Applicants under the KVPY stream, interested in admissions to the five year BS-MS Dual Degree Programme for the academic session starting in August 2013 at the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research located at Bhopal, Kolkata, Mohali, Pune and Thiruvananthapuram, can apply online at http://iiser-admissions.in/applykvpy.php  till 3rd July, 2013.

To apply under the Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) stream of admission, applicant should have qualified in SA (2011)/SX(2012)/SB (2012)/SP (Passed Class XII in 2012/2013).

Before filling up online application form, applicant should keep a jpg file of his/her recent passport size photograph for uploading in the form with size not more than 100 KB. The file name should be with alphanumeric characters only, without any gap, dot or any other character in between.

Applicant will have to give the full Name as in the Class 10 Board examination certificate, Date of birth as in the Class 10 board examination certificate, Gender, Category(GE/SC/ST/OBC) under which admission is sought etc while filling the application. Those seeking admission under any of the reserved categories SC, ST, and OBC (Non-creamy), must produce appropriate category certificate at the time of counseling. Applicants seeking admission under OBC category must belong to non-creamy layer of the Central List of Government of India. These candidates must obtain non-creamy layer certificate issued by appropriate authority after March 31, 2013 only on the prescribed format. This format is available at http://iiser-admissions.in/applykvpy.php

Applicants will also have to fill other details regarding PD category (if applicable), year of passing of Class 12, Name of parent / guardian, Address for communication, PIN code, Phone / Mobile Number, Email address and KVPY Seat Number. Applicants of SP stream should give their KVPY Application Number.

Applicant will also have to select one of the 5 IISERS where they would like to attend the counselling. They will also have to give the choice of IISER whey they prefer to get admission. Applicant can select all five IISERs in order of preference for this. Applications with incomplete selection will not be accepted by the system.

Some characters like Single quote ( ' ), Double quote ( " ) and backslash ( \ ) are not accepted in the form. The form will be returned for correction if these characters are found on the application form.

After submission of all the details, applicant can preview the form. If there are errors in the data submitted, applicant may use edit button and revise/modify the Online Application Form entries. After the applicant is convinced that all the entries are correct, applicant may click on the submit button on the preview screen. After this submission, applicant will be given his/her Application Number and Login Password to login to the admission website. Applicants have to use this password for all subsequent access to the admission website. If applicant forgets his/her password, he/she may go to Applicants Login page and click Forgot Password link. Password will be sent to the applicant by email.

In the next stage, applicant will be prompted to get a bank-pay-in slip which has to be printed. Applicant should go to any branch of State Bank of India, with this challan, on the next working day, to pay application fee which is Rs.600/- for General and OBC candidates and Rs. 300/- for SC / ST categories. Rs.20/- will have to be paid as bank charges. Applicant should write down the Bank Branch Code and date of deposition on the pay-in-slip. Applicants should not tamper with the barcode printed on the bank-pay-in slip.

While accepting the application fee, the bank official will give a Unique Journal Number on the pay-in-slip. Applicant should check that the bank official has entered the Unique Journal Number on the counter foil of the applicant’s pay-in-slip.

After remittance of fee, the applicant should go to the Applicants Login page. On login, applicant will have to enter the Unique Journal Number given by the Bank in the pay-in-slip, Bank Branch Code and the date of deposition and submit.

Applicant will be prompted to upload his/her passport size photograph as per the specifications. On successful completion, applicant will be prompted to get his/her completed application. This should be printed on a good quality A4 size paper and kept along with the counter foil of bank pay-in-slip. These documents will be required at the time of counseling.

The candidate and his/her parent/guardian should read the undertaking very carefully and should sign at the bottom of the print out of the application. When called for counseling, he/she should bring this completed application form and counterfoil of bank pay-in-slip for verification. Applicant should not tamper the barcode printed on the application form.

Online applications will be received under the KVPY Scheme up to 3rd July, 2013. Of the 750 seats in the 5 IISERs, up to 25% seats in each category (General/SC/ST/OBC Non-creamy) will be through KVPY channel. All five IISERs admit students through a common application and counselling process. Applicant will have facility to give preferences in the application form for the different IISERs. Allotment is purely on the basis of the applicant's preferences and the ranks as applicable to the concerned stream.

HOMI BHABHA NATIONAL INSTITUTE (HBNI) invites applications from Engineering Post-Graduates (M. E. / M. Tech./Equivalent Degree) for its DGFS-Ph.D. programme commencing in August 2013

HBNI is a Deemed University comprising of ten institutions of the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE) as its Constituent Institutions (CIs).
For this scheme, the students will be admitted to: (1) Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC), Mumbai; (2) Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research (IGCAR), Kalpakkam; (3) Variable Energy Cyclotron Centre (VECC), Kolkata; (4) Institute for Plasma Research (IPR), Gandhinagar.

These Centers have been in the forefront of research in various branches of engineering viz. mechanical, chemical, metallurgical, electrical, electronics, instrumentation, nuclear and computers. The Ph.D. programme in Engineering Sciences is extremely challenging in view of the expanding Nuclear Power Programme of the Department of Atomic Energy. Applications are hereby invited from Engineering post-graduates for the award of fellowships under the DAE Graduate Fellowship Scheme for Ph.D. (DGFSPh.D.) for pursuing research in an Engineering discipline leading to the award of Ph.D. degree of HBNI. The terms and conditions of the Fellowships are:
1. The DGFS-PhD Fellowship is tenable for three years for doing Ph.D. in an Engineering discipline in one of the four R&D centres listed above.
2. The amount of Fellowship payable under the scheme is Rs.24000/- per month besides house rent allowance and medical benefits as applicable to DAE.
3. The selected Fellows will carry out research under the joint supervision of two guides, one having strength in basic research and the other in technology
development.
4. After the award of the Ph.D., the DGFS-Ph.D. fellows will have the option to appear for selection under K.S.Krishnan Research Associateship (KSKRA) programme without going through further process of screening. KSKRAs are selected every year and paid a stipend of Rs.26,000/- + benefits for a maximum
period of 2 years. Anytime during the 2nd year of associateship, subject to satisfactory performance, the KSKRAs will be absorbed in one of the R&D centres of
DAE as above and appointed in the Grade Scientific Officer (D) (Approx. emoluments Rs. 58,000) or Scinetific Officer (E) (Approx. emoluments Rs. 65,000) per month

ELIGIBILITY
a. Qualifying Degree and other academic qualifications: Candidates should possess M.E. / M.Tech. or equivalent degree in Mechanical/Chemical/Metallurgical/Nuclear/ Electrical/ Electronics/ Instrumentation or Computer engineering disciplines with minimum 60% Marks in B. E. /B.Tech. Those who obtained M.Tech based on any other qualifying degree should have secured minimum 60% of marks in that degree and minimum of 60% marks in M. E. / M. Tech. or equivalent degree as per the Ordinance of the respective degree awarding University OR equivalent CGPI (converted to % Marks by multiplying with 100/x if the CGPA is on x points scale).

b. Age limit: The candidates desirous of availing DGFS-Ph.D. Fellowship should have been born on or after August 1, 1985. Age limit is relaxable by three years
for OBC and by five years for SC/ST applicants. Persons with Disability (PWD) of all categories are eligible for age relaxation of 10 years. The age limit for the
candidates working as faculty in Engineering Colleges desirous of doing Ph.D. without the fellowship grant is 40 years.

c. Nationality: Applicant should be an Indian citizen.

SELECTION PROCESS
Applicants who fulfill the above mentioned eligibility criteria, and whose M.Tech. project is of relevance to DAE, will be called to BARC, Mumbai on 6th July 2013 for a written screening test followed by interview of selected number of candidates. Screening will be based on previous academic record and performance in the screening test. Selection will be based on performance in interview. The candidates should be prepared for a 10 minutes presentation on their research interest. Outstation applicants called for interview will be paid, after their interview, to and fro sleeper class train fare by shortest route, or actual fare, whichever is less.

Applications have been invited by Indian Institute of Technology (Banaras Hindu University), Varanasi for admission to PG (MTech / MPharm / PhD) Programmes of Academic Year 2013-14.

Eligibility Conditions:
MTech / MPharm Programmes:
Candidates who possess the requisite qualifications are eligible for admission to Post-Graduate programmes in the respective departments / schools of the Institute leading to MTech / MPharm degree. The candidates should have secured a minimum of 60% marks / 6.0 CPI (on a 10.0 point scale) in the qualifying degree. In addition, they should have valid score in the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) for MTech Programmes / Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test (GPAT) for the MPharm Programme.

Graduates from any of the IITs with a minimum CPI 8.0 (on a 10.0 point scale) in the qualifying degree are exempted from the requirement of having valid GATE / GPAT score for admission as well as for teaching assistantship, provided they perform at the desired levels in the written test / interview.

PhD Programmes
Applicants having the requisite qualification with minimum marks / CPI as mentioned below in the discipline concerned or in an allied discipline / area are eligible for admission to PhD programmes.

PhD in Engineering
a) Applicants with master’s degree in engineering in the discipline concerned or in an allied discipline / area should have a minimum of 60% marks or 6.0 CPI (on a 10.0 point scale) at the master’s degree level.
b) Applicants with bachelor’s degree in engineering in the discipline concerned or in an allied discipline / area should have a minimum of 75% marks or 7.5 CPI (on a 10.0 point scale) at the bachelor’s degree level.
c) Applicants with master’s degree in science as an allied discipline / area (where science is an allied discipline / area), should satisfy each of the following criteria may also be considered:
(i) A minimum of 65% marks or 6.5 CPI (on a 10.0 point scale) at the master’s degree level,
(ii) A minimum of 60% marks or 6.0 CPI (on a 10.0 point scale) at the bachelor’s degree level, and
(iii) Qualified in GATE with 95 percentile or above or NET-LS or CSIR / UGC-NET-JRF.

PhD in Pharmaceutics
a) Applicants with master’s degree in pharmacy or in an allied discipline / area should have a minimum of 60% marks or 6.0 CPI (on a 10.0 point scale) at the master’s degree level.
b) Applicants with Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy should have a minimum of 75% marks or 7.5 CPI (on a 10.0 point scale) at the Bachelor’s degree level.

PhD in Sciences
a) Applicants with master’s degree in science in the discipline concerned or in an allied discipline / area should have a minimum of 60% marks or 6.0 CPI (on a 10.0 point scale at the master’s degree level.
b) Applicants with bachelor’s degree in an allied discipline / area should have a minimum of 75% marks or 7.5 CPI (on a 10.0 point scale) at the bachelor’s degree level.

PhD in Interdisciplinary Programmes
a) PhD in Industrial Management
Applicants with bachelor’s degree in any branch of engineering and master’s degree in any branch of engineering / management should have a minimum of 60% marks or 6.0 CPI (on a 10.0 point scale) at the master’s degree level.
b) PhD in Bio-chemical Engineering / Bio-medical Engineering / Materials Science and Technology Applicants with master’s degree in the discipline concerned or in an allied discipline should have a minimum of 60% marks or 6.0 CPI (on a 10.0 point scale) at the master’s degree level.

11. Transfer from Self-Financing Law College can only be to another Self Financing Law College.

Applications are invited for enrolment in Ph.D. program in Botany from Post Graduate students of Botany (or allied disciplines, subject to endorsement by the concerned Ph. D Committee). Maximum up to 45 candidates will be selected on the basis of merit.

Central Food Technological Research Institute (CFTRI), the pioneering organization in Research and Development in the area of Food science and Technology and Human Resource Development. CFTRI is ISO 9001:2008 & ISO 14001:2004 Organization and ISO 17025:2005 Accredited Laboratory. As a part of human resource development, an International School of Milling Technology was established as a joint Indo-Swiss venture and Roller Flour Miller's Federation of India project during 1981 to serve the needs of flour milling industry in India and other developing countries with regard to training in flour milling technology.

So far 31 regular courses in Flour Milling Technology have been completed and 32nd is in progress. In these courses, 605 participants including 100 from some of the other developing countries such as Bangladesh, Cambodia, Ethiopia, Ghana, Guyana, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kenya, Liberia, Mongolia, Nepal, Nigeria, Oman, Pakistan, The Philippines, Srilanka, Syria, Suriname, Uganda, United Arab Emirates, Vietnam, West Indies, Yemen, Zambia, have been trained. These trained personnel are serving in different roller flour mills in India and in various other countries. Since then, there have been qualitative changes in the working of these mills as per the feedback received from the milling industry.

Infrastructure Facilities
International School of Milling Technology is first of its kind in South East Asia. ISMT enjoys the facilities and expertise of CFTRI. ISMT enjoys the fully dedicated computer controlled pilot roller flour mill, where students are taught milling systems as per the international and Indian sub continental standards.

ISMT is also equipped with analytical laboratory for testing physico-chemical attributes of raw material and finished products. In addition test baking and pilot scale baking facilities are available for assessing quality of milled products.

CFTRI is having renowned library in the field of Food Science & Technology. Library is a National Information Center for Food Science & Technology.

The theory as well as practical subjects taught at ISMT are divided into four groups namely:
(1.)  Milling and Cognate subjects: Diagram Technique, Mill Operation, Mill Machine, Mill practice- I & II, Automatic Milling practice,Cereal Science and Baking Technology
(2.)  Basic subjects: Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics
(3.)  Applied Subjects: Mechanics, Electrical Technology-Theory and practical, Energy Management, Technical Drawing, Infestation Control, Packaging Technology, Feed Milling, Nutrition, Computer Science.
(4.)  Study Tour: Study tour to various commercial Rollers Flour mills & allied industries.

Course also includes four weeks Inplant training at ISMT Mill (20 tons/day capacity) & Automatic Mill practical classes; wherein each participant will be Head Miller. Diffrent Guest lectures are also arranged on various other topics. The mill has been modernized with latest machineries in cleaning and grinding sections, flour fortification and automatic flour handling and packing.

The course has been gradually updated making it effective and responsive to the needs of the milling industry especially in developing countries of tropical areas. The course is aimed at turning out best technical personnel cum Managers equipped with the necessary capability to take up the challenges of managing modern roller flour mills.

Faculty
Teaching faculty consists of highly qualified & experienced members drawn from CFTRI for covering different subjects for the course.

The 33rd regular course in Flour Milling Technology is scheduled to start on 19th August 2013. Applications are invited from the eligible candidates for the selection of 20 participants.

The requirements for admission are as follows:
Eligibility: Bachelor's Degree/Diploma in Technology/Engineering/Science/Commerce/Arts or equivalent.
Those who are appearing for final year exams may also apply and submit the marks card on or before 02nd July 2013. Selection is based on marks/grades of the qualifying degree / diploma examination. Weightage may be given for experience in flour milling / sponsorship by flour milling industry for limited seats. If required an aptitude test / interview will be conducted by CSIR-CFTRI, at Mysore.
The course fee is Rs. 75000/- for Indian participant and U.S. $ 8,000/-for participant from abroad.

Department of Computer Science & Technology, Goa University has invited applications from eligible candidates for admission to MCA Course of Academic Year 2013-14.

Eligibility for Admission:
Admission to the three year, six semester, full time course leading to the degree of 'Master of Computer Applications' (MCA), is open to any candidate satisfying all of the following conditions:
1. A score of 50 percentile or more in MAH-MCA-CET 2013 Test. (combined score in GA and CC)
2. Graduate in any discipline with at least 55% aggregate marks at the first degree examination (50% for candidates in reserved category - OBC, ST, SC, PH, FF).
or
Minimum CPI must be 6.00 in the scale of 1 to 10 at the first degree examination (minimum CPI must be 5.5 in the scale of 1 to 10 for candidates in reserved category  - OBC, ST, SC, PH, FF).
or
For any other method of declaration of the result, the equivalent percentage of the above cases will be decided by the departmental council after the applications have been received. The decision of the university is final.

3. Candidate must have taken mathematics as one of the subjects at HSSCE (10+2) level or at a higher level (documentary proof is essential).

Candidates who have appeared for a degree examination and are awaiting results are also eligible to apply. In case such candidates are selected and their results are not available at the time of admission, these candidates will be given provisional admission.
