ON BEHALF OF AP STATE COUNCIL OF HIGHER EDUCATION



A Common Entrance Test designated in full as Engineering Common Entrance Test for Diploma Holders and for BSc (Mathematics) Degree Holders and in short as ECET [FDH & BSc (Mathematics)]-2013 will be conducted by JNT University Kakinada for admission to BE / BTech / BPharmacy programmes in Andhra Pradesh state during the Academic Year 2013-14.

Eligibility to appear for the Entrance Test:
The Candidates satisfying the following requirements shall be eligible to appear for ECET:
i. They should be of Indian Nationality.
ii. They should belong to the State of Andhra Pradesh. The candidates should satisfy local / non-local status requirements as laid down in the Andhra Pradesh Educational Institutions (Regulation of Admission) Order, 1974 as subsequently amended.
iii. They should have obtained a Diploma in Engineering and Technology / Pharmacy from the State Board of Technical Education of Andhra Pradesh State or any other Diploma recognised by the Government of Andhra Pradesh as equivalent thereto for admission into the relevant BE /  BTech /  BPharmacy courses into the Courses corresponding to the Diplomas as given in the following Annexure.

They should have passed the 3-year BSc Degree examination with Mathematics as one of the subjects in the group combination from a recognized University in the state or its equivalent for entry into relevant courses as given in the following Annexure.
iv. Candidates who are pursuing a Diploma course shall be eligible for entry into the relevant BE / BTech / BPharmacy courses provided they have completed the practical training prescribed for the award of diploma course before admission into the college.
v. Candidates should have passed Diploma in Engineering and Technology / Pharmacy / BSc Degree as the case may be with at least 45% marks (40% in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) for entry into relevant courses.

Eligibility for Admission into BE / BTech / BPharm:
(1) For lateral admission through Common Entrance Test into 2nd year regular BE and BTech Courses in All India Council for Technical Education approved Un-Aided Private Professional institutions (Minority & non-Minority).

(2) For admission through Common Entrance Test into 1st year Regular BE and BTech Courses in University Engineering Colleges for the seats specifically earmarked for Diploma holders and BSc degree holders.

(3) For lateral admission through Common Entrance Test into 2nd year Regular BPharmacy Courses in both University and private un-Aided professional institutions (Minority & Non-Minority) approved by Pharmacy Council of India.

Candidates should have appeared and qualified at the ECET-2013. Mere appearance at the Entrance Test does not automatically entitle a candidate to be considered for entry into any course unless the candidate satisfies the requirement of eligibility and other criteria laid down in the rules of admission.

Admission to 85% of the seats in each course shall be reserved for the local candidates and the remaining 15% of the seats shall be un-reserved seats as specified in the Andhra Pradesh Educational Institutions (Regulations and Admissions) Order, 1974 as subsequently amended.

POST GRADUATE DIPLOMA IN FAMILY DISPUTE RESOLUTION(PROXIMATE EDUCATION)(2013)

The International Centre for Alternative Dispute Resolution (ICADR), an Institution working under the aegis of Ministry of Law & Justice, Government of India in collaboration with NALSAR University of Law, a Residential University established by the Government of Andhra Pradesh have together structured a course to train Mediators for resolution of all kinds of family matters  avoiding litigation.  This course covers the entire law on family matters and one Paper on Psychology which includes the skills of Counselling. There are also Simulation Exercises for imparting practical training. The ICADR has successfully conducted 4 Batches and the 5th Batch is about to commence. 

The minimum eligibility for admission  to  the  diploma course  is  Graduation. The  duration  of the course is 6  months.   The Study Material  prepared by experts will be supplied to the students. The  Contact Classes will be held at specified centres depending upon the number of candidates.

A pass in any Post-graduate disciplines in Science and B.E. graduates.
    
     24) Post Graduate Diploma in SCUBA Diving for Marine Biotechnology
            A pass in Post Graduate degree in Life Sciences / Biology / Bio-Chemistry/   
            Botany / Zoology / Marine Biology / Biotechnology / Microbiology Marine
            Geology of equivalent of a recognized Indian or Foreign University, with a
            minimum of 55%  of total marks.

            For SC/ST candidates a pass is required minimum for P.G. courses and              for M.Phil. Courses 50% of marks is required minimum.
IV.COURSE REQUIREMENTS
1.            Candidates should have studied under 10+2+3 or 10+3+2 or 10+1+4 pattern.
2.                                                                                    Category -A
       a) Candidates who are undergoing the VI Semester/III year (Non 
           Semester) of the U.G. course are eligible to apply for P.G. Courses.

       b) Candidates who are undergoing the IV Semester/II year (Non-
           Semester) of the P.G. course are eligible to apply for M.Phil.

       c) Candidates who are undergoing the IV Semester /II year (Non
           Semester) of the P.G. course are eligible to apply for M.Phil.
               3.  Category-B
                 a) Candidates who are undergoing the VI Semester/III year (Non-Semester) of the U.G. course are eligible to apply for P.G.Courses.

                  b) Candidates who are undergoing the IV Semester/ II year (Non-Semester) of the PG Course are eligible to apply for Diploma Course in Geographical Information System (GIS) and Remote Sensing Applications.

                  c)   The Candidates should have successfully completed the course at the time of admission.

Enclosures to be sent along with the filled-in application.
The candidates have to submit Xerox copies of the following certificates duly attested by a Gazetted Officer along with the application. Original certificates should not be sent.
i)              SSLC,HSE mark statement.
ii)            U.G./P.G. Degree Marks statement /Grade certificates/ Provisional
         Certificate.
iii)          Community certificate obtained from Tahsildar/ Deputy Tahsildar concerned Otherwise it will not be taken into account.
            iv)     Income Certificate obtained 3 months prior to the date of advertisement (for 
                     SC/ST/Blind candidates only) from the competent issuing authority.
v)              Certificate of Physically Challenged / Leprosy cured: Candidates who want them to be considered under the Physically Challenged category should submit the certificate obtained from an authorized Medical Officer of the specialty concerned not below the rank of Civil Surgeon together with photograph showing the nature of handicap.
vi)            Sports Certificate: Candidates who want them to be considered under the Sports category should produce a certificate obtained from the concerned University Physical Director in Form-I/II/III for having represented the State / Inter-University tournaments / athletics.
vii)    Ex-Servicemen Certificate: Certificates to be produced
viii)      +2 marks statement (compulsory)
ix)          The candidates should fill-up the hall-ticket and sponsored certificate (if applicable) attached to the application and send along with the application.
x)            Two self addressed, stamped envelopes, each for Rs.10/- should be enclosed
xi)          A Demand Draft drawn in favour of the Registrar, Madurai Kamaraj University, payable at Madurai towards registration fee as prescribed by the University should be enclosed. SC/ST candidates are exempted from the payment of Registration Fee for only one course.
xii)              If a candidate wants to apply for more than one course offered by the University, separate application should be submitted for each course.  Demand Draft towards registration fee as prescribed by the University should be enclosed with   each application.  For SC/ST candidates, the exemption from payment of Registration fee is applicable only for one course and with additional applications; Demand Draft towards registration fee as prescribed by the University should be attached with each application.

The Demand Draft should have been obtained after the date of notification and on or before the last date specified for receipt of filled-in application.

Note: Cheques, Postal Orders, Money Orders and cash will not be accepted.
Students should write their name, complete address and course for which applied in Block letters on the reverse side of the demand draft.
Registration fees, once paid, will not be refunded, adjusted or transferred under any circumstances.
xiii) Filling with any wrong information or suppression of information may result in punitive action.
xiv)  Certificates other than those required need not be enclosed.
       xv) The application without the attested xerox copies of relevant certificates will                 not be considered.
      xvi)  All the columns in the application should be filled-in. Incomplete application  
              will be  rejected.

     6.       Photograph
   Two recent passport size photographs of the applicant should be affixed; one on    the column provided in the application form and the other in the Hall-Ticket (if applicable).

VI.       SUBMISSION OF FILLED-IN APPLICATION
a)      Applications defective in any particulars will summarily be rejected.

SCHOLARSHIPS

                             1.  The eligible candidates belonging to Backward class  and Most Backward class can    
                                  apply  for scholarship to the Government of Tamilnadu.

      2. The eligible candidates belonging to SC/ST communities can apply for scholarships  
           to the  Government of  Tamilnadu and the Government of India.

3. The eligible blind candidates can apply for scholarship to the Government of      
    Tamilnadu.

HOSTEL ACCOMMODATION

Separate Hostel facilities are available for men and women students in the University Campus at Palkalainagar, Madurai 625 021.

Those who need Hostel accommodation in the University campus may approach the Warden of the respective Hostels after completing admission formalities. Application form for requesting Hostel accommodation will be available in their respective Hostels.
