The Wildlife Institute of India (WII) has invited applications to the 3rd course on wildlife conservation for wildlife enthusiasts scheduled to be conducted from 5–14 October, 2015.

Professionals without any formal education, training and experience of wildlife biology / conservation will be given preference in the course. The course will involve five days of class room sessions at WII followed by a five days field visit. The total number of participants in the course will be 20. The training fee for this course is Rs. 30,000/person (Rupees Thirty Thousand only), which includes cost towards food and accommodation at WII and at field site, and travel to the field site and back.

Applications from interested candidates must contain a copy of their C.V. and a brief write-up explaining their intention to participate in this short course.  Selection of candidates will be based on their write-up and C.V. (b) Candidates of Indian origin or overseas students who have qualified for a Master’s Degree in basic sciences / allied health sciences / faculty of Medicine of an accredited Overseas University securing a minimum of 50% marks(or equivalent grade).

2. Requirement of Experience: (PhD Part Time - Internal)
(a) Teacher candidates working in College / University departments and such other Institutions recognized by MCI / DCI / INC with at least one year of continuous teaching experience at undergraduate or post-graduate level in the subject concerned.

(b) Candidates under the regulations of part-time (Internal) shall be required to work in a department approved for research by this University while the Guide / Supervisor may or may not be working in the same department. Interdisciplinary research for such part-time internal candidates shall be allowed only with the approval of the Academic Council.

(c) For   PhD programme of clinical disciplines of Medicine, minimum one year experience in the concerned department for Diploma candidates. For candidates with PG Degree or equivalent there to, in the concerned subject, may be exempted from this experience criterion at the discretion of the Doctoral Committee, with the approval of the Academic Council.

(d) Technocrats, Scientists, Social Scientists & Scholars with at least 2 years of experience in India or abroad and Educational qualifications as prescribed for PhD Part-time programme, having sufficient exposure in research & development and generated useful data / patent / knowledge as evidenced by their contributions in their respective areas.

(e) Non-teaching staff employed in a time scale of pay in this University and other affiliated research Institutions provided that (i)the candidate has at least 5 years of continuous work experience of which at least two years should be relevant to the field of research, proof of which is to be evidenced through two research papers published in standard journals OR
(ii) the candidates has at least 3 years of work experience with MPhil in the subject concerned and published two research papers in standard journals in the subject concerned.

(f) Candidates under the regulations of part-time (Internal) are prohibited from taking any other remunerative assignments or joining any other course of study.

3. Requirement of Experience: (PhD Part Time - External)
(g) Permanent academic staff of college / Universities / other educational Institutions of higher learning / Research & Development Laboratories and organizations with at least two years of continuous teaching / research experience.

(h) For PhD programme of clinical disciplines of Medicine, minimum one year experience in the concerned department for Diploma candidates. For candidates with PG Degree or equivalent there to, in the concerned subject, may be exempted from this experience criterion at the discretion of the Doctoral Committee, with the approval of the Academic Council.
(i) Technocrats, Scientists, Social Scientists & Scholars and Administrators
with at least 10 years of experience in India or abroad and Educational qualifications as prescribed for PhD Part-time programme, having sufficient exposure in research & development and generated useful data / patent / knowledge as evidenced by their contributions in their respective areas of research.
(j) A candidate possessing a master’s degree from an accredited Overseas University and who is residing abroad or working abroad in a University / industry may also apply. Such applications shall be routed through the concerned department and placed before the PhD admission committee. There shall be sufficient correspondence between the candidate and the supervisor to effectively evaluate the candidate potential and feasibility of supervision on the identified topic. A well written research proposal should be placed before the admission committee along with the consent of the supervisor.

4. Requirement of Experience: (PhD Full Time)
(a) The candidate with research grant from a non SBV funding agency (NET qualified, GATE, ICMR, INSPIRE)
(b) The candidate willing to register with SBV, but on a non-stipendiary basis.

(x) Two Self Addressed covers (23 x 10 cms) with postage stamps of Rs.40.00 (Rupees Forty only) each enclosed with the application for sending the Hall Ticket and Entrance Examination marks statement.
(xi) Attested Photocopy of Transfer Certificate.
(xii) Eligibility Certificate from Tamil Nadu Dr.M.G R. Medical University for candidates who have qualified from other Universities. This should be produced before counselling when called for.
