Admission to Ph.D Programmes for Spring Semester 2014

Applications are invited for admission to Ph.D. programmes for the Spring Semester of the Session 2014-15. Ph.D Programmes are available in all departments/centres including Institute Instrumentation Centre, Centre of Excellence in Transportation Systems, Centre of Excellence in Disaster Mitigation & Management and Centre of Excellence in Nanotechnology.

HOW TO APPLY
 The candidate is required to register and fill the application online from September 09, 2014 to September 25, 2014 by accessing http://pgadm.iitr.ernet.in.  After finalizing the application, download the online filled application and Bank Challan (in triplicate) simultaneously. The requisite fee of Rs. 200/- for GEN/OBC and Rs. 100/- for SC/ST/PD category candidates must be deposited for each department in any branch of State Bank of India throughout the country through bank challan on next working day of finalization of online application and or before the last date i.e. September 27, 2014. Bank will retain a copy and will return two copies to you. Out of two copies, retain the Candidate’s copy with you and attach the IITR’s copy with the print out of downloaded application form and send it to PG admission office.

1. The fee shall not be accepted through any other mode.
2. Separate application be sent for each department/centre and for each department/centre separate fee shall be required. However, total fee be deposited together using single challan. An original copy of
challan be used with the application form for one department and Xerox copy of the challan form can be
attached for other departments (if applicable).

ISB’S MANAGEMENT PROGRAMME FOR FAMILY BUSINESS (MFAB) is a comprehensive general management programme. The programme is designed for young business leaders of family businesses who intend to manage their business and for individuals who aspire to work in family business.

The programme duration is 15 months and allows participants to continue to contribute to the success of their business. The course content will be contextualized to the needs of family business. It helps participants understand their business better, prepares them to sustain it through phases of transition and to grow it in an environment of increased competition.

The programme draws from best management practices in family business from across the globe and aims to groom business scions in areas like planning, objective setting and astute management of their family’s business. While each family’s situation is unique, there are many best practices which can be applied to all family businesses

Eligibility

Bachelors’ Degree or an equivalent qualification (like CA, etc.) Applicants should have completed the Bachelors Degree as the time of submitting the application.

No work experience is required for admission. However, the ISB strongly feels that an experience of 4-5 years will add a lot of value

A non- refundable application fee will have to be paid at the time of submission of the application. Payments can be made only via credit card. It also includes the fee for BAT. The fee amount is dependent on the date when the application is submitted.

The application fee for final deadline will be  ₹15,000/- (Applications submitted after October 30, 2014, 5:00pm (IST) will NOT be considered as Early Application and will automatically be charged ₹15,000/-).

All three campuses total 5 program fee will be Rs. 2000/-
example:- A candidate is wishing to apply to Delhi campus any program will pay Rs. 2000/-. If candidate is wishing to apply only to the Bhubaneswar or Kolkata campus the cost of the application form will be Rs 300/- each campus. If candidate is wishing to apply to both Kolkata and Bhubaneswar campuses then he will pay Rs. 600/-. If a candidate is wishing to apply to the PGDM program at all three campuses will be required to pay Rs. 2000/-

The KIIT School of Rural Management (KSRM), Bhubaneswar under KIIT University has invited applications for admission to MBA (Rural Management) course of Academic Year 2015-17.

Eligibility:
MBA (Rural Management): Graduate in any discipline recognized by the AIU with a minimum of 15 years (10+2+3) of education and having minimum 50% aggregate marks (or equivalent CGPA) with valid CAT score. The percentage of aggregate marks is to be calculated as per the practice followed by the concerned University/ Institution from where the candidate has obtained the degree.

The students who are appearing for final year graduation exams are also eligible to apply and will be given provisional admission subject to submission of their final results before 30th September 2015.

Admission:
Those students who are interested in getting admission in our MBA(RM) Programme 2015-17 can appear for CAT 2014. However, they have to submit a separate application form (downloadable from KSRM website: www.ksrm.ac.in) along with valid CAT score on or before 31st January, 2015.

Basis of selection:

Procedure:
1. The conditions for eligibility will be guided overall by the rules specified in the notification titled University of Calcutta (Regulations for the Degree of Doctor of Philosophy, Ph.D.), Regulations 2009
2. Eligibility: Candidates with an M.Sc. or equivalent degree in Statistics and allied subjects from any UGC recognized University/Institute are eligible to apply for admission in the Ph.D. programme.
3. The admission procedure consists of a written test followed by an interview for candidates successful in the same. Those who have qualified NET / SET (Mathematical Sciences) / GATE (Mathematics) or hold a UGC Teachers’ Fellowship or already obtained M.Phil. in Statistics and allied subjects or M. Tech. (QR&OR) degree of ISI prior to the application deadline will be exempted from the written examination but will have to appear in the interview.
4. The written test is common to the Ph.D. and M.Phil. programmes for the year 2014. A candidate who qualifies for the Ph.D. programme is automatically eligible to join the M. Phil. programme instead, if he/she chooses. However, for exercising this choice, such a candidate must have applied also for the M. Phil. programme by the relevant deadline.
The two programmes cannot be pursued simultaneously.

1. There will be 25 multiple choice questions each carrying 2.5 marks out of which one has to answer 20 questions. If a candidate answers more than 20, only the first 20 answered will be evaluated.
2. There will be 15 short answer type questions of 5 marks each out of which one has to answer 10 questions. If a candidate attempts more than 10, only the first 10 attempted will be evaluated.
3. Pass marks for the test will be announced in due course.
4. Candidates successful in the written examination would have to compete with other eligible candidates who have already cleared NET / SET / GATE / M. Phil / M. Tech. (QR&OR) at the interview stage. The list of finally selected candidates would be posted in the University website and Departmental Notice Board.
5. Candidates selected for the final interview will be required to specify his/her areas of interest by a specified date before the interview. However, the selection committee may, at its discretion, require a candidate to opt for a topic/area other than his/her initial choice before admitting him/her into the Ph.D. programme. Eligibility: Any candidate who has passed the M.A./M.Sc./M.Com. or equivalent Examination of this university with 55% marks in aggregate (S.C./S.T. with 50%marks)or With 60%marks in aggregate of any other recognized University. Students who are taking M.A./M.Sc./M.Com Part-II Examination and or Final Semester Examination in the abovementioned subjects may also apply provisionally and sit for the admission test but their Final admission would depend on passing the examination obtained the required marks mentioned above. Candidates who have qualified NET, SET or any equivalent national level examination are exempted from the admission test, but not from the interview. Students who have done M.A. in South & South-East Asian Studies and any Social Science subjects, can apply for admission to M.Phil. in South & South-East Asian Studies. Candidates of any stream of M.A., M.Sc., M.Com. and/or other P.G. degrees from any recognized university are eligible to apply for the course of Women’s Studies.

Calcutta University Branch, College St. or with any other SBI Branch by paying the required additional
