Applications:
The fee prescribed for prospectus is Rs.250/-(Rs.150/- for SC / ST / Cat-1 on production of proof of category), for the first copy, and Rs. 50/- for additional applications. A candidate is permitted to obtain only two additional applications on payment of the prescribed fee.

A registration fee of Rs. 350/- (Rs.250/-for SC / ST candidates) shall be remitted shall be remitted either at the cash counter of the University or at Friends Janasevanakendram or by way of MG University pay in slip of A/C No. 67114059391 at State Bank of Travancore. Fee once remitted shall not be refunded under any circumstances. Eligibility for MPhil Research Programme (Full Time / Part Time)
Candidates with Master’s degree of Bharathiar University in the concerned or related discipline or any other qualification recognized as equivalent thereto by the Syndicate of Bharathiar University. All candidates should have passed a two-year PG degree course after 3-year Bachelor’s degree course and Higher Secondary course of 2-year duration after 10-year SSLC (10+2+3+2) or one year Predegree after 11-year SSLC (11+1+3+2) or 10-year SSLC plus 3-year Diploma plus two year UG degree and two year PG (10+3+2+2) or four year UG degree and one year master’s degree (10+2+4+1).

Candidates who have passed the PG degree examination with less than 17 years of total duration of study are not eligible for admission to MPhil programme.
(a) Candidates belonging to the following categories are eligible to register for MPhil (Full-Time / Part Time) programme.
i. Candidates with 55% (5% relaxation for SC/ST candidates in the minimum eligibility marks) of marks and above in the Master’s degree

ii. Candidates with 55% (5% relaxation for SC/ST candidates in the minimum eligibility marks) of marks and above in the Master’s degree and working as Full- time Research Fellows / Technical Assistants / Research Assistants in time-bound Research schemes of one year duration or more in University Departments / Research Departments of Affiliated Colleges / Recognized Research Institutions.

(b) Candidates belonging to the following categories are eligible to register for MPhil (Part-Time) programme:
i. Any person employed in any concern / organization / institution / R & D Centres / Laboratories situated within Tamilnadu or Research Institutions recognized by Bharathiar University with a minimum of 55% of marks in the Master’s degree. Such candidates shall produce a No objection certificate from the Employer or Head of the Institution (in case of Educational Institutions).

ii. All teachers working in colleges affiliated to Bharathiar University are eligible. Candidates working as guest lecturers on consolidated pay are also eligible to pursue MPhil (Part-time) programme provided they produce an NOC and service certificate from their respective colleges.

iii. Candidates working in colleges affiliated to Universities other than Bharathiar University have to produce a No objection Certificate and service certificate from the Head of the Institution / University.

Eligibility for PhD Research Programme: (Full Time / Part Time)
All candidates should have passed a two-year PG degree course after 3-year Bachelor’s degree course and Higher Secondary course of 2-year duration after 10-year SSLC (10+2+3+2) or one year Pre-degree after 11-year SSLC (11+1+3+2) or 10-year SSLC plus 3-year Diploma plus two year UG degree and two year PG (10+3+2+2) or four year UG degree and one year master’s degree (10+2+4+1). Full-time / Part-time (with or without stipend / fellowship)
a) A candidate having a minimum 55% (5% relaxation for SC/ST candidates in the minimum eligibility) marks in the qualifying examinations.

b) The candidates belonging to any one of the categories of full time employment as a teacher working in a Department of the University or of an affiliated College of this University / Higher Secondary School / High School / Polytechnic / Colleges affiliated to other universities (in subjects other than Engineering, Medicine, Law and Agriculture).

c) Scientist / Research fellows / Research assistants / Technical assistants / Project assistants / Project Fellows / Research associates / appointed in the research projects funded by recognized agencies / Government / industries are also eligible to register for PhD at University Departments, Affiliated Colleges, Research Institutions, or R & D Centres / Laboratories.

d) Any Chartered Accountant / Cost Accountant / Company Secretary and other professionals with a minimum period of two years of experience after obtaining their professional qualification is eligible for PhD registration. The subject for registration may be the same as that of the professional qualifications in the case of ACA / AICWA / ACS. The guides may be from the Departments of Commerce, Management Studies, Economics or concerned subjects.

e) For candidate other than a teacher candidate, any permanent staff in a Government Office / Private or Public Ltd., Company / a recognized factory / institution / research institution / Educational Institution / business who has successfully completed probation and holds a Master’s degree with a minimum of 55% of marks in the qualifying examination

Eligibility:
The candidate should be a citizen of India.

Eligibility:

(vi) Candidates who are serving purely under temporary category in Tamil Nadu Medical Service will be considered for selection under open quota as non-service candidates only.

(vii) Service candidates taking allotment in Self-financing colleges will not be paid salary and they have to avail leave to which they are eligible for the period of study on their own after obtaining prior permission from their Head of the Department concerned.

Applications have been invited by the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations for the Entrance Examination for admission to Post Graduate Medical/ Surgical Super Speciality Courses, Kerala 2014 in the Government Medical Colleges at Thiruvananthapuram, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Thrissur and Kozhikode and the Government merit seats in Self Financing colleges within the State of Kerala in the following Specialities.

The duration of the course shall be 3 years from the date of commencement of the course.

Eligibility for Admission:
(a) Nativity: Applicants should have satisfied the following two conditions.
(i) Indian citizen.
(ii) Have passed the MBBS Degree / PG Degree (MD/MS/Dip.N.B) from any of the Medical Colleges
within India.

Not exceeding 50% of the seats in each speciality are set apart for Indian Citizen of Kerala origin for selection based on their rank in the rank list.
(b) Basic Academic qualifications:
(i) M.B.B.S. Degree and
(ii) Appropriate Post Graduate Degree (M.D/M.S) of the Universities in Kerala or any other University recognized by Kerala University of Health Sciences (KUHS) as equivalent thereto or appropriate Diplomate of National Board (Dip.N.B.). Candidates who have appeared or are appearing for the M.D / M.S Examination are also eligible to apply and they should produce their P G Degree Certificate at the time of counseling.
(iii) Registration: Candidates should have got their M.B.B.S and PG Degrees registered permanently with State Medical Council [T.C.Medical Council] and the proof should be submitted at the time of counseling.
(c) Age: There is no upper age limit for General Merit Candidates. For Service candidates, it will be 48 years for Health Services Quota and 52 years for Medical Education Service Quota as on the date of notification for inviting application (03.07.2014).
(d) All candidates, including service quota candidates shall have to qualify the Entrance Examination conducted by the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, Kerala by securing a minimum of 50% marks for either Paper I or Paper II (40% marks for either Paper I or Paper II for SEBC and SC/ST candidates).
Selection and Entrance Examination: The selection of the candidates will be made through an Entrance Examination to be conducted by the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, Kerala at Thiruvananthapuram on 19.07.2014 (Saturday) and 20.07.2014 (Sunday). It will consist of Two Papers, each of one and half hours duration and consisting of 90 Objective Type (Multiple Choice) questions each.

Appearance in both Paper I and Paper II of the Entrance Examination is compulsory for admission to the course. 50% marks in either Paper I or Paper II will be the qualifying marks. For the purpose of ranking of the candidates, marks obtained by the candidates for both the papers will be taken. The Commissioner for Entrance Examinations will prepare and publish the Rank list of General Merit candidates based on merit and also a list of qualified candidates under Service Quota and forward the same to the Director of Medical Education.

The selection of General Merit candidates to the course will be on the basis of rank obtained in the Entrance Examination. The Director of Health Services / Medical Education will prepare a rank list of respective Service Quota candidates, who have qualified in the Entrance Examination, based on their service seniority. The Director of Medical Education will do the allotment for the candidates as per the rank under general merit and as per the service seniority for service candidates.

Application forms & Application fees: Prospectus and Online Application form will be available from 04.07.2014 onwards in the website www.cee.kerala.gov.in (See Clause 9 of the Prospectus). The Online Application procedure is common for General and Service candidates. Candidates seeking admission to the courses can apply online and then remit the required fee at any of the branches of State Bank of Travancore using the Bank Chalan available with the printout of the application form. Candidates residing outside Kerala State can remit the application fee by way of Demand Draft drawn from any nationalized bank in favour of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, payable at Thiruvananthapuram.

Application fee is Rs.1000/- for SC/ST candidates and Rs.2500/- for all other candidates. Service candidates seeking admission in General Merit Quota also, should remit extra Rs.1500/-. Application fee once remitted will not be refunded under any circumstances. Application forms will not be sold from the office of the CEE or office of the DME.

Last date and time for receipt of printout of online application: Candidates seeking admission to the General Merit seats should take a print out of the online application form, affix recent passport size photograph (same as the one uploaded online) in the space provided, get it attested by a Government Gazetted Officer and then forward their completed application with all the required documents mentioned in Clause 9.5 of the prospectus [See also the instructions given in Website] including original bank chalan /D.D. to the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, Vth Floor, Housing Board Buildings, Santhinagar, Thiruvananthapuram - 695 001, either by Registered Post / Speed Post / Hand Delivery so as to reach him before 5 pm on 11.07.2014 [Friday].

Applicants to Service quota seats should complete all the procedures mentioned in clauses 9.1, 9.2 & 9.3 of the Prospectus and forward the printout of the online application form along with all the required documents mentioned in clauses 9.5 & 9.6 of the prospectus to the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, and a copy of the application along with all required documents should be forwarded to the Controlling Officer concerned [DME / DHS] as stipulated in the Prospectus, on or before 11.07.2014.
Admit Cards: Admit cards for the candidates whose applications have been accepted will be provided online in the official website of Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, www.cee.kerala.gov.in  from 15.07.2014 (Tuesday) onwards.

Claim for Relaxation of Marks for qualifying the Entrance Examination as prescribed in clause 3.4 of the Prospectus: Candidates claiming SEBC benefit should submit the Community Certificate and Income Certificate (Below Rs. 6 lakhs per annum) obtained from the Village Officer concerned in the State of Kerala, in the proforma available with the printout of the application form. Candidates whose annual family income is above Rs. 6 lakhs are not eligible for any relaxation permissible to the SEBC category.
Candidates will not be allowed, either to include any information in the application form or to submit any certificates / documents claiming any benefits, after the submission of the application. Candidates must note that, they have to obtain the required certificates in the body of the application form itself, wherever specified.

The CEE will conduct the Entrance Examination, prepare and publish the rank list of Candidates who qualify in the Entrance Examination and forward the same to the Director of Medical Education. The rank list will be made available in the website “ www.cee-kerala.org ”.

The allotment of seats including those under Service Quota will be made by the DME through a counseling for which the candidates will be called for a personal appearance and will be based on various provisions laid down in the Prospectus, approved by the Government of Kerala.
