay the fee as specified and submit the original certificates on the date of admission.
2. In all matters relating to admission, the decision of the Institute shall be final and binding on the candidates and selection cannot be questioned after admissions are closed.
3.No individual correspondence will be made for admission. Candidates are requested to follow the information displayed at NIMS notice board and website: www.nims.edu.in.
4.Fee Structure:
Rs.50,000/- (Rupees fifty thousand only) which includes tuition fee, cost of
teaching material, library fee and examination fee.
5.The fee paid at the time of admission is not refundable under any circumstances.
6.Candidates who are employed in the State of A.P in the State or Central Government, Public Sector Corporations, Local Bodies, Universities and other similar quasi Government Institutions within this State are also required to pay the above fee. Non‐payment of tuition fee will entail discontinuation of the course.

The Fellow Program of IIM Calcutta invites applications from candidates with proven academic backgrounds, who have the intellect, interest, and ingenuity to pursue doctoral studies in management sciences and related disciplines. Applicants must possess the ability, motivation, and discipline to sustain themselves in a rigorous doctoral program for four-to-five years.

Eligibility
An applicant to the Fellow Program is required to have: EITHER a First Class Master's degree in any discipline (or equivalent professional qualification) and a three-year Bachelor's degree with at least 50% marks in the aggregate; OR a First Class Bachelor's degree in Engineering. In addition, applicant must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks in the aggregate in either the Secondary or the Higher Secondary Examination of a Board (or equivalent).
A final-year student appearing for the Bachelor's degree examination in Engineering or Master's degree examination in any discipline can also apply. Such a candidate, if selected, will be provisionally admitted provided (s)he completes all requirements for obtaining the degree before 30th June, 2013. Admission of the candidate will remain provisional until (s)he produces mark sheets proving that (s)he satisfies the eligibility criteria. The deadline for submitting the final year degree mark sheets is 31st December, 2013.

Admission Tests
An applicant can apply to at most two areas of specialization. (S)he needs to have taken the Common Admission Test (CAT) in 2012 OR, depending on chosen specialization(s), alternative test(s) in lieu of the CAT as specified in the following table. Exemptions
An applicant who is a graduate of any one of the two-year full-time Post Graduate Programs of any one of the Indian Institutes of Management with a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of no less than 6.00/9.00 (or its equivalent), or a degree-holder of the PGDBM Program of IIM Calcutta with a CGPA of no less than 6.5/9.00 does not need to take any Admission Test. (S)he can apply directly using the FP Application Form(s). (S)he has to pay the application fee, and meet the application deadline. After submission of Application Form(s), the selection procedure followed for such a candidate will be identical to that of all other candidates.

NRI/Foreign Applicants
An Indian student who is, or has been, a Non-resident Indian, can apply to the Fellow Program, as can a foreign student. Irrespective of the specialization(s) that such a candidate applies for, (s)he can request that the GMAT be considered the appropriate Admission Test for him/her. (S)he needs to have taken the GMAT no earlier than 25th January, 2011 if (s)he does not hold a foreign MBA degree, and no earlier than 25th January, 2009 if (s)he does hold a foreign MBA degree.
Such an applicant must comply with the same Application Process as a domestic student – submit completed Application Form(s), pay the Application Fee, and satisfy all other criteria stated above (or their equivalents).

Interview Process
Once all valid applications are in, a subset of candidates will be short-listed (on the basis of their Admission Test scores) for an interview process. All short-listed candidates will be called for personal interviews at the IIM Calcutta campus during late March/early April 2013. Domestic candidates will be reimbursed actual AC 3-tier return train fare by the shortest route.
In a first round, candidates will be interviewed by faculty members in the area(s) of specialization to which the candidates have applied. Those who qualify in the first round will be subsequently interviewed by the faculty members of the Fellow Program Committee, who will make the final selection decisions.

Instructions For Filling Up The Application Form
An applicant is required to submit a Fellow Program (FP) Application Form 2013 for each area of specialization that (s)he applies for. Completed Application Form(s) must be submitted along with an Application Fee of Rs. 500/-. This fee should be paid by a crossed demand draft for Rs. 500/- payable to "Indian Institute of Management Calcutta" on a bank in Kolkata. An SC/ST/OBC/PWD applicant need not pay the application fee as long (s)he sends an attested photocopy of his/her SC/ST/OBC/PWD certificate.
When applying to two areas of specialization, an applicant is required to submit two separate application forms, complete in all respects, one for each area of specialization. However, a single payment of the application fee of Rs. 500/- will suffice for each applicant, as long as (s)he submits the two application forms at the same time (e.g. in the same mailing).
For each area of specialization applied for, two letters of recommendation (in the prescribed format) are required. Blank forms for recommendation letters, and instructions on how to return them, are contained in the Application Forms.

Applicant must ensure that a submitted Application Form is complete in all respects. Along with the Form, the applicant is required to submit the following "supporting documents".
Certified Documents: Provide attested copies of transcripts of Academic Records/Mark Sheets/GMAT/GATE/GRE/UGC-JRF/UGC-NET test scores. Attestation may be done by a Faculty Member of a College/University/IIM, by a Member of a Legislative Assembly, or by a Gazetted Officer. A "key" to a transcript's letter grade system should be included wherever necessary.
Research Summaries: Enclose summaries of your published or unpublished research work.
