All the candidates aspiring to take admission in the undergraduate programmes at IITs and ISM Dhanbad, for the year 2013 will have to appear in the Paper-1 of JEE (Main) - 2013, which will be conducted by JEE Apex Board during the month of April, 2013 (both online and offline). After the declaration of the scores of JEE (Main) - 2013, the top 1,50,000 candidates (including all categories) are required to register online at http://jeeadv.iitd.ac.in  to appear for the JEE (Advanced) – 2013. A fee of Rs.1800/- (Rs.900/- for SC, ST, PD and no fee for all female candidates) has to be deposited between 8th and 13th May, 2013  in any branch of State Bank of India having Core Banking Services.

The last date to register for JEE (Advanced) - 2013 (along with the required information and applicable fee) is 13th May, 2013.

Joint Admission Board (JAB) of IIT Joint Entrance Examination (Advanced)-2013 met on August 27, 2012 at IIT Delhi to discuss the forthcoming admission. The admission to the undergraduate programmes at the IITs and ISMU, Dhanbad for the year 2013 will be based on a two-tier test. The first test called the JEE (Main), will be held during the month of April, 2013 (both offline and online). This test will be conducted by CBSE. The second test, called the JEE (Advanced), will be held on June 2, 2013 (only offline). Only 1,50,000 of the top rankers in JEE(Main), which includes students from all categories( GE,OBC(NCL), SC and ST ) will be eligible to appear in JEE(Advanced).

The JEE (Advanced)-2013 will have two objective type papers. Each paper will consist of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Duration of each paper will be 3-hours. Question papers will be in both English and Hindi. Admissions to IITs will be based only on category wise All India Rank (AIR) in JEE(Advanced) subject to the condition that such candidates are in the top 20 percentile of successful candidates of their Boards in applicable categories.

1. Applications are invited for the Entrance Examination for admission to B Pharm Course [through Lateral Entry] for the year, 2012 in the Government and Private-Self financing Colleges.

2. Eligibility for Admission
(i) Nativity: Applicant should be an Indian citizen of Kerala origin.
(ii) Academic qualifications: Diploma in Pharmacy [Candidate shall have studied in an institution approved by the Pharmacy Council of India and shall have passed the diploma examination conducted by the State Board of D Pharm Examinations or equivalent and must have a minimum of 50% marks for the second year D Pharm examination]. (For SEBC/OEC candidates, 45% marks and for SC/ST Candidates a pass in the second year D Pharm examination will be sufficient.)
(iii) Age: There is no upper age limit for admission to the course.

3. Selection on the basis of Entrance Examination: Selection of candidates for Bpharm (Lateral entry) course 2012 will be made on the basis of an Entrance Examination to be conducted by the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, [CEE] at Thiruvananthapuram on 11.11.2012 (Sunday). It will consists of one Paper, of two hours duration and will have 100 Objective Type (Multiple Choice) Questions. Candidates except those belonging to SC/ST categories have to score a minimum of 10% marks in the Entrance examination, to qualify and to figure in the rank list.

4. Application forms: Prospectus and Application form will be available from 09.10.2012, in the website www.cee-kerala.org.  There will be separate application forms for general candidates and SC/ST candidates. Candidates seeking admission to this course can apply in the prescribed format, after downloading the application form, provided in the website www.cee-kerala.org of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations and then remit the required fees at any State Bank of Travancore Branch using the Bank Chalan available with the print out .Candidates residing outside Kerala State can remit the application fee by way of Demand Draft drawn in favour of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, payable at Thiruvananthapuram. Application fee is Rs.300/- for General candidates and Rs.150/- for SC/ST candidates. Application forms will not be sold from the office of the CEE or office of the DME. Application fee once remitted will not be refunded under any circumstances.

5. Last date and time for receipt of filled-in application forms: Candidates seeking admission should forward their completed application with all the required documents to the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, Housing Board Buildings, Santhinagar, Thiruvananthapuram – 695 001, either by Registered post / hand delivery /speed post so as to reach him before 5 pm on 20.10.2012 (Saturday). Admit card will be made available online from 02.11.2012 through the website www.cee.kerala.gov.in.

6. Late, defective and incomplete applications will be summarily rejected. No correspondence will be undertaken in this regard. CEE will not be responsible for any postal delay.

7. Candidates will neither be allowed to include any information in the application form nor be allowed to submit any certificates / documents claiming reservation or any other benefits, after the submission of the application, under any circumstances

8. Candidates must note that they have to obtain the required certificates in the body of the application form itself, wherever specified. The certificates that are attached separately along with the application form will not be considered under any circumstances.

9. The CEE will conduct the Entrance Examination, prepare and publish the rank list of of all candidates who qualify in the Entrance Examination and forward the same to the Director of Medical Education.

10. The allotment and admission will be done by the DME, based on various provisions laid down in the Prospectus, approved by the Government of Kerala.

Reservation:
As per Government of India norms, Mumbai, Tuljapur and Guwahati Campuses provide 15%, 7.5% and 27% reservation to Scheduled Caste, Schedule Tribe and Other Backward Classes (non-creamy layer) for each of the programmes. In addition, Persons With Disabilities (PWD) are eligible to 3% of the supernumerary seats.
As per agreement with Ministry of Development of North-East Region, Government of India, Guwahati Campus allots 66% of the seats to candidates from eight North Eastern States. And the 34% of the seats are for candidates from other parts of the country. Persons With Disabilities (PWD) are eligible to 3% of the supernumerary seats.

Campus Preference:
TISS offers 39 Master's Degree programmes from its Mumbai, Tuljapur, Guwahati and Hyderabad campuses for the 2013-2015 batch. Candidates can apply for a minimum of one and a maximum of five programmes across the four tiss campuses. However, they can opt for only a maximum of three programmes at tiss mumbai.
In case the candidate is selected for more than one programme after National Common Entrance Test, Pre-Interview Test and Personal Interview, admission will be offered to the programme higher in the order of preference.

ONLINE application is available along with this announcement. Complete ONLINE application form, pay the application fee (depending on number of programmes applied) and submit it. Candidates having trouble completing ONLINE application form or lack access to internet services can write to Mumbai campus for printed application form. Complete the application form and submit before last date of submission.

Written Test:
Written test in ONLINE format will be held on 13th January 2013 in more than 25 centres in all parts of the country. The ONLINE test is of Multiple choice objective type and thus even those with rudimentary knowledge of working with computers or cell phones can do the test. In case any candidate desires to do the test on paper, this must be indicated in the application form.
Candidates with visual impairment will be given an option to have a Reader/Writer and a paperpen test be conducted at designated centres, which will be announced closer to the test dates.

Orientation to admission process:
Candidates belonging to SC, ST, OBC, PWD and minority communities are invited to attend three day orientation proramme 14-16th December 2012 in different regions of the country. Candidates from these categories must indicate the place they would like to attend the orientation programme, and an invitation letter from the Office of Dean, Social Protection will reach them 2 weeks prior to the date of orientation programme.

Applications are invited for admission to the Department of Applied Psychology, University of Calcutta ( Rajabazar Science College, 92, Acharya Prafulla Chandra Road, Kolkata--700009) for Ph.D. course and subsequent research work for obtaining the Ph.D. degree in Applied Psychology. ADMISSION NOTIFICATION

M.Tech. Polymer Science & Technology Programme 2012-’13

            Applications are invited for admission to the M.Tech. Programme in Polymer Science & Technology at the School of Chemical Sciences during the academic year 2012-’13.   

Duration of the Programme :         Two Years (4 Semesters)
Intake of students:  10 (Ten Only)
Eligibility for Admission:
a)      Candidates should have passed the B.Tech./B.E. Degree in Polymer Science and Technology/Fiber Science & Technology/Rubber Technology/Plastic Technology/Chemical Engineering/Mechanical Engineering/Material Science/Chemical Technology with 65% marks or equivalent grade; M.Sc. in Chemistry/Polymer Science/Applied Chemistry with 60% or equivalent grade from Mahatma Gandhi University or an institution recognised by Mahatma Gandhi University.  SC/ST candidates need to have only a pass in the qualifying Degree examination.  Candidates with valid GATE SCORE will have preference.
b)     Candidates who are awaiting the results of the final examinations can also apply and they shall produce mark lists of the qualifying examination before finalizing the rank list.

Selection Criteria:
a)      Selection will be made from the rank list prepared on the basis of GATE Score.  In the case of a tie, weightage will be given to the marks of the qualifying examination.
b)     An Entrance Test will be conducted for candidates who do not have a valid GATE Score. The marks obtained in the Entrance Test and qualifying examination will be taken into account in the ratio 50:50 for preparing the rank list.
c)      If the candidate fails to report for counselling on the specified date, his/her claim for selection will not be considered further.
d)     The selection of candidates will be provisional and subject to verification of original documents.
  
GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS

1              Application form can be downloaded from the University Website www.mgu.ac.in.

3              The Registration fee is Rs. 600/-. SC/ST candidates need to pay only 50% of the Registration fee. Candidates should remit the REGISTRATION FEE by way of challan at any branch of SBT (Challan can be downloaded from the University website) at the University CASH COUNTER/FRIENDS JANASEVANA KENDRAM or by way of DD drawn in favour of the FINANCE OFFICER, MAHATMA GANDHI UNIVERSITY PAYABLE AT SBT, Mahatma Gandhi University CAMPUS BRANCH (code No.669) P.D. Hills P.O., Kottayam. Full postal address of the applicant with pin code is to be entered on the reverse side of the DD in block letters.
4              Reservation of seats, relaxation in minimum marks based on income caste, etc. will be allowed according to the rules of the Government/University.
5              The programme shall be regulated by the rules and regulations of the AICTE and the University.
6              The programme shall be conducted under Credit and Semester System.
